00:00Come with us to the fifth annual Battle of the Badges game where the NYPD and FDNY face off in
00:05a nine-inning baseball game to honor those who protect the community. Your local Ford stores are
00:10a proud sponsor of the event and their goal is to support the first responders community
00:14by continuing to bring the event to life. And your local Ford stores have donated $200,000
00:19to first responder charities through the first five years of the event. We had the chance to
00:23talk with Mets legend David Wright and hear what this means to him in his third year hosting.
00:28It's one of my favorite days of the year. It's incredibly important to me growing up
00:33in a family with a father as a police officer. I understood at a young age just how important
00:38and integral these brave men and women are in our community. Oftentimes you think of role
00:44models or people that get put on a pedestal in New York and often athletes are one of
00:49those people. In my opinion it should be the men and women on the baseball field right now
00:53for the work that they do on a daily basis. This year the long-term rivals were looking
00:57to settle the score. And shout out the first responder community who always shows up.
01:02After an intense nine innings the NYPD came up with the win, won nothing, and took home
01:07this year's trophy. Congratulations to the NYPD and who do you think is going to take it home
01:12next year in the battle of the badges.
01:15You
