03:50Do you like those kind of expectations going into a season, or do you feel like expectations like that sometimes
03:55are the recipe for getting the rug pulled out from under you?
03:59Well, in five years when I was in school, that was our expectation because, you know what, we didn't get
04:05a ring and we didn't get jack crap if we didn't win a national championship.
04:08So, yeah, I mean, that's what you want the expectations to be.
04:13I think that, listen, their schedule, they're the class of the ACC.
04:18You know, I've said it before, their tough game is going to be going on the road to Notre Dame,
04:22going on the road to Clemson.
04:25The thing I don't necessarily like is all the smoke being blown up there you-know-whats right now because
04:31I think kids today, they read a lot of this stuff.
04:37The social media, they're into it, and the minute you start doing that, and it doesn't matter what level of
04:44football you're in, is you have a risk of a letdown, and that's what I don't want.
04:51But they are very talented, different strengths of the team.
04:55I think their secondary is real good.
04:57We probably have the highest-ranked corner for the NFL draft already, and we haven't even started playing a game.
05:04So, you know, I think they have some talent, and Mario's brought in talent, but listen, you've got to get
05:10through the season.
05:12And, Gino, you hear about it, you said it, the secondary.
05:14We talked to Eric McLean yesterday, and he covers the ACC, and he's telling us, he's like, don't worry about
05:19Bain and them because Lightfoot's going to step right in there and do his thing.

05:23The secondary's amazing.
05:25Mensah might be the best quarterback in the nation.
05:27We know what Mark Fletcher's going to do.

06:21He comes out, his defense kicks ass, quarterback plays okay, and they win the game on the road, so the

06:27So that's where, to me, is okay, yeah, you have some talent, and you're basically saying what they did last
06:35year, they're just going to continue on, and that doesn't happen.
06:39I mean, Mensah wasn't even here last year.
06:41You know, you're going to tell me some guy's just going to step in for Bain and do what he

09:36They didn't – at the start of NIL, Stanford players were transferring out of the school to go somewhere else.
09:44And Stanford wouldn't allow – they wouldn't go after transfer portal kids to bring in because of their academics.
09:50So they're like four years behind the game of bringing players in, supplementing their roster.
09:56Now they've, you know, they brought Andrew Luck back to try to help facilitate that.
10:02So, you know, listen, we have a better personnel team.
10:06And we should go out there and, like Randall Hill used to say, crush them like bugs.

11:06And I think that's what I want to see, and that's really what it comes down to, to me, is

11:22I should be able to tell the DB, I'll tell you I'm running a corner route, and you're not going

11:27And that's how confident he was.
11:29And I think that as a team, no matter where you are, if you feel that, and you're like, you
11:34know what, I can beat the crap out of the other team.
11:37I can do whatever I want.
11:38I can run it against them.
11:39I can pass it.
11:39I can run routes against them.
11:41And you should be able to do that.
11:43And that's what I want them to do is just go out there, be confident, play their base.

11:48They're not going to have to have a lot of wrinkles, but, man, there ain't a lot of reps in
11:52practice anymore to me.
11:54You know, when you're in two-a-days and you don't really have two-a-days, you know, it's a
