00:00What's up everyone, welcome back to the channel. Today we are taking a look at a serious outdoor

00:07security camera system called the Botlab W510, and it's a dual solar AI security camera system.

00:15Now keeping your home safe shouldn't feel like a full-time job. You don't want to be constantly

00:20climbing ladders to check your camera power supply, or running untidy wires throughout your

00:26house, or paying $15 a month just to view your own security camera footage. Botlab promises to solve

00:33all these three headaches with 4K capture recording, continuous solar powered operation,

00:39with the option to use wired charging also, and local storage hub integration. So let's dive

00:46right into the unboxing and let's see what comes in this package. So don't go anywhere, that's up next.

01:05And welcome back after that quick unboxing. So in this purchase you get a pair of W510 camera units.

01:14These feel very solid and hefty. They carry an IP66 rating which means rain, wind, or baking heat

01:24won't be an issue. A pair of 5W solar panels. Each camera gets its own dedicated solar panel with

01:32adjustable mounting hardware and long USB type-c cables with weather sealed connection caps.

01:39You get the home base hub. This is the central brain of the system. It connects directly to your

01:45network and handles all your processing and local recording internally.

01:49And finally you get mounting kits and accessories. You get wall anchors, screws, positioning stickers,

01:58a pair of USB type-c charging cables, an ethernet cable for the hub, and the power adapter.

02:06Everything feels well constructed and ready for proper outdoor deployment.

02:11Let's now talk design and specs starting with the camera.

02:15This is an 8MP 4K Ultra HD camera and sensor. And from doing my own research, 8MP is the baseline

02:25that can deliver 4K Ultra HD, the quality of which we will see in just a moment. You get up

02:31to 8 times

02:32digital zoom within the BudsLab app for inspecting license plates and distant details. It features a

02:39motorized 360 degrees horizontal pan and wide angle tilt motor with continuous auto tracking for detected objects.

02:48For spotlights and night vision, it comes equipped with standard infrared for covert black and white

02:55night recording plus high lumen wide LED spotlights for color night vision up to 33 feet 10 meters.

03:02It features intelligent threat response, where the spotlights double as an active defense deterrence.

03:09When AI detects an intruder or suspicious activity at night, it automatically triggers the bright LED

03:16spotlights and a siren to deter trespassers. It also features a two-way audio system. Built into this camera

03:24the camera is a noise cancelling microphone and high output loudspeaker. This provides real-time full

03:31duplex communication controlled via its smartphone app. And with AI voice alerts, it works alongside the

03:39BudsLab IQ AI engine to send automated custom audio warnings directly through the speaker,

03:46when restricted boundaries such as swimming pools or driveways are crossed.

03:51Inside the housing, each camera contains a massive 10,000 milliamp hour internal battery.

03:57On its own, this battery can run the device for months. But when you hook it up to the included

04:045

04:04watts solar panel, you basically create a set it and forget it setup. So as long as your installation

04:11position catches a couple of hours of ambient sunlight during the day, the battery stays topped up

04:17automatically. No wiring to your home's electrical system, and no taking down cameras every few weeks

04:23just to plug them into a watt socket. However, if this camera is mounted indoors, you do have the

04:30option to provide charging power via its USB type C charging port. To the back of each camera's housing is

04:38a water protected on off switch and a USB type C charging port. If you rotate the camera itself vertically,

04:46you will access its manual reset button and water protected compartment that provides a slot for

04:52independent recording via a micro SD card slot. The home base itself is much like your conventional

04:59NVR but slightly different. At the back is where you'll find a camera synchronization button,

05:06a USB port, a LAN port, and its DC input socket. It does not contain a display port,

05:13as everything is viewed via the mobile app. With that said, in my opinion I would have preferred the

05:19option of a standard HDMI port. To its base has four rubber feet and vents for the internal speaker and

05:26for ventilation. At the top is a compartment for inserting a laptop size hard drive or SSD. However,

