How did Roman soldiers sleep when they were marching through enemy territory?

Roman armies built organized temporary camps during campaigns, often constructing defensive ditches and palisades and arranging tents inside the camp. Sources describe soldiers sharing tents, while guards and sentries protected gates and defensive positions at night.

Later descriptions commonly associate eight legionaries with a tent, although the exact arrangement varied by period and camp.

This Empire Echo reconstruction uses next-level 3D CGI, photorealistic Roman environments, glowing firelight, blue moonlight, volumetric beams, glowing particles, metallic reflections, cinematic camera movement and immersive night-time sound design.
