Col. Boransing declines to give reaction on P15.5M confidential fund spending for youth summits

Col. Manaros Boransing II on Tuesday, Sept. 1, declined to give his reaction to the alleged P15.5 million in confidential funds spent by the Department of Education (DepEd) for the 2023 Youth Leadership Summits (YLS) when asked by Senator-Judge Bam Aquino.  Aquino pressed Boransing about his reaction after the witness testified that the Philippine Army spent only around P30,000 to P60,000 for each of the eight YLS activities, with the military’s total budget not exceeding P500,000. Boransing said he did not think he should react as an active member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), noting that the impeachment trial is ongoing and the COA decision is not yet final.
