00:19I'm from Venezuela.

00:28Well, I started acting as eight years old, and it's been a long journey.
00:34It's been a lot of no's, but it's also been a lot of yeses and a lot of blessings that
00:39I've been given.
00:40And I've been able to do three movies now, the latest one being Brownsville Bread.
00:47And I've done a lot of commercials as well.
00:49And I'm just really excited to continue my career as an actress, and hopefully pursue one in singing as well.

00:58Singing, that comes from where?
00:59I know that dad and mama here, you know, familia, talk to me.
01:04Where does that come from?
01:05Well, I think both my parents are very talented, mostly from my dad, though.
01:10He used to do theater as a kid.
01:12And also my brother does singing as well, and he's a really important person in my life.
01:16Beautiful, beautiful.
01:17So the movie, tell me, what inspiration, I know you had Elaine there, but was there anything that helped you
01:25prepare for that role?
01:26I think definitely, obviously Elaine helped me a lot, but also being in Puerto Rico, it helped me just get
01:33a sense of the beautiful culture that there is.
01:36And it was amazing to be able to experience the way they speak, the way they all are.
01:43I think Puerto Rico is a very joined community, and I think everybody should learn from how big of a
01:49family it is.
01:50And I think also another inspiration was seeing how my parents are and being able to connect with another family,
01:58but also seeing my family in the film as well.

02:02And also the cast, they have awesome personalities, and I was able to really connect with them.

02:12I saw so much growth in that film from you.
02:15Like, I don't know the timeline when the scenes were done, but that last scene that I cried.
02:19I cried two or three times.
02:21When you call and you find out something, I don't want to give up the film, but I cried so
02:27much.
02:27I think that, was there, did you feel like you were growing in the film?
02:30I did feel like I was growing in the film.
02:32I felt like Elaine helped me a lot to really get out of my box and really learn how much
02:41talent I have inside of me if I was just directed correctly.
02:44And I feel like she really, really got the best out of me.
02:49And I think I really grew from that.
02:52I learned lessons from the film, and it was amazing.
02:55What makes a great director in your experience so far?
03:00I think it's being there with the actor and really helping them get the emotion.
03:08She also helped me a lot with crying techniques.
03:11I think it's very important to get along with your director and for them to be patient.
03:18And that's what Elaine was.
03:19She was amazing.
03:20I think she helped me get in the right mind space for every difficult scene I needed to do.
03:27And she's the best actor, a director I've had.
03:31And I know that she's going to get really far.

03:36One of the things that I want to talk to you about is also being an immigrant, right?
03:41Like, we're both immigrants, right?
03:43I came here when I was 11.
03:44You came here when you were six.
03:46So being an immigrant representing immigrants that I weigh, is that something that you think
03:51about in your state here?
03:55I do think about it.
03:57I think us immigrants get a bad reputation, and we're perceived in a certain way.
04:04But I came here to follow my dreams.
04:08My parents came here to give me and my brother a better life, and I plan on doing the best
04:17that I can to make that worth it.
04:20And I represent every single immigrant with every project I do.
04:24I represent Venezuela, my country.
04:26I represent Puerto Rico.
04:28I represent all of these countries that don't get to have a voice just because they can't
04:34come here doesn't mean that they can't pursue their dreams.
04:37I'll give every single Latino a voice as much as I can.
