00:16Hello there, I'm Clemens, Community Lead at Raw Power Games.
00:20Over the last couple of months, we've been focusing on showing you the ins and outs of our large-scale
00:25battles in Chronicles Medieval.
00:26But today, we're gonna step outside of the battlefield and give you a very first look at the exploration map.
00:41Welcome to the exploration map in Chronicles Medieval.
00:44This is the perspective in which you'll travel around medieval Europe looking for lands to conquer, allies to hold off
00:51the enemy invasion and all sorts of other encounters.
00:55We build it in a way that fosters the sense of discovery and hunger for knowledge.
01:00Only the small radius around you is the area you have full knowledge of.
01:05You can inspect the garrison in the nearby town or see which lords, dukes, counts or bandit leaders are scouting
01:13the area.
01:15Everything outside of it is covered by the fog of war.
01:18You've visited these lands before, so you know settlement locations, roads, rivers and more.
01:25But as it has been a while since your last excursion, you don't know if bandits started to roam there
01:30or even worse, if an enemy army is amassing at your doorstep.
01:35The part of the map that looks like parchment is untapped territory.
01:39You have never been there, so you know nothing about it.
01:42The easiest way to lift the fog of war is to get out there and explore.
01:46We also give players tools to get temporary or even permanent map knowledge, sort of like catching the latest rumor
01:53in a local tavern.
01:55All that is best summarized by one of our design pillars that we call Knowledge is Power.
02:00The more you know, the better choices you make.
02:04And there's plethora of things to discover.
02:07Castles and settlements of different sizes have fixed placements on the map.
02:11But there's also dynamically placed points of interest.
02:15Mercenary camps where you can recruit.
02:18Hostile bandit camps to get some loot.
02:20Pathfinder camps to help scouting the area and much, much more.
02:24But that's just one layer of the exploration map.
02:28Zoom out a little and you transition into a region overview.
02:32The map as it is now is divided into 209 regions.
02:37Different codes of arms and colors per region tell you which Lord Odju holds the ruler title there.
02:43The vast majority of those codes of arms are rooted in history.
02:51Zoom out even more and you can see the political map.
02:55Here you can see which kingdom is on the rise.
02:57This is also the first time we can confirm the playable area that we're going to launch with in early
03:03access.
03:04In Chronicles Medieval you'll be able to conquer everything from the British Isles in the northwest,
03:09down to the northern parts of Italy in the southeast.
03:13And the Pyrenees in the southwest to today's Western Poland in the east.
03:20This is the first look at the exploration map in Chronicles Medieval.
03:24And we can't wait to show you more in the future.
03:35That's just a glimpse of what's waiting for you on the exploration map in Chronicles Medieval.
03:39We have much more news to share with you in the coming months,
03:42so be sure to follow us on socials and our discord to not miss a beat.
03:46With that, I'll see you next time.
03:57I'll see you next time.
