00:00:15We put it work...
00:00:17We put it work...
00:00:25Huge energy, iconic surroundings
00:00:28and the ultimate test of team unity welcome to Beijing China for live
00:00:34coverage of day four of the 2026 UIPM obstacle world championships it's time
00:00:40for the mixed team relay we're coming to you live for the last time in these
00:00:44championships from the spectacular setting of Universal City Walk Beijing
00:00:49and I'll tell you what there is a little bit of cloud cover over at the moment
00:00:54but it is steamy steamy hot for these athletes out here who are going to
00:00:59tackle this four by 100 meter relay history has been made every day so far
00:01:05here in China and our finale promises to be bring down the curtain in style and
00:01:11this is what the athletes will face four athletes on the team two men two women
00:01:14over the net and through and up and over the warped wall and onto the balance beam
00:01:19for the first athlete coming out there will then be a handover we'll see high
00:01:24fives of some variety before the second athlete takes on the monkey bars they're
00:01:30moving from the monkey bars onto the steps and then straight into the big wheel and
00:01:36then the technical part of the course two overheads the tilting ladders we'll see
00:01:41different techniques through there and then into the climbing holds before a bit
00:01:46of agility is required around a corner as well over a wall that's the third
00:01:52athletes job done we move on to the anchor roll and they will go through the
00:01:57rings they'll go underneath a little uh one of the other obstacles previously and
00:02:01then through the rings into the giant steps and then onto the wheels which they
00:02:05handle so deftly these athletes to cross the finish line and this is all about
00:02:13getting the fastest time to get onto the world championship podium i'm karen
00:02:18basher and joining me in the commentary booth to break down every single obstacle grip transition
00:02:23and split second strategy is renowned obstacle athlete physical trainer and endurance specialist
00:02:28all the way from aberdeen in scotland it is stuart amory hey stu um there's been a
00:02:35little it's been a little chaotic here teams changing uh as we've come to the run up here uh but
00:02:41this is what the athletes are going to face those that are in it yeah this is it uh they
00:02:45are finding
00:02:46their specialist but it is female male female male so there's no choice in what they do warped wall
00:02:51will be a female obstacle or female competitor doing it then we'll be on to the balance beam and round
00:02:58about here will be the changeover then it is on to the men with the monkey bars look out for
00:03:04some
00:03:04laches we mentioned them earlier where they lean back and literally use their bottom their lower body to move
00:03:10from obstacle to obstacle steps in the big wheel and the changeover will be done for the females they
00:03:14are on the next female is on the tilting ladders the climbing holds again watch them because this is
00:03:21only 100 meter each they will be going for it over the wall and then to the final handover where
00:03:28we have
00:03:28the final male absolutely going crazy to try and minimize the time on the obstacles and get to the finish
00:03:36line as possible rings giant steps and here we have the wheels and it'll be a sprint finish to the
00:03:43end
00:03:52there's a man who made history yesterday luke beckstrom from the united states of america going double
00:03:59world champion with gal shrimp from israel in the hundred meters we've got something a little
00:04:05different here but it is it has the same element of excitement the four by 100 i should say two
00:04:11female
00:04:11two male athletes but it's a mad dash for all of them isn't it it is it's mad dash but
00:04:17it's also the
00:04:17pressure if you've ever done a relay as soon as you get that button so to speak or the hand
00:04:22the the high
00:04:23five it's all on you and you do feel about you think about the other three athletes the pressure is
00:04:30on and you're trying to do your job as best as possible the crowd are in high anticipation of what
00:04:40is about to come let me tell you what's about to come we're going to have uh some age group
00:04:44uh
00:04:47heats in this and some of them are they're called heats technically but some of them are actual finals so
00:04:52the under 17 mixed team will go out first just four teams two from china philippines and russia then
00:04:58we'll move on to the under 19 uh mixed relay and we have australia philippines a mixed team from
00:05:06australia and israel competing in lane three and then poland will complete the under 19s we've then got
00:05:14three heats of the mixed senior competition china israel and the mixed team two go in heat number one
00:05:22and in heat number two it's another chinese team mixed team six in new zealand and then in the final
00:05:28mixed seniors four by 100 relay heat it will be mixed team five russia and france i'm going to take
