00:00I don't think it's hyperbole to say this is a series that will dictate where and in what round the
00:07New York Yankees play postseason baseball.
00:08That's just, it's just straight cut and simple.
00:12If the Yankees do anything other than at least get a split, and maybe even a split isn't good enough,
00:17considering it would give the Boston Red Sox the tiebreaker advantage,
00:21so all they would have to do is tie the Yankees and be two games better than them the rest
00:25of the way to earn the top wildcard spot.
00:27But this is the series that will determine whether the Yankees are playing at home in the first round,
00:34whether have a chance at the division, or whether we'll be going on the road to Fenway,
00:37which you know me, I'm as positive as a Yankee fan can be, which I think too many of you
00:42are not.
00:44But as positive I am, the one thing, and I've been saying this for a long time,
00:48the Boston Red Sox have been one of the hottest teams in baseball over the last two months.
00:52There's no doubt about it.
00:53And this all started the last time they had a four-game set in Fenway.
00:56I was there, luckily enough, in Boston to witness that disaster.
01:01As the last time they got ready for a four-game set,
01:04the New York Yankees were 15 and a half games better than the Boston Red Sox.
01:1015 and a half games better.
01:12Today, as they enter this four-game set, they're two.
01:16That is astounding.
01:18That is incredible.
01:19That's as much the Yankees' fault as it is the Red Sox playing well, no doubt.
01:23And as they head into this series that, again, is this important?
01:27And to me, the one thing I don't want to do, right?
01:30You all want to win the division, obviously.
01:32You want to get the bye.
01:34You want to be waiting for the wild-card winner.
01:36And as much as the Yankees have actually been a better road team than they've been a home team this
01:40year,
01:40the last thing you want to do is go into Fenway for a wild-card series against this team,
01:46the way they're playing, and the left-handed pitchers that they throw out at you.
01:50And the-
