00:00what's up everyone this is joseph suchessy new york post sports pro wrestling columnist back for
00:04some more predictions this time we'll take a look at aew all-in this sunday at wimbley stadium at
00:11one o'clock eastern time i think there's a lot of matches that feel like are pretty easy to call
00:17i actually think for a while there's there's a lot here that that could go a whole lot of different
00:21ways so so we're going to take a look at them and i'm going to give you my best guess
00:24at what i
00:25think's happening here we're going to start out with the aw world trios championship hangman adam
00:31page has pretty much put a challenge out to any trio team in an aw to to take a a
00:38shot at their
00:38titles with uh brodito bandito and brody king a bunch of teams have not officially been announced here but
00:45i think we're going to get uh you know ricochet's crew is probably going to go with the demand and
00:51the biggest thing is this is the chance where i think we get the new day's debut swerve has kind
00:56of hinted that anyone can go for these and it would make a lot of sense to to put kofi
01:03and xavier woods
01:05who will probably go by different names austin creed uh and we'll see what kofi decides to use uh coming
01:10in here i do think they win here it's pretty much a chance to make the most news to have
01:15them debut to
01:16have them win the trios championships and then we go in and we set up a potential match with
01:20the elite which is pretty much the dream match so you can do kenny you know and the young bucks
01:26against them coming out of this the aw international championship kyle fletcher the champion versus
01:31kanose tekecha and kazucha okada obviously this is one that that has a chance to to steal the show
01:38maybe not over omega osprey but what's certainly over the rest of the card um a lot of this match
01:44is
01:44centered around the the tension that we've seen between okada and kyle fletcher inside the
01:49don callis family okada's kind of made it known that he thinks that the most important thing is
01:54that either he or fletcher wins that we keep the title in the don callis family and not let
01:59tekecha win who has obviously been excommunicated from that family i don't think there's a wrong
02:04answer here because i think you can build the drama a lot of ways i'm going to go with kyle
02:08fletcher
02:08here and okada not raising his hand like he had hoped fletcher would if he won i just think you
02:15can
02:15build the most drama there and have tekecha win it later and then go okada fletcher in their own feud
02:22kind of after that without the title you know being on the line tnt championship is in a falls count
02:28anywhere between kevin knight and darby allen we've already seen kevin knight you know do the pyro all
02:34around darby uh he seems to be one step ahead of him here i think this is one where i
02:39don't think
02:40kevin knight's gonna get bumped up to the world title you know picture anytime soon he just got
02:45off you know losing a match uh for that i do think you have to have kevin win here just
02:50to keep that
02:51momentum going darby doesn't need another tnt title darby doesn't need the win here you know give
02:55kevin knight another notch in the belt women's world tag team championship divine dominion versus
03:00the brawling birds both of these teams i believe are undefeated coming into this match since since
03:05joining up uh divine dominion have been on a roll since since winning and have been pretty much
03:09as dominant a tag team we've seen aw i feel like we've been building the brawling birds to this match
03:15for a while um hater and alex winder have been a perfect pair they're gonna be on home soil perfect
03:21chance to have them win and get a big pop from the english crowd continental challenge cup final john
03:27moxley the champion versus nigel mcginnis i don't know if i love having the the cup a separate tournament
03:32outside the continental classic but it's been interesting to see some of the um inter-team
03:38guys fighting each other i don't think aw can have every english wrestler win on this card though you
03:43never know um nigel's more important to commentary as greater wrestler and run as he had so i do think
03:49john wins here but i think nigel and him give us a heck of a ride where it looks like
03:54nigel's gonna win
03:55two or three different times in this match the men's casino gauntlet the winner gets an aw world
04:00title shot at the time of their choosing we only have a couple of announced participants which is
04:05andrade mjf tomaso champer and mark davis i don't know if there's a big person that is ready to return
04:13or debut as a singles so i don't know if you get a surprise winner here i'm gonna go with
04:18mjf just
04:19because i think that leads you to the biggest possible all out main event when you have a show
04:25when you have wwe putting its worlds collide show against it i think you need a stellar main event
04:31and if you can get mjf and the winner of the title match so i don't spoil anything in that
04:37i think that's
04:39the best uh best possible cage though i do think andrade comes out of this still having a case to
04:45to
04:45get a world title shot in the future and a shot at mjf in the future aw world tag team
04:50championships
04:50adam copeland and christian cage versus the young bucks this is about as good a first time dream
04:57matches as you're gonna get with with two of the best tag teams ever and obviously two of the best
