Severe storms brought flooding and hail to Toronto on Sept. 2, 2026 with video showing water covering roads and inundating a bus. The footage also showed hail falling across the Canadian city as vehicles moved through streets lashed by heavy rain and strong winds. Reuters was able to confirm the location and date from original file metadata. Buildings, trees, the road layout and a signboard also matched archive imagery of the area. The storm damaged buildings, closed roads, disrupted transit and caused widespread power outages across the Greater Toronto Area, authorities said.

Public opinion of the two chambers of Congress moved in opposite directions in the second quarter of 2026. That’s according to the latest survey of OCTA Research. The survey showed that trust in the Senate fell from 44 percent in the first quarter to 41 percent in the second quarter. In contrast, trust in the House increased from 36 percent to 38 percent. OCTA Research says the survey period overlapped with the Senate leadership change and the opening of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte. The survey has one-thousand two-hundred respondents. It has a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
