00:01It is a great honor to be here today with you. In 2018 at Sandhurst, Teresa you
00:13probably remember like me, I announced that we would work together towards
00:18bringing the Bayeux tapestry to the United Kingdom. It has required a
00:27little patience. Then again one does not move an artwork nearly a thousand years
00:35old lightly and today here it is. At the British Museum, this exceptional place
00:43where artworks tell the stories of civilizations and humanity, the tapestry
00:49fits right in. For it is much more than just a linen canvas
00:57embroidered with wool. It represents a whole chapter of French, British and
01:05European history. But what we do know is that the epic it tells bound our
01:11cultures, our histories and our destinies together.