05:02of
05:02their their generations in a match that we had all hoped to see and never thought we were gonna see
05:07i think the occasion cope need to win here because they they've only had the titles for a short time
05:13since aw double and nothing i don't think it's time to take it off them i'm not sure what else
05:18they
05:19do if if they're not together in champions this christian even stick around if there's aren't belts
05:24to win i do think you can have some interference whether it be uh ftr coming back whether it be
05:31the the new day get involved after they debut earlier um i do think there's some things you can
05:36do to protect the young bucks here so that you can come back to this match for a more definitive
05:40winner later on but i think the tag team division aw is so strong but let's have these titles change
05:46hands in a in a wild multi-team match somewhere down the road here aw women's world title willow
05:53nightingaro versus mercedes monet um obviously these two have a long history in aw and new japan
06:00mercedes got hurt in her match against willow and is holding it against her willow beat mercedes for the
06:05tbs championship they're technically they're right now two and two um like i said i don't think there's
06:11a bad answer here but i think it needs to be mercedes in the sense that one she's next in
06:16line they've
06:17split and she's the next winner here i don't think that having her with the divine dominion and not
06:22having them find a way to deliver her that that world championship kind of hurts that that pairing a
06:27little bit and i also think you always want to have the baby face chasing i think if you can
06:31kind of have monet win and have willow screwed out of it a little bit then then you set up
06:37some some
06:37stuff later on we haven't seen tecla yet if tecla wants to come back and and cost willow who beat
06:43her
06:43the title i think that's also a direction they can go i just think it makes a lot more sense
06:48for business
06:49going forward what else would mercedes do if she doesn't win and she can't get another title well maybe
06:54she gets another title shot and then she kind of almost has to win that one like uh i just
06:59think
06:59that's the best way to go here and now we get to our main event aw world championship champion kenny
07:04omega versus will osprey it feels like ever since osprey's been in this company it's it's been a build
07:12to him getting to this point where where he's ready to to win the aw world championship obviously that
07:18got kicked into high gear when he came back from his uh double neck fusion surgery he won the owen
07:26there's been a ton of storytelling around will it hasn't always been something that everybody's
07:29loved we've seen him go to the death riders and take a little bit of a darker path um i
07:35did an
07:35interview with him recently and he kind of explained why he felt like that was the best way
07:39to to go about it him and kenny have been on a 10-year journey together from from new japan
07:46where
07:46where he's you know chasing his idol i don't think there's any way he loses this match um this is
07:53really about crowning the next face of your company the torch being passed from from kenny
07:59to will as as the next generation of that style of wrestling that's come over from new japan
08:06um i think you have to send the people from wim wimbley home happy and you know you're probably
08:11getting a five or six star classic out of these guys and every time you think you know what you're
08:17going to get they they over deliver who do you think is going to win the aw world championship and
08:21matches on his card let us know in the comments below predictions and all in hit me up on instagram
08:26or or twitter i'd love to hear from you guys i had a chance to to interview will osprey uh
08:31going into
08:32this match we talked a lot about um his injury and his fears coming back from it that you know
08:38he
08:39couldn't even feel his uh his left hand and for a while he would lose his left arm in the
08:43ring we
08:44talked about what it would mean for him to win this after his his his parents you know kind of
08:51going out of their way to to set him on his wrestling journey at a very young age why kenny
08:56was the
08:56perfect opponent why this story was was the best one to tell um in his point of view and and
09:02what's
09:03waiting for him with mjf calling himself the real world champion will give a pretty uh
09:07pretty distinctive and and pretty uh interesting answer on that you know a lot of people felt like
09:13this you know on-screen journey here maybe needed to be more true true baby face make him the biggest
09:20baby face you can but obviously we took some you know darker turns with with joining the death riders
09:25and and seeing that side why did you feel like this was the story you guys needed to tell
09:30to to get you to you know maybe get you to the best position going into all in now uh
09:36great question
09:37uh it is one of those ones where it just fit right there for me it was something that like
09:43i i kind of
09:45wanted to experiment with and the idea of like learning from the guys that done the harm it was this
09:51kind of
09:52for me was like uh batman and the league of shadows and i wanted to like experiment along those lines
09:58with like trying to give my character a little bit of an edge and give it a little bit more
10:03tools to work with and because of that it was it was really good to have those pieces now that
