Taking inspiration from dark-tinged teen films like ‘Carrie’ and ‘Jennifer’s Body,’ Netflix’s ‘The Body’ (November 11), follows a group of Catholic school girls grappling with spooky visions and a ritual grown awry. Starring an ensemble cast of YA favorites like Sofia Wylie, plus ‘Traitors’ and ‘Bachelorette’ alum Gabby Windey, ‘The Body’ will certainly thrust Marcel Ruiz into the spotlight. The Puerto Rican actor, and member of InStyle’s 2026 Breakthrough List, first came on the scene in the four-season family comedy ‘One Day at a Time,’ and he currently stars in ‘Summer of Three,’ which earned two prestigious awards at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival.
