00:00Syria's comeback is meaningful not only to Syrians. Syria has been isolated from its immediate region.
00:09And in that sense, the region has been deprived of Syria as much as Syria has been deprived of the
00:15region.
00:16So speaking of data corridors, I mean, that's a concept that became more prevalent and important over the past 15
00:25years.
00:25Syria was absent. Logistics, Syria was absent. So that gateway to the Mediterranean also was absent.
00:34And in trying to align interests with our regional partners, that takes belief in the new Syria.
00:45So even if interests were aligned, still it takes a leap of faith so that you are there at the
00:51outset.
00:52And Saudi Arabia has been there at the outset. So it's not only about bringing capital from Saudi Arabia.
01:02Investment is not really necessarily only about capital. Capital is an important part.
01:07But what Saudi Arabia has done over the past 15 years, the same period that Syria was isolated from the
01:15world, was to really rebuild the nation also in a different way, on different rules, with a different ambition.
01:25So that process that Saudi Arabia has done successfully and delivered a new country for its citizens and for the
01:34region.
01:34And raising the bar, saying that this is possible, is something that Saudi Arabia comes to Syria with.
01:41So those institutions that deliver those plans, those individuals that power those institutions, and obviously the investments behind them.
01:51So when we look at Saudi Arabia, we look at it as a partner of choice in all of these
01:58aspects.
01:58And it's been really heartwarming to see that in addition to Saudi Arabia believing in Syria's new beginning, they also
02:08look at Syria as a partner of choice in extending their ambitions to new levels now with the cooperation that
02:16we have with them.
