00:05exist even till a few decades back. Why? Because the wall of these lakes is simply loose rock
00:14and gravel and the debris from the melting glacier. These lakes are only getting bigger
00:22and bigger every passing year because the glacier is melting more and more. These glacial
00:29lakes, they are sitting over entire villages. They are also sitting over dams, over power
00:35projects, hydroelectric projects. These lakes have to collapse sooner than later. Today,
00:43tomorrow, next month, two years later, five years later, when the lake collapses, everything
00:47that will be in the way of this water will be swept away. In fact, the last flood on the
00:53same river was because a glacial lake in Tibet over flew because of temperature rise. So
01:01we got a flood. And now we have thousands of these glacial lakes. And these glacial lakes
01:08are very, very unstable. Very unstable.