10:11go
10:11into my ground game that go into my character's development um i could because as much as it is
10:17good being like the plucky baby face like i don't ever want to be like a pushover either say it
10:22was one of
10:23those ones where i i wanted an edge and i wanted a little bit of like darker tones to go
10:28in towards
10:28it but like obviously it never changes my personality my personality is like bright colors
10:34and uh and and making sure people have the best time watching like a wrestling event that only i can
10:41put
10:42out you know it was either kind of feeling like hey it was going to be kenny it was going
10:47to be max
10:47maybe for this match um obviously knowing you and kenny's history why did you feel like maybe that he
10:54was the best opponents where if i'm going to win the aw world title it should be from kenny omega
10:59because that's been my story for the last 10 years my story has started the moment i walked into new
11:07japan it was the start of the rise of kenny omega from that moment i knew what i wanted to
11:13be as a
11:14professional wrestler i knew how i wanted to present myself i knew how like i have taken great inspiration
11:19from kenny omega i followed him to a complete different country that's how much i've wanted
11:25this this has been for me yeah this has been a 10 year chase uh he's been a hero he's
11:32been an icon
11:32he's been a rival he's one of these people that i get great joy from wrestling and getting to learn
11:43as we go i'm now in a position where i feel like i'm ready for that responsibility and i'm ready
11:50for
11:50that torch to be passed kenny's now i think 42 years old um and this could potentially be one of
11:58the last times that he he has a world championship match this could actually be one of the last times
12:02that me and kenny actually share a ring together it's one of those things where it's been written in
12:09the stars for so long and it just feels so right that we had we had one match in recede
12:16california
12:16in the united states we've had one match in the tokyo dome in japan we've had one match in the
12:22scotia bank arena in toronto canada it just feels right that now it comes back to my home when when
12:29you
12:29come into this match obviously with the two of you there's there's this expectation of hey this is
12:33going to be like a six-star classic like this is you know going to be like the greatest match
12:37we've
12:37ever seen how do you guys deal with that pressure when when you know what the expectation is you
12:43know coming into something like this i feel like people think that they know what they get when it
12:49comes to the kenny omega and will osprey match and then the moment the bell rings it could go any
12:55way
12:55like no one knows what steps that we're going to take no one knows the the movements that we're going
13:01to make and no one knows the stories that we're going to tell but in every situation that we have
13:06found ourselves in when it is myself and kenny we have passed with flying colors um there are so
13:13many people now that are looking for simplicity when they come to the wrestling and they're looking
13:19towards the beautiful g1 final that just happened uh between oyua and yuya and it was such a fantastic
13:27phenomenal match with simplicity but i'm not a simplicity wrestler i'm an extremely complex wrestler
13:33i'm one of these people that you know a lot of people will be like i don't fear the the
13:38wrestler
13:39that has a thousand moves i fear the wrestler that has one move that is practiced a thousand times
13:43i'm a wrestler with a thousand moves that i've perfected a thousand times and perfected a thousand
13:48stories that have gone into it with me and kenny we are two of the most influential wrestlers of this
13:55generation uh and i say that with a lot of pride and a lot of confidence there is no arrogance
14:01when i say
14:02that it comes from a place where i have seen the the impact that we have made in the wrestling
14:08sphere
14:08and when you have an iconic stadium like wembley stadium it needs to be filled with an iconic match
14:16and every time we wrestle one another it's been a classic so now if this is generally where the
14:23best wrestle you put two of the best wrestlers in the main event and you see who comes out on
14:27top
14:28before even the surgery happens just how much you know pain were you you know wrestling in and what
14:34maybe limitations did that put on what you could do or how often you could wrestle
14:38oh so there wasn't any like i'd say there wasn't any limitations right because i just wrestled the same
14:47way like no matter how much pain that i was in i just kept doing what i was doing but
14:54there were
14:55signs and moments in the match where i i generally think uh i was in a lot of trouble um
15:01where i would
15:03fall on my back like it'd be mad i would land on my head and i'd be absolutely fine i'd
15:08be able to like
15:09fire through any of the pain but i would land on my back and i would lose my left arm
15:15completely or if i i
15:16would get hit from behind and my neck would jump back i would completely lose my left arm but like
15:23i
15:23never thought that it was anything to do with my nervous system i thought maybe i just had a stinger
15:27and i just needed to work through it it was only when it kind of came to like may june
15:33time i was
15:34really really struggling and like there would be points where i would be shopping with my now wife and
