00:00Rockstar just gave us the closest look yet at how crime actually works in GTA 6.
00:05And if you piece together information from both trailers, the leaked 2022 footage, and
00:09the 60 gameplay screenshots, a full robbery system starts to take shape.
00:13An actual system with mechanics, tools, and consequences.
00:17So stick around because by the end of the video, you are going to fully understand exactly
00:21how stealing money, robbing stores, and pulling off full-scale bank heists will work in GTA
00:266.
00:26Some of these mechanics are unlike anything Rockstar has ever done before, so let's
00:30dive into it.
00:31And let's start with the biggest piece of evidence we have so far, and that is the Sin
00:35Frontera National Bank Heist shown in GTA 6 trailer 2.
00:39Fans have spent months mapping the secrets out shot by shot, and when you line the clips
00:44up in order, it tells a full story.
00:46The first clip shows Jason and Lucia inside the bank in skull masks actually pulling off
00:51the robbery.
00:52The second clip shows them fighting their way out in a shootout as they escape.
00:55And the third clip shows the getaway.
00:57Police cars getting blown up as Lucia and Jason try to lose the cops through the streets
01:01of Vice City.
01:02One Reddit user pointed out something that basically confirms this theory, Lucia is wearing
01:07the same outfit across all three clips, with only small differences, like her glasses changing,
01:12and a body armor vest appearing in the later scenes, but not the first.
01:16That's not a coincidence either.
01:18Rockstar has already confirmed that half of what's in the trailer is actual gameplay footage,
01:22not cutscenes, which means there's a real chance we are looking at a full playable heist
01:26mission from start to finish without people even realizing it.
01:29And the heist doesn't end at the bank doors.
01:32Trailer 2 also shows Jason and Lucia dragging an actual vault chained to the back of a pickup
01:37truck through the streets of Vice City while being chased.
01:40Picture the vault truck chase from Fast Five, except it's happening in Rockstar's most detailed
01:45open world ever.
01:46There's also a scene of Lucia firing a grenade launcher at police vehicles from the back of
01:50a damaged bus during this escape.
01:52This isn't a quiet, stealthy only heist system, GTA 6 heists look like they can escalate into
01:58full blown chaos if things go wrong.
02:00And from what we've seen, things go wrong quite frequently throughout the campaign in
02:04story mode.
02:04Now here's where it gets really interesting for how you'll actually plan robberies.
02:08Leaked footage from the diner heist at Hank's Waffles shows Jason using what's being called
02:13as an eagle eye ability.
02:15Basically GTA 6's version of Deadeye from Red Dead Redemption 2.
02:19And instead of slowing down time to shoot, this lets you scan your surroundings outside
02:23of combat to size up a location before you commit to robbing it, and basically you can
02:28decide if the threat is too large before you try and rob or start a heist.
02:32Reports describe this system marking high value targets in a store, things like jewelry, hidden
02:38safes, and security cameras so you can actually case a location before pulling a weapon.
02:42That's a massive shift for the series, because in GTA 5, robbing a store was basically just
02:47walking in, pointing a gun, taking the cash, and walking out.
02:50In GTA 6, it sounds like there's actual planning layers even for small scale robberies, not
02:56just the big scripted heist like Banks.
02:58The same diner leak also shows something Rockstar has never done in the series before, and this
03:02is real-time coordination between two protagonist characters in a robbery.
03:07And in this clip, Jason and Lucia split the responsibilities.
03:11One of them handles the actual holdup, while the other manages the crowd and keeps people
03:16from panicking, running for the door, or calling the cops.
03:19And apparently, prompts appear on screen, letting you issue commands to your partner mid-robbery,
03:24so you're not just controlling one character reacting to the chaos, you're actively directing
03:28a two-person crew in real-time.
03:31And just like Jason has that Deadeye ability that we just talked about earlier, Lucia will
03:35also have her own ability as well, it's just not as well documented because it wasn't seen
03:40in the League 2022 footage where we actually saw Jason's Deadeye ability for the first time.
03:44And this is a genuinely new mechanic for the franchise because it means every robbery becomes
03:49a small tactical decision.
03:51Who watches the hostages?
03:52Who's grabbing the money from the register?
03:54Who's going to watch the door?
03:55And those decision making could be the difference between a clean exit and a shootout with police,
04:00drastically changing the gameplay mechanics of every single robbery or heist you attempt.
04:05Now according to the gameplay leaks from 2022 as well, GTA 6 is moving away from the old
04:10system where stolen cash and items just instantly appear in your inventory or bank account.
04:14Instead, everything you steal from cash, jewelry, gold, valuables gets physically transferred into
04:21your character's duffel bag.
04:22This sounds small, but it changes everything about how robberies work because bigger and
04:26heavier stolen items reportedly take up more space in that bag and can actually slow your
04:31character down if you're carrying too much.
04:33On top of that, leaks point to a stolen goods disposable system similar to Red Dead Redemption 2's
04:39fence mechanic.
04:39You won't be able to just walk stolen goods straight into cash.
04:42You'll reportedly need to find somewhere to stash that you've taken,
04:46then track down the right buyer willing to actually purchase it.
