00:10The mission of the 341st Security Forces Group is to defend the Malmstrom Community and the
00:15Nuclear Assurity Mission. This is the largest group on Malmstrom Air Force Base, made up of
00:20five unique squadrons. Three of those squadrons, the 341st, 741st and 841st, are tactical squadrons.
00:27Those squadrons are primarily focused on missile field defense in the complex. Their sole purpose is
00:33to deploy out to the missile complex for a set number of days and provide security for both
00:37maintenance and operations. The Missile Security Operations Squadron is our garrison support
00:44squadron. They also oversee CRF and TRF. They run training, they manage our vehicle fleet, really the
00:50heart blood of the group. And then our base side law enforcement, the 341st Security Forces Squadron,
00:56handles base side law enforcement, base side defense, access control, and our security for
01:01our weapons storage area.
01:06The fact that we have young airmen fresh out of high school coming in to guard the most dangerous
01:13weapon system known to mankind. We have a lot of trust and confidence in their capabilities,
01:18but we also understand the challenge and ensuring that they're prepared daily and that they're armed
01:25with the knowledge and the capability, the competence to perform that role.
01:31I think it's important to stress the urgency and the importance of the mission every single day.
01:36Yes, doing the one job day to day might seem a little bit boring, a little bit mundane. You get
01:40used
01:41to your work rest cycles and the things that you have to accomplish, but reminding them that they're
01:46playing a role in what is a huge strategic asset for our political and strategic military leaders
01:52around the world. One of the most complicated things we do at Mountain Street Air Force Base is the
01:58convoy movement. So moving assets from the base to the missile complex and back again. Multi-faceted,
02:04multi-organization effort in no least amount of criticality is the 40th helicopter squadron.
02:29The mission of the 40th helicopter squadron is to use the MH-139 to deter, detect, and defend. So
02:35deter aggression, detect opposition, and defend our nation's nuclear arsenal. We provide the largest
02:40missile field in the free world with a rapid integrated security response 24-7-365. Whether it be a
02:48security incident in the missile field or supporting a civilian search and rescue effort, we train and
02:53execute those mission sets constantly and the 40th has a long and proud history of getting the job done
02:58when it counts.
03:02My team has a tactical response force. We support the larger goal of strategic deterrence by allowing
03:07the PL-1 movements, bringing resources to and from their launch facilities, making sure that they get
03:13there safe and sound as airborne fire teams. And it's a pretty interesting thing to see those
03:18helicopters overhead as they're flying through the missions and through these rural towns. It just
03:23kind of reminds everybody to be like, hey, we're watching, don't try anything funny.