15:40my son and i would get horrendous shooting pains down my left arm um so then getting the surgery was
15:49like
15:50it was mind-blowing to me because it was a uh 10 years ago that was it like uh right
15:56cope had that
15:57surgery and had his career taken away from him brian had that surgery had his career taken away from
16:01him do you know what i mean yeah like there was a genuine fear that i don't know what i'm
16:07going to
16:07look like on the other side of this like am i actually even going to be able to wrestle ever
16:12again
16:12is there going to be limitations and and there are limitations like i can't look back all the way
16:18like i like like i used to like especially doing like a shooting star press i need to be able
16:23to
16:23throw my head back all the way i can't do that anymore but like i don't let that stop me
16:30from still
16:31being able to present people with the aerial assassin that they knew before it was a crazy feeling knowing
16:37that the surgery was done i woke up i saw my wife and the first thing i did was try
16:44and like move
16:45my hand and just feel my fingers again it was the first time i felt my my fingers and my
16:51hand
16:53in mumps like honestly the thing about like eight months i hadn't like had the sensation in my in my
17:00fingers in my left hand for like ages and then to wake up and to have that sensation back was
17:06truly like a
17:07blessing like i've never felt more happy in my life like i had tears coming down my eyes just because
17:12like i'd for ages i thought there was something wrong with me and i didn't want to accept that
17:17there was something wrong and then to finally have that relief was was something i can't even describe
17:23with the joy that i felt now more than ever like coming back from this surgery i i feel like
17:29it is now and
17:30it is my time to be in that main event and it is it is so appropriate to now be
17:37in the main events and
17:38have these matches where i can go against a kenny omega or i can go against a john moxley or
17:43i can go
17:44against an mjf and i have so many people that i could work with and to create top programs with
17:50along
17:50the way speaking of mjf he's he's walking around to call himself the one true champion here what do you
17:57think about that and you feel like that's something if you do you know when it all in is gonna
18:02have to
18:02get nipped in the bud pretty quickly here i think he's delusional being honest with you mate like i
18:07think honestly he's finally cracks like he's the type of person that like like he brought his own ball
18:14to school uh but he would change the rules like you know what i mean like you'd be playing football
18:20and
18:21he was like no the goalkeeper's not allowed to use his hands it's like yes he is and he's that
18:25kid
18:25like who's never been told no he's super insecure he's he's no like he's so talented
18:33and so confident yeah he he needs to feel like we are owed like we owe him our careers and
18:41we owe him
18:42this attraction and we owe him that and i'm being honest it was one of those things where like the
18:46moment that bell got taken away from him like i had a slight bit of joy the fact that he's
18:51running around
18:51with a championship that tony and the governing bodies of aew haven't taken from him i think that
18:59just shows how spoil and how um how uh what's the word i'm looking for um entitled that is the
19:09word
19:09i'm looking for entitled that he is in aew like this isn't the mjf vanity project this is where the
19:14best wrestle do you know what i mean have you thought about what that moment is gonna could be
19:19like when the bell rings and you're handed the aw world championship and what that could but that's
19:26gonna mean in that moment for you i don't want to think too much about it because like i feel
19:32like i
19:32want to let every bit of emotion come out if that moment does happen because for me this for
19:41for everyone else maybe this has been like a journey but this has been such a long time coming
19:46for me like i and like for my mom and my dad especially like my mom and dad saw that
19:53i was
19:53getting in trouble at school and i was being a little bit of a menace and they said how can
19:59we keep him
20:00off the streets and keep his mind occupied well he loves wrestling she knew like a fabricator and a
20:07holder and they made a wrestling ring and put it in my back garden and i came off the streets
20:11like
20:11honestly all of my mates like all of my little troublemaker mates all came to my garden we all just
20:17like done wrestling shows that we filmed and edited ourselves and like created our own storylines and
20:23and everything along those lines and from there to the independence from the uk and europe from there
20:32going over to japan and finding who i am as my as my own self and as a wrestler to
20:40now coming over to aew
20:43it's been a
20:47a 19 year journey in finding myself and finding the things that i love about this sport
20:58i don't want to think too much about it i'd rather just have that moment flash before my eyes
21:05well i appreciate a couple minutes i know we're all you know looking forward to what you and kenny give
21:11us and like you said our our expectations are high and i know you guys will will probably find a
21:16way to
21:16exceed them uh and obviously congratulations on all the success to to you know like you said after 19
21:21years to to get this moment for yourself hopefully man god bless you thank you very very much mate