04:49And that means high value jewelry heist or gold robberies could turn into their own mini side quest
04:54just to convert your loot into usable money.
04:57Adding a layer of risk every time you rob somewhere because stolen goods sitting in your bag or your
05:02hideout are still evidence if the police catch up to you.
05:05And one of the most talked about leaks describes a system where NPCs during a robbery aren't just generic
05:11bystanders anymore. They're assigned individual behavior types.
05:14Some NPCs will comply immediately, some will panic and scream, and some will try to be a hero
05:20and fight back or reach for a weapon.
05:22And some will bolt for the exit or a phone to call the police the second they get the chance.
05:27To deal with the ones who try to be heroes or run, leaks describe a zip tie restraint mechanic
05:32letting you physically restrain hostages who are resisting or trying to alert the cops.
05:37And if that's accurate, it means every store robbery or bank job could play out completely differently
05:42depending on who happens to be inside that location and how you choose to handle them
05:46with negotiating, restraints, intimidation tactics, or just letting things spiral into violence.
05:52And beyond the big bank heist, the footage and screenshots point to
05:55plenty of smaller robbery opportunities scattered around the map.
05:58Trailer 1 shows a holdup scene at what looks like a liquor store chain
06:02with a glass counter getting smashed and cash grabbed from the register in a quick,
06:07fast-paced robbery.
06:08Other leaks and community breakdowns point to convenience stores like the 24-7 chain
06:12and gas stations as robbable locations too, each with different store layouts,
06:17different amounts of loot, and different witness counts depending on how busy the location is
06:22and what time of day you're actually trying to rob it.
06:24Because if you do it in the middle of the day, the likelihood of more NPCs and it being busier
06:29is of course going to be higher than if you try robbing it at like 3am in the middle of
06:32the night.
06:33And this lines up with what we already know about Rockstar's design philosophy,
06:36GTA 5 let you rob small stores for quick cash between missions,
06:40and GTA 6 looks like it's expanding that into a much deeper, more dynamic system
06:45where no two robberies will play out exactly the same.
06:48Now beyond the planning and the loot, there's the actual moment-to-moment gunplay when a robbery goes loud,
06:52and reporting on the leaked footage suggests that weapon systems behind all of this
06:56is built on top of the Red Dead Redemption 2's foundation, then pushed even further for GTA 6.
07:03That means weapon holsters on your character's body instead of guns just teleporting into your hands,
07:08deeper customization options, and a much wider variety of weapons than anything the series has had before.
07:14During the Bank Heist sequence, you can actually see this play out.
07:17Jason and Lucia moving between different weapons as the situation shifts from a controlled robbery
07:22to a full firefight in a matter of seconds. And that escalation ties directly into a revamped
07:27wanted system as well. Instead of a robbery just triggering an instant 5 star response like older
07:32GTA games, leaks and trailer breakdowns suggest the police reaction is going to scale more realistically
07:38based on how the robbery is actually handled. A quiet job where hostages are restrained and nobody
07:43calls for help could stay under the radar far longer than a robbery where an NPC bolts out the door
07:49and reaches a phone. That's a direct link back to the NPC behavior system that we already talked about
07:54earlier in the video. And the way you handle witnesses during the jobs and robberies doesn't
07:58just affect that one heist, it affects how hard the escape afterward will also be and how quickly
08:04the police will respond. This is also where the getaway sequence from the fake heist really matters.
08:08Once the wanted level ramps up, the escape stops being a simple drive away and turns into the kind of
08:14chaotic set piece that we saw in GTA 6 trailer 2 with blown up police cruisers, a grenade launcher
08:20coming out and Jason and Lucia fighting their way through Vice City streets while dragging a stolen
08:25vault behind a truck. Every piece of this system seems designed to reward planning and punish sloppiness
08:30which is exactly the kind of risk and reward loop that made GTA's online heist so replayable in the first
08:37place. Community researchers digging through the trailers have pointed to the 919 nightclub shown in
08:42trailer 2 as a possible headquarters location for Jason and Lucia to plan out bigger jobs,
08:47similar to the heist planning room from GTA Online. This part is still speculation since
08:51Rockstar hasn't confirmed it directly, but given how much time the trailer spends on that location
08:56and how central heist planning was to GTA Online's entire endgame, it would make sense for Rockstar to
09:02build an actual physical hub into the story mode this time instead of locking heist planning behind an
09:08apartment menu. There's also speculation tied to character bios referencing a smuggling ringleader
09:14about drug and goods smuggling missions running between the keys using boats, and if true, this
09:19would work almost like a rolling heist system that isn't a one-time mission but an ongoing criminal
09:24operation that you can keep coming back to for extra income, similar to how GTA Online let players run
09:31reoccurring businesses. So if you put all of this together and GTA 6 is shaping up to have the deepest
09:36robbery and heist system the series has ever attempted or seen, confirmed footage gives us a
09:41full multitask stage bank heist with vault dragging and police escapes, leaks point to scanning mechanics,
09:47duffel bag inventory limits, and a stolen goods economy with NPC behavior that reacts differently
09:52every single time. But that is all the confirmed and leaked information we know about the upcoming GTA 6
