00:00The Alba Movimientos Fidel Castro Internationalist Youth Brigade visited Venezuela to learn about the productive projects of the people's power
00:07and to express his support for the Venezuelan political process.
00:11Our correspondent, Michelle Ramirez, gives us the details.
00:15From a school in Caracas, the Fidel Castro Internationalist Youth Brigade of the Alba Movements, comprised of 30 members from
00:22more than 10 countries, expressed its solidarity with the Venezuelan people and government.
00:32We've been in these Venezuelan lands for 11 days. We have spent time with party members. We have spent time
00:37with community members. We have spent time with families who have been mourning the tragedy of the double earthquake. And
00:41we have been living among them constantly. We have gained a great deal of experience.
00:47First, we could cite an example of the dignity of this people who are resisting natural disasters. You can see
00:52the community and we see the solidarity among the Venezuelan people themselves.
00:56Here, there are many of us young people from different Central American countries engaged in an effort to show solidarity
01:02with them as well. But we also see the resilience of the Venezuelan people in the face of attacks by
01:08foreign governments.
01:12They visited the Five de Marzo productive commune in the Cosh Parish, where they learned about the Venezuelan communal system.
01:22As for the brigade, we are not only grateful for the welcome, but also deeply impressed and very proud of
01:28the work they are doing, because it's inspiring to see places that are organized communally, where people come together and
01:34form connections, networks that build bonds.
01:36So the truth is that, for now, the experience in the community has been incredible, especially because they chart a
01:44path for us to follow, a vision we can all share, communal living and community production, connecting with one another
01:51and building from there.
01:54During their visit to the country, they also toured La Guayra, the state most affected by the double earthquake.
01:59They highlighted the level of solidarity, action and hard work shown by the population in collaboration with the national government.
02:06We realized that all of this organization also acts as a protective factor when dealing with contingencies as severe as
02:12those our Venezuelan compatriots are currently facing and which, unfortunately, we ourselves are experiencing right now.
02:22One of the most significant lessons I can highlight is understanding how the organization has been functioning here,
02:30starting with the cells they form within the camps so that they can also be replicated elsewhere.
02:39Right now, we are at the transitional camp here in the state of La Guayra, and we've noticed that there
02:44are different approaches taken by government agencies,
02:49but also by the communities themselves in organizing to provide aid services.
02:58The Continental Coalition of Social and Popular Movements Toward the Dawn is a platform that fights for the unity and
03:05integration of our America in pursuit of an emancipatory political project for the peoples.
