00:00I currently have probably 247 tattoos covering my entire body. It became an
00:04addiction for me. Today a makeup artist is coming to my house and we're going to
00:07surprise my family by covering up all my tattoos.
00:10Oh my god!
00:12Probably about 80% of my body is covered in tattoos. I just like that I'm unapologetically me.
00:18Today I'm covering up all my tattoos and then we're gonna reveal it to my mum.
00:24I feel like other people expect me to be a bad mom just because of my appearance
00:28alone. Today I'm transforming from heavily modified to suburban mom.
00:33Oh my god.
00:35I started face tattoos about six and a half years ago. It was down to my daughter being
00:39ill and it's a coping mechanism for me.
00:41The makeup comes off, the tattoos don't, so there's no harm in doing that at all.
00:46It's more of an experience for the kids and for the family.
00:48Still daddy.
00:48You make me sad, you make me sad.
00:5098% of my body is covered in tattoos.
00:53You know how much I hate tattoos.
00:54My mother's never really liked mine.
00:57Happy Mother's Day.
00:57Oh my god.
00:59Why can't you wear like this all the time?
01:02My dad's always strongly disliked my tattoos.
01:05So much to the point that he's trying to bribe me to not get any more.
01:08Always told me that tattoos are for criminals, but that's never stopped me.
01:13Nervous. Scared. All of the above. Yep.
01:17What happened?
01:23Hi, welcome to my house.
01:25Hi, Richard. My name is Crystal.
01:28My name is Richard and I've been getting tattoos for the last 30 years.
01:30I got my first tattoo before I went into the military, probably in 1990, and then after that it became
01:37an addiction for me.
01:38I've tattooed 90% of my body. It just becomes an addiction for everybody. I don't care who you are
01:43once you start in it.
01:44I currently have probably 247 tattoos covering my entire body, and my goal is to be completely covered, 100%
01:50covered in the next three years.
01:52Today, makeup artist is coming to my house and we're going to surprise my family by covering up all my
01:56tattoos.
01:57It's going to be a big shock for me because I've looked like this for over 30 years.
02:02So today we're doing a tattoo cover-up on Richard.
02:07His face, his arms, his legs.
02:10It's going to be a process where we're going to color correct, and then we're going to add foundation on
02:15top to look like he has no tattoos, basically.
02:20And yeah, it's going to be fun. You ready?
02:22I'm ready.
02:23Are you nervous?
02:24I'm nervous as well.
02:26We're going to do a layer of powder, and then we're going to go over with this Dermablend foundation, and
02:32I believe we're going to have to do two layers of this because the tattoos won't come through.
02:38I've always wanted tattoos since I was younger.
02:40What was it about tattoos that became so interesting to you?
02:43The excitement, the artwork, watching different designs on your body grow, and it just was exhilarating.
02:50And not only that, the pain tolerance was phenomenal.
02:52It just became a sensation that you just wanted more and more and more of.
02:58My first tattoo was a bear with a sailor's hat when I was getting ready to go in the Navy,
03:02and it was located on my chest, and that was in 1990.
03:05I started tattooing my face probably 12 years ago, and I started off, like I said, with a mouthpiece as
03:12a joke, and then I just continued to go.
03:15So I have the teeth here, I have my wife's name Maria here, my son's Frank's name here, my son
03:20Junior here.
03:21This is my daughter's kiss, and these are Jayden's footprints when he was newborn.
03:27Now I'm going to start the color correcting process.
03:30I'm going to start doing his arms first, and then I'm going to do with his face.
03:36What product are you using on me now?
03:38So we're using the EBA color corrector in the shade Coral just to take out any of the blue and
03:45the black lines in your tattoos.
03:50I get judged a lot, got a lot of negative comments about my tattoos.
03:54People call me a monster, or how disgusting it is, or why would you do something like that to yourself?
04:00And everybody has their own opinion of what they can think of me, you know what I mean?
04:05I take care of my family, I'm a good father, and I'm just normal, I'm just like you.
04:09Just because I have tattoos doesn't make me a different person.
04:12So after we're done with this, we're going to reveal this to my wife and my kids.
04:15My children love it, plus they don't know anything else.
04:18They were all born, I mean, when they were all born, I already looked like this.
04:22When I met my wife, I had already looked like this.
04:24How do you think they're the ones who are dads?
04:27My older ones will probably laugh, my wife will probably say take it off,
04:30my twins, they're the ones I'm worried about.
04:35What do you guys think about my tattoos?
04:37I think you look good with tattoos, can take a lead to whoever you want.
04:41It's like weird, but it's like cool.
04:44Dad, how do you feel about your tattoos getting covered up?
04:47I'm excited for you guys to see what I look like, which everybody considers normal,
04:52but yet I'm scared that the twins are not going to recognize this.
04:56So now all the tattoos are covered up, so now I'm going to blend it all together.
05:01Why do you want to do this transformation?
05:03I want to do this transformation for my kids.
