00:05neglecting a patient in Wirral. Lawrence Chapong failed to carry out five-minute observations
00:11on 22-year-old Amy Barber at Brooklyn's Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit in Wirral in June 2022.
00:19The court heard Miss Barber was not checked for 24 minutes before another nurse found her
00:24and emergency procedures began. Chapong later completed observation records which falsely
00:31suggested checks had taken place, with CCTV showing they had not. The judge said she held
00:36a grudge against Miss Barber following an earlier complaint. Chapong denied the charge but was
00:41convicted following a trial.
