00:09Former Human Resources Minister M Saravanan confirms writing to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim over his graft charges, but denies seeking
00:18intervention to cover up the case.
00:20In a press conference, Saravanan said he had asked Anwar for a thorough review of his case, maintaining that the
00:28charges against him were not credible.
00:30The MIC Deputy President had earlier claimed trial to three counts of receiving RM1.097 million in bribes linked to
00:39foreign worker quota approvals.
00:42Saravanan maintained he felt no shame over the charges and was confident he would eventually be acquitted.
00:48The TAPA MP also reiterated that he did not know the individuals or corporate entities named in the charge sheet
00:56and was ready to cooperate fully.
00:59He urged the authorities not to delay proceedings, saying he wanted to clear his name in court as soon as
01:06possible.
01:07Saravanan added that by the end of the trial, the public would gain a clearer understanding of the realities of
01:15Malaysian politics and its politicians.