05:34this is optional as the home base has 32GB built-in storage. But if you need longer recording periods,

05:42you have the option to install up to 16TB. It has a building cooling fan that only activates when you

05:51install an external hard drive. The included bracket allows you to install the camera vertically flat

05:57against a surface or from a top down position such as from a ceiling. Once installed the camera attaches

06:05itself to the bracket using a simple twist and lock mechanism. The bracket for the solar panel

06:11can be mounted directly on top of the camera with screws or separately on any surface and can be

06:18configured in any angle to capture sunlight. The length of the cable allows you to install the solar

06:24panel away from the camera up to 9 feet 108 inches.

06:39Out of the box both cameras come pre-charged, but it's recommended that you charge them before installation.

06:47Once you connect the USB type C charging cable to the back of the camera you will see a red

06:53LED

06:53signaling that it's in charging mode. Once the LED changes from red to blue the battery is fully charged.

07:01The cameras are already paired to the home base and once you connect to the home base and turn it

07:07on,

07:07each camera will automatically connect to the home base with a voice audio alert. If for any reason

07:13you lose connection to the home base to regain connection you press the reset button on the

07:18camera and the synchronize button on the home base to regain connection.

07:24So I went ahead and installed the cameras close to the roadway to capture as much activity as

07:30possible for this demonstration. I must say these cameras look pretty high-tech and they catch the

07:36attention of everyone which will also include potential intruders and act as a deterrent.

09:55In the main section of the dashboard is where you can view,

09:59sort and configure all your cameras and the base station.

10:03You can change the layout from a grid layout to list all cameras vertically.

10:09You can sort the order of the cameras.

10:13And depending on how many you have installed,

10:16you can install and create groups under the group management feature.

10:22For quick live full screen viewing and to use the two-way calling intercom feature,

10:28simply tap this small video play button next to the menu button

10:31and it will take you directly to all cameras.

10:34To view all cameras full screen in a grid format you simply toggle the switch right here.

10:40And you can tap on each camera to display them in full screen.

10:56Let's now look at the features and settings for each camera.

11:00At the center you have a direction pad to manually control the PTZ of the selected camera.

11:24You have a calibration feature which will quickly cycle through the PTZ rotation.

11:46You can set multiple favorite spots for the camera to return to after an auto tracking detection.

12:01To change the display capture quality of the camera simply select the display feature right here,

12:08and select your preferred resolution.

12:10As advertised you can select up to 4K UHD display quality.

12:18You get up to 8X zoom.

12:31And in a little menu in the top right corner, you can set target box region and adjust the box

12:38region

12:38to trigger the alert once the AI detects a person, animal, or object entering the targeted region.

12:45For video playback you simply select the local menu tab and you can view all your captured events.

12:53On the bottom menu you can manually record and capture.

12:57You can take a snapshot.

13:00You can turn on live audio.

13:03You can manually trigger the alarm.

13:05You can manually turn on the spotlight.

13:08You can use voice modulation for the intercom system or you can use your normal voice.

13:16And you have the phone icon which will manually activate two-way calling.

13:23If you click the gears icon for each camera you will access its advanced features.

13:30You can manually toggle the camera on or off.

13:33You have detection settings where you can select the camera to detect or not to detect a motion,

13:40persons, you can enable intelligent alarm, vehicle recognition, vehicle protection,

13:47you can adjust the range, you can schedule surveillance,

13:52you can set your detected zones to only capture a certain area of the display.

14:03And you have a smart event detection feature.

14:09Under battery management you can set cameras to only stream but not record or capture events.

14:16You have battery saving mode which limits recordings to 30 seconds.

14:21You have recording mode to record up to 60 seconds.

14:26You have custom settings where you can adjust the duration of the recordings

14:30as well as the intervals between recordings.

14:33You have low power battery protection.

14:37And you have a guide using your mobile phone to adjust the solar panel for the best sunlight angle.

14:46You can enable AI tracking.

14:49And this is not your usual tracking.

