00:08There's lots of war and battles and fights in the history of San Sebastian, and I wonder if that could
00:13be a contributing reason for you and Xabi and Andoni coming this far in life and the attitude you have
00:20towards competition.
00:21To have tough skin, probably. We have obviously dealt with a lot internally inside the country as well, but I
00:33think that has reinforced us, it has made us different, not better, but different in a sense.
00:39We have used that probably education and those values to be probably more prepared when we have to face difficult
00:46moments and challenges to go for it.
00:49You came to Everton six months after he went to Liverpool. How important was that to you coming and living
00:59near him, next to him?
01:00That was incredible. But some incredible things happened. Pepe Reina and I used to share bank bets in Barcelona.
01:09And a few years later, we used to live next to each other in Liverpool and he was playing for
01:14Liverpool and I was playing for Liverpool.
01:15This is the magic of this beautiful game that you don't know how you can end up and some great
01:22moments happened.
01:23Many, many years ago you said that you and Xabi have to kind of keep your friendship quite quiet because
01:29people don't like seeing Liverpool player, Everton player, best friend.
01:33Is that the case now?
01:34I think you have to be sensible with that. There is no need to make certain things. The same with
01:38when Pepe was there or other players were there.
01:41That we shared some moments together, that's inevitable. But I think as well you have to be able to separate
01:46what is your profession and what is a human relationship.
01:49And finally to Simon.
01:51Hi.
01:52Just in terms of Xabi and Chelsea, do you put them as title contenders this evening?
01:59I think they have every ingredient to be in the highest part of the table, that's for sure.
02:05Knowing him, knowing the history of the club, the quality of the score that they have, the schedule that they're
02:12going to face in relation to other teams.
02:14So, yeah, it's very, very possible that that's going to be the case.
02:18I just wanted to ask you one on Bakayo as well.
02:21It feels like from the outside he's come back with a real far inside of him, difficult World Cup, difficult
02:27season with injuries.
02:28Have you noticed that and how have you reacted to his start of the season?
02:33I noticed that straight away and the fact that he wanted to come earlier, that was a great sign already,
02:38the way he prepared during the summer.
02:40But this happens in your career and then you need certain motivation or you need a little pinch sometimes to
02:48take you to a different level.
02:49And there are really good signs that Bakayo has given to think that that's going to be the case.
02:56Thanks, everyone.
