00:00Sung Jae Im at 9th, Ryo Satsune at 10th.
00:02I did have Jason Day on, but that is a fair point,
00:05remembering those comments he made after Sedgefield
00:06about how beat up he was, so could potentially swap him out.
00:10And then I went to Aldrick Potkeeter at 14.
00:13I just think that's a guy that, again, you really can't afford
00:16to necessarily make a developmental pick,
00:18but just a guy that is phenomenally talented
00:20and more experienced in this competition
00:21should lead to experience that could serve them well in the long run.
00:27Passed over Casey Jarvis at 12th
00:28simply because most of his experience is on the DP World Tour.
00:32And then, golly, it pains me to not select 27th on this points list,
00:37Haotong Lee.
00:38Need Haotong to get it back, man.
00:39He had a tough little finish of the year,
00:41and I'm pulling for him to turn around.
00:43Yeah, I'm sitting here looking at Casey Jarvis
00:45of how he's so high up on the standings.
00:48I mean, really, a T6 of the Open Championship was huge
00:50in kind of getting him up the points list.
00:53Not overly impressive when you kind of look at the rest of it.
00:56But it doesn't appear to be...
00:59Dude, I'll tell you the start of the year Haot,
01:00who is another South African that is of this Jaden Shaper.
01:04He was off to a really hot start.
01:07And I don't think he played great in any of his major exemptions.
01:09But if you're looking at South Africans,
01:11that might be the direction I'd go if I was taking a flyer.
01:14Yeah, no, it's definitely like a question mark with Casey,
01:20with just kind of looking at is a guy who hasn't necessarily played
01:26a ton on the PGA Tour, how are they going to stack up going...
01:29If he gets paired up against Scotty Scheffler,
01:31is he going to look like a ghost out there, right?
01:35Yeah, yeah.
01:36At least Aldrich Potkater sees Scotty Scheffler every week.
01:40That's a good argument that you're making there.
01:42Yeah, I am.
01:43But I'm going to go with a flyer there.
01:46And that's the thing.
01:48You have to play 10 guys and they have five matches every single day.
01:53I mean, you technically could...
01:55If there's like a number 11 and a number 12 guy
01:58that you just don't feel comfortable with
01:59and you can just ride your team the whole week,
02:01that's the thing with Americans.
02:02They can just kind of cycle through like,
02:05hey, everybody's going to play either three or four matches.
02:07Nobody's going to play five.
02:08And the internationals may not have that luxury.
02:12Quite as much.
02:13Clearly very top heavy, meaning that top half is very, very strong
02:18and capable of winning plenty of matches.
02:20And we saw what happened in Montreal.
02:23They were right there, man.
02:24And we'll see.
02:26I think with Chicago, with this team,
02:29once it gets kind of put together,
02:31it's going to be kind of a fun exercise for us
02:33to kind of look at it as a group to see how they'll mesh.
02:36Snedds, I think, will make for a great captain.
02:38They have good assistant captains.
02:39And Chicago, interesting to see like how big those crowds will be.
02:43Like, are they going to get a huge footprint out there?
02:45You think that they would when you think about all the events
02:48that have happened at Medina, Chicago being a huge sports town.
02:51The weather should be amazing in late fall,
02:53but it's also during football season.
02:55So it would be interesting to see kind of how that would shake out.
02:58Yeah, if the Bears were in Indiana, it would be so much easier.
03:00They'd just be so much further away.
03:01So that's my topical joke.
03:05My little snipe there of the Bears stadium situation.
03:08Yeah, just a reminder to watch those President's Cup captains picks live
03:13Tuesday, September 1st, 5 p.m. Eastern on the Golf Channel.
03:17We'll be tuned in.
03:18Very excited to see how those go.
03:19So...
