00:00The Venezuelan government strengthens its energy ties following the signing of agreements with the U.S. and Italian companies in
00:07the oil and electricity sectors.
00:09More details in the following report.
00:15Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodriguez, led the signing ceremony with the Italian company INI and the U.S. companies Chevron
00:23and General Electric, accompanied by officials from Washington and Rome.
00:34This is a historic day because of the combination of these agreements and what they entail, agreements to develop untapped
00:40oil fields.
00:41We've been saying for decades that Venezuela wasn't developing untapped oil fields, and we are doing so in partnership with
00:47Allies, Chevron, a U.S. company that has been in Venezuela for over a century.
00:54Eni, an Italian company that has been in Venezuela for over three decades, and in collaboration with major international companies.
01:07Claudio Descalzi, executive director of INI, emphasized that these agreements are the result of months of intense work and dialogue
01:16between the parties,
01:17united by the goal of building a solid partnership, focused on increasing the production of the South American nation's resources.
01:27This ceremony marks a milestone in the beginning of a new historic phase of growth and a new sense of
01:32confidence in Venezuela's energy future.
01:38These agreements are the result of months of intense work, dialogue, and cooperation among the parties involved,
01:44who share a common goal, that is, a solid partnership focused on creating long-term value and rapid growth in
01:49the production of Venezuela's magnificent resources.
02:02In addition, U.S. Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, emphasized that the agreement signed today with Chevron, INI, and General
02:10Electric
02:10will represent tens of trillions of dollars in direct investments for Venezuela.
02:36That's direct investment, but the spillover impacts will be enormous in the electricity grid, in oil and gas production,
02:45and in the economy as a whole.
02:49In this regard, Caracas reaffirmed that it has always been willing to cooperate, noting that agreements with other nations around
02:57the world were interrupted
02:58by the coercive measures imposed by the United States on the Venezuelan economy.
03:03In this regard, Caracas reaffirmed that it has always been able to prepare, the discussions with Muhammadiyah.