05:05I want my kids to actually see what I look like normal.
05:07We're almost done.
05:09Now we're doing the flecking, which is adding some little freckles to make him look more natural,
05:15more realistic, skin-like.
05:17And it's like the finishing touch.
05:18So this is an alcohol activated paint.
05:22It's activated by 99% Alcohol.
05:24It's by Real Creations Inc. in Amber Brown.
05:30So Richard, we're all done.
05:32Are you ready to see yourself?
05:33I'm ready.
05:34This is going to be crazy.
05:35I haven't seen myself without tattoos in 20 years.
05:37This is going to be phenomenal right now.
05:41Okay Richard, are you ready?
05:43I'm ready.
05:43Okay.
05:44Three, two, one.
05:47Oh.
05:49Yikes.
05:52Holy .
05:53Yikes.
05:54My kids are going to be scared to death right now.
05:57Oh my goodness.
06:10Man, I look old.
06:12I do not recognize myself at all right now.
06:14First thing I thought was who is this old man standing in front of me.
06:17I feel a lot different right now.
06:18What makes you feel better?
06:20Having no tattoos.
06:21I've never seen myself like this.
06:23It completely makes me look like a different person.
06:25My family is going to be very shocked right now.
06:27I'm going to reveal this.
06:28This transformation has made me want to go back to myself.
06:31The lady did an excellent job, but this is not me.
06:33Looking at myself right now, I want to get right back to the tattoo shop.
06:37Rita, are you nervous about seeing Richard without tattoos?
06:40I'm not really nervous.
06:41I'm kind of excited to actually see him and see what he looks like.
06:45I've never seen my dad without tattoos.
06:48I'm nervous because I'm shy if he looks like a grandpa.
06:54Because he has some whiteness on his eyeballs.
06:58Oh my God.
07:01You look so good.
07:04Daddy.
07:05Daddy.
07:06Come here.
07:07It's Daddy.
07:10Come here.
07:11Come here.
07:11It's okay.
07:12Hi, Bubba.
07:13It's Daddy.
07:14Come here, Junior.
07:15Junior, come here.
07:16It's Daddy.
07:18It's Daddy.
07:20It's Daddy.
07:24It's Daddy.
07:25Are you wearing a mask over your head?
07:30It's Daddy.
07:31It's Daddy.
07:32It's Daddy.
07:32It's Daddy.
07:32It's Daddy.
07:33It's Daddy.
07:35Daddy looks scary.
07:36What happened to Daddy's tattoos?
07:38They're all gone?
07:39They're all gone?
07:40They're all gone?
07:41He looks like weird.
07:44He looks like an old man.
07:46He looks like something from a video that I've never seen before.
07:49I thought he was like a different person.
07:53He looks like an uncle and I thought he was like a different person.
07:57I'm like, I've never seen this in him before.
08:00To be honest, no.
08:01I don't like this new look on my husband.
08:03I prefer the tattoos on him because it makes him look better.
08:06He looks like somebody put a mask over him.
08:10What did you think about your family's reaction?
08:12I knew that my family's reaction, I knew they'd be shocked at my appearance.
08:15They were so used to me with tattoos.
08:17This has gave me a perspective of what I would look like
08:19and I'm so grateful that I'm covered in tattoos.
08:25This experience has taught me that I am very happy with who I am with my tattoos
08:30and that I am very grateful for who I am.
08:39My name's Casey.
08:41I've been tattooed for the past 12 years.
08:43I think probably about 80% of my body is covered in tattoos.
08:48The first tattoo I got, I was 14 years old.
08:52It's my star-signed Aries.
08:55Am I addicted?
08:56I wouldn't say I'm an addict.
08:59But definitely tattooing helped me to become more of my own person.
09:06It's been my outlet and helped me to express myself.
09:09And I guess find my own defining place in society.
09:13Today is really exciting.
09:16We've got a makeup artist coming and she's going to cover my whole body in makeup
09:20so that I'm completely clear-skinned.
09:23Then we're going to reveal it to my mum who hasn't seen me in a very long time as well.
09:27Susie?
09:28Okay, Susie.
09:29Hi!
09:29I'm definitely excited to see myself.
09:31It's been a long 12 years.
09:33I think when people see me a lot of the time what I get told is,
09:38oh, you're a beautiful girl.
09:40Why have you done that to your face?
09:41Is she a criminal?
09:43Is she affiliated with a gang?
09:45Is she a bad person?
09:47You've just got to take it with a grain of salt sometimes.
09:49Okay, Casey.
09:50Let's get started.
09:52So we do the pink first.
09:53And the pink cancels out the navy blue.
10:03My Aries sister will get rid of our little RAM sign.
10:07It's a psychological journey that you're going on,
10:10where erasing your visual identity is something that you've had for a really long time.
10:19You've had quite a journey, haven't you, with the tattoos?
10:22You've had them be celebrated and then you've had them not be celebrated,
10:26which is a really big trip and a big psychological journey to go on.
