00:00If you've been wondering which diet actually helps your liver and blood sugar the most,
00:04a new clinical trial has an answer. Researchers at Washington University School of Medicine
00:09put a ketogenic diet head-to-head against a Mediterranean diet and a low-fat,
00:15plant-forward diet in 42 adults with obesity, prediabetes, and fatty liver disease.
00:21All three groups lost about the same amount of weight, around 10% of their body weight,
00:25over 4-5 months, but the keto group saw dramatically better results elsewhere.
00:30Liver fat dropped by 67%, compared to 45% on the other two diets.
00:36Even more striking, half of the keto dieters saw their prediabetes reverse completely,
00:41compared to just 29% on the Mediterranean diet and only 7% on the low-fat plan.
00:47Researchers say the findings suggest what you eat matters just as much as how much weight you lose.
