00:08CITICS, beginning with the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne,
00:13according to CNBC. The league will also play inaugural games in Rio de Janeiro and Paris,
00:19along with contests in London, Madrid, Munich, and Mexico City. NFL owners have approved 10
00:26international games for 2027, the maximum allowed under the current collective bargaining
00:31agreement. The NFL's Global Markets Program, launched in 2022, gives teams international
00:37marketing rights to build brand awareness and grow fandom overseas. Every NFL team holds marketing
00:44rights in at least one international market and generally serves as the home team when playing
00:48there, including the Rams in Australia and the 49ers in Mexico. Teams apply for those rights each
00:54spring, with assignments often reflecting geography. Commissioner Roger Goodell has said he wants
01:00as many as 16 international games and expects an NFL team eventually to be permanently located
