00:00Why not Andy Green?
00:01Now, someone would say, hey, he's been in the front office.
00:03He's been in player development.
00:05What's the role of a general manager if you're working under David Stearns?
00:08Well, David Stearns is going to need somebody who understands the player development.
00:12You can communicate with these players on a day to day.
00:15General managers do that.
00:16General managers roles can differ and vary from different teams in how they're sort of doing their role, depending on
00:23who's above them or underneath them.
00:25But as a general manager, he can be active in trade discussions.
00:29He knows the players.
00:30He understands what the Mets need.
00:31He can be very helpful as a voice in hiring a manager, right?
00:35This is something you can see.
00:36It wouldn't shock me if the Mets named Andy Green general manager.
00:40If the Mets really want to add more actual ballplayers, athletes in this mix, it goes without saying that's in
00:48hand because of where their shortcomings have been with people around David that maybe are too much of analytical ilk
00:53or too in-depth in the numbers
00:55and maybe not emphasize enough on the feel that you need for today's game.
01:00This is just something that's long overdue.
01:03This should have been happening, right?
01:04So, you know, it's better late than never, I suppose.
01:07But yeah, listen, this is less reading the tea leaves as it is decks.
01:11It's a foregone conclusion.
01:13Andy Green's going to be the Mets GM next year.
01:15That's what's going to happen.
01:16That's a thousand percent what's going to happen.
01:18There isn't a doubt in my mind.