10:30Yeah.
10:30To have people judge you because of how you look.
10:32But look at you, you're shining and you're coming out the other side
10:36and you're making good choices for you.
10:39I'm actually getting all my face tattoos lasered off.
10:42They've been the real marker in what I need to change to get to where I'm now going.
10:47Did you want to work with children?
10:49Hmm.
10:50And having the ink on your face, you feel that that's maybe getting in your way.
10:53It's just a new journey.
10:55Yeah.
10:55A new path and like, it's just something I've got to do.
10:59I think that's a thing with growing older.
11:00Your mind changes, your goals change.
11:03That's definitely been something that's made me want to go through this experience.
11:11Hopefully when I see my face today covered up with no tattoos,
11:16it helps sort of reinforce the backbone of the reason why I'm going through the laser
11:23and going through the pain.
11:25I do actually feel naked now.
11:27Alright darling, we've finished.
11:29Oh, you're a little bit cold.
11:29How are you feeling?
11:30It's almost time for the big reveal.
11:32I'm really nervous.
11:35But I'm excited but I'm really nervous.
11:37Let's go, let's go see the mirror.
11:38Okay.
11:38Here we go.
11:39Okay.
11:44Oh my god.
11:52Oh, it's so weird.
11:55I feel ugly.
11:57I feel really self-conscious again.
12:00I think it's just because it doesn't feel like me.
12:03I don't even remember what it's like.
12:06Like I remember, like I said, I feel like I'm the young me
12:09but I still don't remember what it's like to not be the way I am.
12:13Well this is what it's going to look like when you have all the ankle removed off your face.
12:18Yeah, I could probably do it.
12:19There you go.
12:21It's growing on me.
12:24As I'm standing here and getting used to it,
12:26even with the rest of my body still covered,
12:28I think that people will look at me in a totally different light actually.
12:33My mum loves who I am
12:35and so I think she'll probably prefer who I am with my tattoos
12:39but I think it'll probably be nice for it
12:41and maybe see her little girl again for a moment.
12:44Am I going to recognise her?
12:46I'm so used to her with her tattoos.
12:49I'm not really sure what my reaction is going to be
12:52but I'm looking forward to it.
12:58Oh wow, don't you look amazing!
13:00I was going to go...
13:03Oh wow, you look beautiful my darling.
13:08You are so gorgeous.
13:10Look at you.
13:11Do you like it better or do you like it better?
13:14I love both ways.
13:15I love you either way.
13:17You're my darling.
13:18Her beautiful face.
13:20You can really see her beautiful face now.
13:22I love that.
13:24I really do like that.
13:25I can really see your face.
13:27And your hands.
13:28And my hands.
13:31Your hands.
13:32And your hands.
13:33Your face and your hands.
13:35I love a good finger.
13:36I definitely realise that I'm so happy in the skin that I'm in
13:41and I'm really happy with who I am.
13:44I think I'll still definitely go ahead with getting my face lasered off.
13:48It's been a big day and it's been pretty cool to see this transition
13:53but I'm done.
13:55I want to get this off and yeah, give it to the real me.
14:07It takes literally like 20 minutes to style my hair.
14:11Makeup can take me anywhere from about 15 minutes to two to three hours.
14:17I would describe my style as between punk and goth.
14:22A little bit of emo in there.
14:24The most striking part of myself is definitely my modifications.
14:29I have 44, 46 piercings at the moment.
14:33I tend to lose count just because of how often I get them.
14:36My earlobes are currently at three inches.
14:39It took me about eight to nine years to get my ears this big.
14:44I've only been getting tattooed for about a year, year and a half now.
14:48Eventually I would like to have my entire body tattooed.
14:52The only times I tend to wear colours is if I'm borrowing somebody else's clothes.
14:56It's pretty much all black.
14:58I hope that I'll still look super weird when I'm like really old
15:02because otherwise what was the point?
15:07I feel like people definitely stereotype.
15:10Everyone thinks I believe in Satan or that I kill animals or something when it's quite frankly the opposite.
15:18How many dots is there? One, two, three.
15:22I feel like other people expect me to be a bad mom just because of my appearance alone.
15:28I've looked like this since Penelope was born, so I don't really think she thinks anything of it.
15:34Sometimes I worry when I go a little too hardcore, but she just starts laughing and playing with me.
15:42Today I'm transforming from heavily modified to suburban mom.
15:47I'm going to reveal my transformed look to my boyfriend, my daughter, and my mother.
15:52Scissors, scissors.
15:54Let's see what this one is, baby.
15:55Oh no.
15:59Long sleeves too.
16:02I'm uncomfortable and it's not even on my flesh yet.
16:06Oh no.
16:08Everything is beige.
16:10It's like reverse Christmas because I'm not very excited anymore.
16:15I'm a lot more scared now than I thought I was going to be.
16:21I would say we're giving a make under today to NYX.
