00:00Plans to turn David Bowie's childhood home in south-east London into a visitor attraction
00:05have faced local opposition. The Heritage of London Trust wants to restore the house
00:10in Playstow Grove and build a small visitor centre in the garden. The Trust expects about
00:1620,000 visitors a year. Residents say the proposed entrance and parking arrangements
00:22could affect their residential street. The planning application also includes up to 10
00:28evening events each year for around 45 people. The Trust says the project would bring value to the
00:34area and reduce its impact on neighbours. Bromley Council has received 58 objections
00:39and seven letters of support. A decision is expected in late September.
