A man who had lost his best-friend dog of 14 years cried tears of happiness when his wife surprised him with a new puppy. Blain Reid, from D'Iberville, Mississippi, had previous dog, Jak, right by his side during some of the most formative years of his life. The long-haired Dachshund was with Blain throughout college, young adulthood and when his son came into the world. Having built up such a strong bond over nearly a decade and a half, Blain was left devastated when Jak passed away. Over the two years that followed, Blain took his time to move on, but one day he let slip to his wife, Devin, that he thought he was ready. He revealed if he had a new dog, he would call it Diesel, and so Devin secretly got to work on finding her husband a new best-friend pooch. Having found a reputable breeder, Devin an English Cream Dachshund, and drove home where she presented Blain with a gift bag, which he opened to discover a dog collar with the name "Diesel" on it.
