More than seven million new coins are being released, featuring the King on one side and a rare Scottish grouse on the other. Check your change as they begin appearing in everyday transactions.

00:00A new Tenpence piece featuring King Charles is entering circulation. It's the first time
00:05the denomination has carried the King's portrait. More than 7 million coins are being released,
00:12including 600,000 dated 2023 and 6.5 million dated 2026. The Royal Mint says the coins
00:20are being issued to meet demand. On the reverse is the Cappacaylee, the world's largest grouse,
00:26found in a small part of Scotland and at risk of extinction. Coins featuring Queen Elizabeth
00:32remain legal tender. The coin is the fourth denomination to feature the King's portrait.
00:38New banknotes will follow shortly, with images of UK wildlife replacing historical figures.
