Residents across Pennsylvania witnessed a fascinating atmospheric phenomenon as large circular gaps appeared in the cloud layer.
The holes can form when an aircraft passes through supercooled water droplets, triggering them to freeze into ice crystals. The crystals then fall from the cloud, leaving behind the distinctive circular or oval opening.