16:25Something a little less severe as the black mascara and the mohawk.
16:36I love the feel of makeup on my skin, but holy hell do I feel so gross right now.
16:42I feel like I'm going to cry.
16:45Don't cry.
16:50Don't cry.
16:52Two.
16:53Three.
16:55No.
16:56No.
16:59No.
17:02And it's exactly what I thought.
17:04No.
17:05I don't recognize me.
17:07I feel like Becky.
17:10I feel like my name is Becky now.
17:13No.
17:13No.
17:16Ugh.
17:17I think my boyfriend's going to hate it.
17:18Like hate it, hate it.
17:19Like so much hate.
17:28Oh my God.
17:30You're so different.
17:32I wouldn't even love you.
17:33You're still beautiful but you're still so different.
17:36Yeah.
17:37I would have never recognized you like going down the street or nothing.
17:41This is not what I think it means.
17:44I don't like it.
17:46I'd rather have her with all her piercings and her tattoos and all that because I know that that's her
17:53and that's what makes her happy.
17:54That's mommy.
17:56No.
17:56Nope.
17:58That's not your mommy.
18:00Hey.
18:01Pretty girl.
18:03No touch.
18:04I was not at all surprised by my boyfriend's reaction.
18:07I was really surprised that my mom genuinely liked the way that I looked before today.
18:14First thing I'm going to do is take off these heels.
18:18Screw all that.
18:20Ugh.
18:20And this.
18:22This is annoying.
18:23And I'm sweaty.
18:25And I like short hair.
18:27Today's look, I don't think I'm going to take anything from it.
18:31Because I would like to pretend it didn't exist.
18:34Today's experience made me realize that I just really like who I am.
18:38And I don't want to fit in.
18:40I don't want to look like this.
18:43I forget that I've got these tattoos on my body.
18:46I walk about.
18:47I forget that there are sometimes I'll see myself in a reflection from a car.
18:50Or shop window.
18:51That makes me remember when I'm coming in tattoos.
18:53I actually got my first tattoo done when I was 15.
18:55I actually still have it.
18:56It's still on my back.
18:57Yeah.
18:57It was the start of the journey.
19:00I started face tattoos about six and a half years ago.
19:03And it was down to my daughter being ill.
19:05And it was a coping mechanism for me.
19:07It was a way to cope with her being in hospital and me still having to go to work and
19:10work a normal life.
19:12It was just a way of emphasizing and being on the same sort of level as she was going through
19:17the pain.
19:18She was in a hospital with tubes all coming out of her mouth.
19:20All I wanted to do was take her pain away as her father.
19:23So my favorite tattoos would be the two on my back of both of my daughters.
19:26And my least favorite tattoo would probably be this one on the top of my arm.
19:30It's just misshaped.
19:31It's been covered up a couple of times.
19:33And it's just out of place.
19:34But I am still happy with it.
19:35It's part of the journey.
19:36As soon as I was getting any tattoo done, I was going, right, okay, when's your next available date?
19:40Can you get me in again next week?
19:42I know I've had roughly about 87 hours on my head alone.
19:45I get a lot of different reactions.
19:46And people seem to think that because I look how I do and because I have these sort of tattoos,
19:51that I'm unemployable and I shouldn't be entitled to work.
19:54Now, I think that's ridiculous.
19:56I think it's just as normal as anybody else.
19:58And I should be allowed to work and look after my kids and provide for my kids.
20:02I'm in playgrounds when the kids are playing.
20:04And I'm sometimes climbing up the slides.
20:06And you have young kids up the top waiting to come down.
20:09And they're not expecting me, obviously, to pop my head up.
20:12And the faces they pull, they're up and they're back away from the slide.
20:15And Jessica will go over to them and put her arm around them and be like,
20:18That's just my daddy. He's got tattoos.
20:20He may look scary, but he's not scary.
20:22And that's how I see things with that situation.
20:25Yeah, so.
20:26Yeah, so.
20:27Go downstairs.
20:32Today there's a makeup artist coming out.
20:34He's going to cover my tattoos.
20:36It's going to be the first time I've seen myself with tattoos in seven years.
20:39And not only that, but my daughter has never seen me in the flesh with tattoos.
20:43So it'll be a complete first for her, along with the rest of the family.
20:46It'll be massive, massive for them all.
20:52Come on mate, how's it going?
20:53How's things?
20:54Good to meet you, alright?
20:55Ready to do this?
20:56I certainly am.
20:57No time like the moment.
20:59So today we are doing a full camouflage on Chris.
21:02So we're going to be neutralizing a lot of the tones that are created to the deeper tones, the blacks
21:08and stuff.
21:08Then build up some layers to then even out the complexion.
21:12And then we need to uneven the complexion and try to make it look a little bit more realistic.
21:18I feel like I'm hiding myself.
21:21Is there any tattoo you really regret?
21:23No, none at all, no.
21:25There's a few maybe I would eventually like to cover up or to black out completely, but no.
