00:00This video of me is completely AI generated and this is just one example of how realistic
00:07AI generated videos have become at a click of a button. We've seen a massive rise in AI generated
00:14footage coming out of places that are for example experiencing a natural disaster like we saw with
00:20the floods in Nepal and also out of war zones like in Iran. So how can you tell if a
00:26video is
00:27AI generated or original? This was the last video I chose to investigate. I scrubbed through this
00:34very slowly and I noticed that in this video the car seemed to disappear completely as it was hit
00:40by a wave which I didn't think looked realistic. This was my first red flag. Next I download the
00:47video and put it through Google Gemini. Google Gemini found that this video was AI generated and
00:53also had fake audio and it gives you lots of detail on how it came to that conclusion but I
00:59never rely on just one AI detection tool. They're never a hundred percent. So then I put it through
01:04Resemble AI. Now this one is paid for but there are loads of free AI detection tools you can use
01:10too.
01:11Resemble also found it to be AI generated. Then I take a screenshot of the video and I put that
01:17through
01:17Google reverse image search. That way you can get a much broader understanding of how far this video
01:23spread, who was the original poster and also how other social media platforms are viewing it. Are they
01:30flagging it as AI generated? In this instance I found another post on X with the same video. Grok
01:37had also flagged it as AI generated. So that's my process for figuring out whether a video is real or
01:43fake.
01:43Look for visual clues, use multiple AI detection tools and always try to find the original source.
