00:15Immigration Department Director-General Datuk Zakaria Shaban said the majority of those
00:20detained were Bangladeshis, Myanmar nationals and Vietnamese.
00:24He said the operation was carried out around Kanthan and Bercam in Ipoh from 7pm to about 9pm.
00:32He said the arrests followed inspections of 305 workers at timber and rubber glove factories
00:39as well as a food court for suspected offenses under the Immigration Act 1959-63.
00:57Zakaria said the Immigration Department is also investigating the possibility of a syndicate
01:03being involved in issuing fake PLKS.
01:07He said further investigations will be conducted to determine whether employers had engaged agents
01:13involved in issuing the fraudulent passes and to identify the syndicate responsible.