21:31Strange I have friends with much less tattoos, but much more regrets.
21:35Is that right?
21:35Is that right?
21:36Holiday tattoos and stuff.
21:37Ah, yeah, yeah.
21:39I can't even anticipate how I'm going to feel it.
21:42I don't know.
21:43I don't even know.
21:44I can't even get my head around it.
21:46It's just one of my own things, I'll find out.
21:47Let's do it.
21:53If you're ready to have a look at yourself.
21:55I think so, yeah.
21:56Don't feel nervous.
21:58Yeah, yeah.
21:58I have to be.
21:59Yeah.
22:00Let's do this.
22:03And...
22:03And...
22:03And...
22:04And the neck.
22:06That doesn't look like me.
22:07I think I'd prefer it with the tattoos.
22:09Yeah, yeah.
22:11It's a good job in the make-up though.
22:12It is pretty good.
22:14Ending well, yeah, yeah.
22:15It's mad.
22:15Same as stuff with the tattoos there.
22:17It feels like it's somebody else's arms.
22:19It doesn't feel like they're my arms.
22:20It's brought the colour back in the eye because I've been actually through eyes and so...
22:23It's definitely me there, but...
22:25Just missing the tattoos.
22:27The new look will be revealed to Ruth and the three kids.
22:30Healy, Jessica and Gemma.
22:32I've seen Chris with no tattoos seven years ago when we first met.
22:36He only had a few on his arms and a few on his legs.
22:38My favourite tattoo is like the demon on the side of his head.
22:42Like a blue one.
22:42It's like a demon.
22:43Because I like how the tongue is sticking out and it has like a snake tongue on it.
22:49I think he's confident with them.
22:52I think that's what I like about it.
22:55I'm going to look soft.
22:57What would you do if daddy didn't have any tattoos anymore?
23:00I'll cry.
23:02It would be really strange and weird.
23:17Where's old daddy's tattoos going?
23:18Where's all the tattoos going?
23:22Am I still your daddy?
23:23Am I still your daddy?
23:25Am I still your daddy?
23:26I look like Smeagol, don't I?
23:29My precious.
23:32Are you going to give me a hug?
23:33No.
23:34Are you scared of me?
23:35Are you scared of me?
23:37I'm scary like this.
23:38Am I?
23:40You think daddy's scary like this?
23:41You don't think daddy's scary with the tattoos?
23:43No.
23:44Yeah, he doesn't look like you at all.
23:46At all.
23:47Looks like I'm a pretty different person.
23:49Yeah, I don't like you.
23:50At least you know I'm still your daddy.
23:52At least you know I'm still your daddy.
23:53At least you know I'm still your daddy.
23:54Hey?
23:54Yes.
23:55It doesn't look like you.
23:57Don't be shy, come and give daddy a cuddle.
23:58Daddy hasn't seen you all day.
23:59Haven't seen you.
24:00Yeah.
24:01Would you give him a cuddle if he had his tattoos back?
24:04Yeah.
24:05Yes.
24:05There you go.
24:06Right, let's get this mucle ball.
24:08You don't like it either?
24:09Nah.
24:10It doesn't feel like me.
24:11Can I have a cuddle at least?
24:13Jesse Rose?
24:14Give daddy a cuddle.
24:15Come on, I'm still daddy.
24:16You're going to make me sad.
24:17You're going to make me sad.
24:18Come here.
24:19Come here.
24:20Come on.
24:21You're still daddy.
24:22I'm still daddy.
24:24You're going to see it.
24:25I'm still your daddy.
24:27I'm still your daddy.
24:27I'm going to make you feel.
24:28I used to bite.
24:31I'm still your daddy, aren't I?
24:33Still your daddy.
24:34I can recognise him by his eyes and his like...
24:37Big smile.
24:38Yeah.
24:38He's all got a big smile.
24:40I think if I was looking like this for an extended period of time I could get used to it.
24:45But it's just such a shock seeing it here today.
24:49I look a lot older I feel.
24:51I look a lot older to age my skin a wee bit.
24:53But yeah.
24:54It is what it is.
24:55I don't think I could live like this every day.
24:57No.
24:58My tattoos are always going to be there.
24:59They're always going to be a part of me.
25:08Hey.
25:08Are you Kirby?
25:09Yes I am.
25:10I'm Scooby.
25:10Nice to meet you.
25:12Are you ready for today?
25:13Yes ma'am.
25:13Let's do it.
25:14Let's do it.
25:15My name's Scooby and I would describe my look as modern day pirate.
25:20I would say the main points of my look are my tattoos and my ability to mesh a more bougie
25:27lifestyle with that of a hippie and combining those two.
25:32Mother.
25:33What's up?
25:35Mom I need to ask you something.
25:37Oh boy now what?
25:38I need your honest opinion on what you think of my tattoos and my style.
25:42Really?
25:43Yeah.
25:44You want my honest opinion?
25:45Yeah.
