00:05led St. John's to a regular season title for the first time in 40 years. Guess what? He's back in
00:12college basketball and the judge just made that official. So a Louisiana judge granted R.J. Lewis
00:17Jr. a preliminary injunction Monday, clearing him to practice and potentially play for LSU this
00:24season. And that's despite the fact that he signed multiple NBA contracts after leaving college. Now
00:30he went undrafted in the 2025 NBA draft. Then he signed a two-way deal with the Utah Jazz. He
00:37was
00:38then traded to the Celtics in August of 2025 when Boston sent a player and two second round picks
00:45to get him. He later played on an exhibit 10 deal with the Celtics G League affiliate. But here's
00:52the loophole. He never appeared in a single NBA regular season game and he didn't play for the
00:58G League club either because he was hurt. His legal teams argue that that means he never actually played
01:06professional basketball and the judge agreed with that framing in his ruling on Monday. Now this
01:12isn't something that's happening in a vacuum, y'all. The NCAA is currently fighting a wave of similar
01:18cases from players in the 2022 recruiting class who missed out on the new age-based eligibility rules.
01:26In fact, Kentucky commit Mark Mitchell got a similar injunction as well over the weekend. Now the NCAA
01:33is expected to keep fighting this and SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey has already gone on record against both
01:41Lewis and Mitchell playing.
