00:17It was the opening day of the New Year's Test.
00:19Always a special test in the calendar for the players.
00:22Australia 2-0 up in the series and making three changes to their line-up.
00:26Cameron Green and Mitch Stark out to injury.
00:28So in would come Matt Renshaw and Ashton Agar returning to the Test team for the first time in over
00:33five years.
00:34Josh Hazlewood was deemed fit to play so he would come in at the expense of Scott Boland.
00:39For South Africa, two changes for them as Heinrich Klassen was into the side at number three in place of
00:45Theonis Debrayne.
00:46And spin preferred to pace with Simon Harmer coming in for Lungi Nguidi.
00:50Here's what happened in the first session.
00:53Your home of cricket Australia have won the toss, Pat Cummins.
00:58It's the fifth time this summer in five tests that the Australian captain, be it Pat Cummins or Steve Smith
01:03once, has won the toss.
01:06And Pat decided to bat first on a Sydney cricket ground pitch that looks like it could prove challenging.
01:12We'll have to wait and see.
01:13It's a lot of grass on there.
01:14It's been dry throughout the matches here throughout this summer.
01:19Due to a troublesome period of time for the curator to regrow the grass.
01:23It's been a busy period with the World Cup.
01:26But whatever the case, Australia will come out.
01:28It'll be David Warner with Usman Khawaja.
01:32Two hometown heroes.
01:33And we cannot wait to see how they tackle this South African line-up.
01:38Healthy crowd already in.
01:40They'll continue to flow in.

01:47A little bit of shape, but it travels down the leg side.
01:49And that there, Mark Waugh, has been a common problem for Pegiso Rabada, starting his spells.
01:56Well, he bowled six down the leg side in the previous test match, in the first over.
02:00So he really needs to be switched on early, Rabada.
02:03I know he's got some wickets in this series.
02:04But for mine, he's been one of the most disappointing bowlers in the South African line-up.