25:45You know I hate it.
25:47What about it though?
25:48Give me some juice.
25:49Because you're such a good looking baby.
25:52A good looking boy.
25:54With all those tattoos you know.
25:55It's just like you look at your face you have this gorgeous face but look at your body it's color
25:59everywhere.
26:00Alright what about my style?
26:01I wish you dressed a little more conservative you know.
26:05Like a gentleman.
26:06Like a preppy boy like you know one of those rich boys.
26:08Instead all those cat hats and ripped t-shirt and stuff like that.
26:14Because I feel like I have a beard for a son.
26:16My mother's never really liked my look.
26:19She's definitely always wanted me to be tattoo free and to dress like a gentleman.
26:23The only thing I ask do not touch your face.
26:25Oh not yet.
26:26Huh?
26:26I'm just kidding.
26:28You better be kidding me because I will die.
26:31I swear I will die if you put something in your face.
26:37So the key elements to a cleaner smarter look are.
26:41Well first off no tattoos.
26:42So we're going to cover them up.
26:43And his hair is a little bit on the wild side right now.
26:46So we're going to tame it.
26:47And then for the clothes we're just going to give him a sharper cleaner look.
26:51Kind of like a businessman but it's his day off.
26:54He still wants to look good.
26:56Alright Scooby I'm ready for you.
26:58Okay so first I'm going to do your hair.
27:00So just take the hat off for me.
27:01So let's see it.
27:04Alright.
27:05Here we go.
27:06I'm nervous.
27:08What are you most nervous about?
27:10My tattoos.
27:12Oh okay.
27:13Yeah that'll feel different.
27:14My style before my tattoos was pretty goth, emo.
27:18I wanted to be a rock star ever since I was like six years old.
27:21So I went pretty hard with that aesthetic for a while.
27:24When I was a baby I was born with a colestomy bag.
27:27Basically my intestine didn't work so I couldn't use the restroom.
27:30I had a reversal so I don't have a colestomy bag anymore.
27:33But I am left with a giant scar.
27:35And that was the reason why I decided to cover my body in tattoos.
27:40Alright.
27:41Take off your nose rings.
27:43Okay.
27:46I am going to be covering everything that the shirt is not covering.
27:50So I'm going to color correct first and then I'm going to apply a layer of foundation.
27:54I am a little apprehensive about getting my tattoos covered.
27:58These are my safety blanket.
28:00Some people online say they're my whole personality.
28:03So I definitely don't know how I'm going to feel once they're covered.
28:05So far I've spent over $97,000 on my tattoos.
28:09I will say it's been a journey to get here.
28:11But I feel incredible about the way I look now.
28:14This is the Mud FX palette.
28:18Basically any blue tone it cancels it out.
28:21With the peach tone which is what I'm using right now.
28:25This is the Graptobian HD Glamour Cream.
28:28It covers up honestly anything.
28:32I definitely do get judged on the way I look and dress specifically on social media.
28:37People may think you're cringe at first, let's say if you start posting on the internet.
28:40I've been called things like a hypnotic giraffe, tapestry in the corner, a Persian rug.
28:46Recently this little kid looks at me, points and goes, he looks like a church.
28:49But I will say that 95% is great judgment.
28:54The comments, regardless if they're negative or positive, the fact that you took the time to exert your energy towards
28:59me makes me feel special.
29:02How do you think your mom's going to react?
29:04She's probably going to cry tears of joy.
29:08My mom's probably wanted to see me without tattoos for so long.
29:11This is definitely going to be one Mother's Day gift that she'll never forget.
29:14This is the Laura Mercier translucent powder.
29:17It's just to set everything in place.
29:19Alright, so we're all done.
29:21So just go get changed and don't look in the mirror, okay?
29:25Yes ma'am.
29:26Alright, come with me.
29:29I feel nervous.
29:30I feel like a dork.
29:32Here we go.
29:34Ready?
29:35I'm ready, man.
29:36I'm on the edge of my seat.
29:37I'm stiff as a board.
29:40Three, two, one.
29:47Oh my days.
29:50Who is he?
29:55I look ridiculous.
29:59I look like a straight dork, y'all.
30:07Oh yeah.
30:09Yeah, y'all did your big one with this.
30:11I look like a freaking nerd, man.
30:16I don't even want to look at myself, bruh.
30:18I feel like a stranger in my own body.
30:21I think you look great.
30:22I like the color green on you.
30:26Let's just see what your mom thinks.
30:28That's what's important.
30:29Yep.
30:29I am excited and a little anxious.
30:32His look now, it's overwhelming to some people.
30:35I want him to look like an entrepreneur.
30:38So I don't have to work for anybody.
30:39So I like to see him on a dress shirt, a tie.
30:44That would think he would look amazing.
30:48Happy Mother's Day.
30:49Oh my God.
30:52Look how good you look, bruh.
30:54Wow.
30:54Oh my gosh.
30:55Let me see your hands.
30:57No tattoos.