14:52It tracks and also tells you what was tracked.

14:56Under AI skills it's like a mini AI store to add intelligent tracking features most of which are free.

15:03But there are those additional AI features you can purchase.

15:08You have its night vision settings where you can select between automatic full color night vision.

15:14This mode will automatically turn on the spotlight when it detects a movement to capture an event.

15:27Infrared night vision.

15:28Disables the spotlight but turns on infrared mode only.

15:43You have auto feature to automatically select between the two modes.

15:52And you can disable night vision if the area is well lit during the nighttime.

15:57Which will allow you to capture in full color.

16:27You have some audio settings.

16:30And you have the option to set the default view which I already showed you.

16:34But this one uses a different interface.

16:40Below that you have some system features such as notifications and alerts.

16:47Privacy zone where you can hide certain regions to not get captured.

16:51You have firmware updates.

16:54You can change the Wi-Fi connection to the cameras.

16:58Under general features you get voice assistant features such as Alexa and Google home assistant.

17:05You can view the model and information about each camera.

17:10You can view the Wi-Fi connection to the home base.

17:14Please note home base can only connect to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection and it does not support

17:215G.

17:22You can also provide connection via a LAN cable.

17:26You have an installation guide.

17:29You get an online user manual.

17:32You get customer support.

17:34And under other settings you have some additional anti-flicker settings for each camera.

17:43The home base itself has its own features and settings.

17:47You can safely share and grant access to other parties or family members.

17:52You have an operational manual for the home base.

17:56You can access your purchase AI skills from the bots lab store.

18:00You can enable face management which will remember frequent visitors to your premises.

18:07You can add multiple Wi-Fi connections to automatically switch between them in the event one goes down.

18:13And you have other settings.

18:16On the main home base section you can view all videos on its internal storage and connected storage.

18:23You can manually delete all captured footage at once.

18:27You can manage the familiar faces library.

18:30And one of its most popular feature is cross camera tracking.

18:35This feature uses AI to automatically angle cameras to detect movements from one area to another

18:41and stitch videos together.

18:44So smart features are where this system really shines.

18:47Thanks to bots lab IQ, the camera intelligently filters out false alarms.

18:54It recognizes the difference between a person, a vehicle, or a stray animal.

18:59So you won't get spammed with notifications each time a tree branch sways in the wind.

19:04Even more impressive is that the AI can identify in detail what it captures.

19:10Whether it's a person, a person holding an object, a person with a knapsack, a vehicle, a vehicle with a

19:18person in it, and more.

19:20It's truly impressive how the AI can identify and list in detail what it captures which is very helpful in

19:26filtering and finding important footage.

19:29If you run multiple cameras, the system uses cross camera tracking.

19:34If someone walks across your driveway and heads around to the backyard.

19:39The home base links those clips together into one continuous timeline.

20:05There are two things that may be a deal breaker for some and the first one is continuous monitoring.

20:12Monitoring via your mobile phone with AI alerts is excellent.

20:15However, there are those who prefer the conventional way of viewing security footage continuously via a

20:21big screen TV or a monitor via an HDMI output.

20:25The home base does not have an HDMI output.

20:28And in order to live preview on a big screen, you have to connect to the home base using an

20:34Android TV box or connect your mobile phone in desktop mode or screen mirroring to a monitor like

20:40I did in this review.

20:42That's why I said earlier in the video you can download the bots lab app from alternative

20:47APK app stores such as Aptoid and APK pure because the app is not available on the Google

20:53play store when you search for it on an Android TV box.

20:57The other issue is that even if you manage to get it running on an Android TV box to view

21:02on a big

21:02screen you cannot monitor the cameras live for any length of time because the cameras go into

21:08battery saving mode and do not automatically trigger into live preview when it detects a new event.

21:14You will actually have to press the play button to turn on the cameras to preview.

21:18So monitoring at home hands-free live on a big screen is difficult.

21:24So viewers, there you have it.
