Wildfire spreads near homes in Albania as crews battle blaze  Firefighters battled a fast-spreading wildfire in Levan near Fier, Albania on Sept. 4, 2026 as flames advanced dangerously close to homes and businesses. Helicopters dropped water from above while ground crews worked to contain the blaze that damaged several houses. Local residents gathered along railroad tracks and roads to watch as emergency responders fought to control the fire.