30:58I love it.
31:01How does that look amazing, bruh.
31:02Oh my God.
31:03That looks great.
31:05Wow.
31:06No head tattoos, no neck tattoos.
31:09I love the color.
31:10I love the dress pants.
31:11I love everything.
31:12It looks so good, bruh.
31:12I'm so glad you didn't touch your face.
31:14I thought you were going to come out with a face tattoo.
31:16I would be dead.
31:17Can you please dress like this and cover your tattoos more often?
31:21Yeah, true.
31:21My birthday is right in the corner.
31:22Of course, mommy.
31:23I'll do this for your birthday.
31:25I think Scooby's new look is real nice.
31:27He looks really dapper, real gentleman-like.
31:29Yeah, I think it suits him.
31:31Literally.
31:31I feel like a dork.
31:33I think it looks amazing.
31:35Thanks, mommy.
31:35It's my Vogue magazine cover.
31:38So I really love it.
31:40You guys better enjoy this while it lasts because the tattoos are coming back.
31:45It looks amazing.
31:47I love it.
31:48I wish you liked this all the time.
31:50Thanks, mommy.
31:51Thanks, guys.
31:52I think everyone's reaction was priceless.
31:55My mom was super happy, just like I expected she would be.
31:58I thought my brother would make a little bit more fun of me, but I'm glad everybody approved.
32:02I probably would never wear any of this again, if I'm being honest.
32:05It's very strange.
32:06It's super weird.
32:07I feel like a nerd.
32:08I really love my style and my tattoos are a part of me.
32:12However, I think I'll surprise my mom for her birthday.
32:22Hi.
32:22Hello.
32:23Nice to meet you.
32:24Nice to meet you.
32:24I'm Meg.
32:25I'm Alex.
32:25Here to do the transformation.
32:27Come on in.
32:28My name's Alex and I would describe my look as alternative.
32:33A little bit of goth.
32:34I'd say probably a little bit of punk in there as well.
32:36I was massive emo kid.
32:38I've been getting tattooed since I was 18.
32:40It's all different parts of my personality.
32:42Money-wise on my tattoos, it's probably close to getting between 8 to 10 grand now.
32:48Easily.
32:49I feel like a few words that would summarize my look would be obviously tattooed.
32:54Toys.
32:55I've been told intimidating.
32:59I just feel dumb now.
33:01It's fine.
33:02Today I'm removing my tattoos as a tribute for my dad.
33:05It's something that I know he would have always liked, so I'm doing it for him.
33:09So we're doing a tattoo cover up and a makeup transformation.
33:13Similar to what I'm wearing on my face today, so a bit more of a neutral kind of makeup.
33:17Okay, Alex, I think I'm ready for you now.
33:20You sit down here for me.
33:23Definitely out of my comfort zone.
33:25I have no idea what outfit I've got.
33:27I'm not allowed to see and I'm nervous.
33:30So this is the Garnier.
33:32It's just a little cleanser for taking off any makeup.
33:36So we're just going to start removing any of Alex's makeup.
33:40Goodbye eyebrows.
33:41When I was a really small kid, it was a lot of colour.
33:44Just very casual, very normal.
33:46I used to wear a lot of pink.
33:47I moved to Spain when I was about 10 years old.
33:50I used to get bullied at school for being blonde and I got a bit fed up with the attention.
33:55So I ended up actually deciding to dye my hair a bit darker.
33:58I experimented a lot with different styles.
34:00So I think that's where it all sort of started.
34:02So I remember seeing all the really massive, brightly coloured Mohawks and just being like,
34:06Oh my God, that's amazing.
34:07And I was in love and I just knew that that was me.
34:11So I'm just using this Total Tattoo Coverage little palette.
34:14So I just chose this shade to go in with here and I'm just patting this on for now.
34:21So it's just about building up the layers.
34:25What's your favourite tattoo?
34:27So that's a little heart that my mum basically made a load of teddy bears for all of her friends
34:32and family and stuff before she passed.
34:34Well it's with you forever now.
34:35Exactly.
34:35So how come you've chose the transformation today as a reason?
34:39It's what I think my dad would have really liked to have seen.
34:42I was close to my dad.
34:44Like we had a good childhood.
34:46I had a lot of love for my dad.
34:48I had a good relationship with him.
34:49My dad's always strongly disliked my tattoos.
34:53Always told me that tattoos are for criminals.
34:56But that's never stopped me.
34:58So much to the point that he's tried to bribe me to not get any more.
35:01My dad passed away in November 2023.
35:06Obviously it was sad when it happened and everything.
35:09I remember being in the hospital with him as well and showing him some of the tattoos I'd had done
35:14on the side of my head.
35:15And he just kept like stroking my head because he just thought it felt really funny.
35:19And that was quite sweet.
35:20So I think he was quite proud of me for that one.
35:23So I'm just going to go in with HMB Cosmetics Concealer.
35:26So I like to pop a bit on the back of my hand just to warm the products up.
35:30Just creating a base for the eyes.
35:32So this is my very well-loved palette from P. Louise.
35:35It's called Wrap It Up.
35:36And I absolutely love this as well because it's perfect for bronzing and, you know, you've got a nice range
35:41of skin tones.
35:42It's definitely a staple in my kit.
35:44I do get quite a few strangers saying,
35:46Don't get any more on your face. Look like a thug.
35:49There was an instance when I went on holiday and they wouldn't let me into a building because of how
35:53it looked.
35:54They just made me feel more adamant that I was just going to do what I wanted.
35:58Peer pressure doesn't work on me.
36:01So they just made me more adamant to just do what I wanted and prove people wrong.
36:08So I'm just going to use this P. Louise eyebrow pencil and this is in the shade Espresso, I think.
36:15So it's like a nice dark kind of shade.
36:18So we're just going to fill them in ever so slightly.
36:21So who are you actually revealing the look to today?
36:24Two of my friends, Bam and Elise.
36:26Neither of them really remembers what I look like without all the tattoos.
36:29Yeah.
36:30So it's going to be a big shock for them.
36:33Yeah.
36:34I think the pink glossy lips complete the look.
36:36Okay Alex, so your transformation is all complete.
36:38Are you ready to see yourself?
36:40Yep.
36:42How are you feeling?
36:45Yeah, nervous.
36:46Three, two, one.
36:57Oh God.
36:58How do you feel?
37:00I look like my sister to be fair.
37:03I actually generally think I look a lot like my sister.
37:05Oh God, the legs are weird.
37:07Oh, it's weird.
37:13I do literally feel like a Barbie.
37:15Just having absolutely no tattoos whatsoever or anything.
37:19I'm not a fan of the dress or the shoes.
37:22Yeah, I don't hate the hair.
37:24I think I could even get used to the top half being no tattoos,
37:28but for some reason the bottom half I'm like,
37:29nope, the tattoos need to come back.
37:32How do you think your dad would feel seeing you like this?
37:34I think he'd have absolutely loved it to be fair.
37:37I think he'd have cried some happy tears.
37:39I definitely think he'd have been like,
37:40oh, you look really pretty.
37:43So I think he'd have absolutely loved it.
37:45Gonna go meet the girls in a bit.
37:48And I'm expecting some screams.
37:50They're not going to be prepared for this.
37:53I've never seen a dress in a way.
37:54Other than like, you know, you strike keys in a hoodie,
37:56but even then it's black.
37:57It's always had some form of alternative influence
38:00rather than just being very normy.
38:02So she's had to dress up for like, you know, formal events,
38:05but even then here.
38:06Even then it's a bit off.
38:07Even like, if she's doing like a little doll dress,
38:09it'll be covered in blood.
38:10We've been talking about what we're expecting all day
38:12and we cannot figure it out.
38:14No.
38:14I don't think it's a tassel.
38:16No, it's a tassel.
38:18No, it's a tassel.
38:19No, it's a tassel.
38:19No, it's a tassel.
38:20What the hell are you?
38:23I don't know who are you.
38:25I want to just get out of the-
38:27That was exactly the reaction I was expecting.
38:29I just do it all.
38:30Turn, turn, turn, turn.
38:32Are you looks like the other ones are free?
38:34I don't know who are you.
38:37I actually, I-
38:38It suits you, but I hate him.
38:41But it's really nice at the same time.
38:43Yeah.
38:44So I went into Love Island and came out like this.
38:47I love the red though.
38:48The red will tie her.
38:49The red will tie her.
38:51I don't mind the colour.
38:52Yeah.
38:52I don't mind the colour that I don't like.
38:54I like the sleeves.
38:55I like the sleeves.
38:56I love the sleeves.
38:57It's made me realise that maybe I can do slightly.
39:00I don't have to do the massive eyeliner all the time.
39:03The hair, I'm not-
39:04The hair really suits you, but it's definitely not you.
39:08I would like to get my tattoos back now.
39:10You look like someone's hot mum.
39:13I don't know how I feel about that.
39:17It's giving separate wives.
39:19Like you've met a really handsome rich man.
39:20And he's just like giving you a lobotomy.
39:22And then maybe it's the perfect Barbie girl wife.
39:25I prefer what you like because it's you.
39:27I think this looks gorgeous.
39:29Oh, you're a better friend than me.
39:30I want it back.
39:32You can hide your toe.
39:33I don't know.
39:35I think everyone's reactions were exactly as I expected.
39:41I was 100% expecting a lot of screaming and shouting and swearing.
39:45And I think that is exactly what I got.
39:47I think my dad would have cried.
39:48I genuinely think he would have cried.
39:50My babies.
39:51I know he would have been really happy.
39:53He'd have definitely said,
39:54Oh, you look really pretty, darling.
39:55I know he would have given me a big massive hug.
39:57So he would have loved this.
40:05Oh, God.