00:05:35a
00:05:35little pause and tell you what's coming up because uh mixed team five only just got submitted in the uh
00:05:43last few minutes in the run-up to this and we just saw there uh the new women's elite world
00:05:49champion
00:05:50yeah we did absolutely amazing and uh yeah she was up against this this woman uh mila stanzani from
00:05:57great britain so that was the perfectly timing by our camera guys to get the round of 16 match it
00:06:04was
00:06:05mila and uh this year or the current we can say now world champion 100 meter elite competitor
00:06:14yeah brilliant from israel uh well look once we've got through the uh three heats of the mixed seniors
00:06:19we'll move on to the mixed elite competition uh to conclude uh this championships and our coverage
00:06:26here we have three heats in that china france hong kong and israel go in heat number one they'll be
00:06:31followed by philippines two italy south africa one and poland in heat number two and then the heat
00:06:39number three russia the second south african team of philippines and the usa will finish things off
00:06:45on this four by 100 meter course so we've got plenty of action to come unfortunately i have to tell
00:06:54you
00:06:54that we've had a delay in the start probably because of that extra team being added to the uh mixed
00:07:02uh sorry to the mixed elite relay and uh there is an athlete bottom right of your screen who has
00:07:08four
00:07:09medals from four events uh russia's anna cedova it's a thrilling party atmosphere and there's daniel ekstrom
00:07:17who's the one that came over to the commentary position to tell us that hey we haven't been entered
00:07:22yet we're not sure when we're starting he's smiling now uh they are going in uh the third heat and
00:07:30uh we
00:07:31will see them get out there uh but look as uh the crowd wait in anticipation i can tell you
00:07:37that we
00:07:37have had a technical delay we're going to leave you just for now for these with these pictures but
00:07:41we'll give you an update just as soon as we can
00:07:52so
00:07:53ladies and gentlemen
00:07:53ladies and gentlemen you are for the university of law
00:07:58lady montana
00:08:00reporting in to the four hundred meter relay
00:08:05two men
00:08:06two women
00:08:07each running one hundred meters
00:08:09they run a hundred meters
00:08:11it's academic partner.
00:08:13They run 100 meters, it's match number three,
00:08:16then number four, and it's first to the finish,
00:08:19seeing each team drive back better.
00:08:22We're better together, and we're more than keen
00:08:24to get into the finish, trying to win that gold medal.
00:08:32The ladies will start off with the men.
00:08:35All the men will be running to keep the numbers
00:08:37as number two and number four,
00:08:39and they are made in high, and this is one and three.
00:08:50We're here at Universal CityWalk Beijing
00:08:53for last day of coverage of the UiPM 2026
00:08:57Obstacle World Championships.
00:08:59It is pretty steamy out there.
00:09:01We've got the four by 100 mixed relay to come in our coverage.
00:09:06Plenty of action on course ahead of us
00:09:09as the teams are right out there.
00:09:11They're just waiting to find out the new start time is,
00:09:15as are we, as I say, and I'm joined by Stuart Amery.
00:09:20Stuart, it's interesting, isn't it, with this mixed relay team,
00:09:23because for us, there's a little bit of tension in terms of
00:09:27making sure we've got start lists and all that kind of stuff,
00:09:30but these athletes look completely chilled, completely relaxed.
00:09:33Well, there you go, perfectly set up.
00:09:37Luke Bexrand, one of the best athletes in the world.
00:09:41Showing you exactly, yeah, yeah, he's chilled.
00:09:43He's found a bit of shade next to his teammate, Max Salibra,
00:09:47both gold medalists in yesterday's 100 meters.
00:09:51And Jaleesa, you can just see the top of her head there as well.
00:09:54So that is the American team finding a bit of shade and relaxing.
00:09:58Yes, they've been here many times before, and they know relax, be flexible,
00:10:03because you never know when you're going to get called.
00:10:09Do you normally have sort of, I don't want to, I'm reluctant to call it party atmosphere,
00:10:14but do you normally have this relaxed atmosphere on the final day of competition,
00:10:17even though this is the World Championships?
00:10:19Yeah, every final day has this little bit of relaxed atmosphere.
00:10:25Looks like we're ready to go here as we begin coverage of the mixed under-17 relay team.
00:10:32Russia being led out, Philippines, and then two teams from China.
00:10:41This is Zara Chua from the Philippines in lane number three.
00:10:47And we are up and running.
00:10:49Yes, we are. So here we go, Russia, it is China and Philippines.
00:10:54It looks like we've got a good lead by Daniela Koshikova up onto the warped wall,
00:11:00and watch out for the changeover.
00:11:02Net warped wall, balance beam, and then we'll see the changeover from our lead athlete.
00:11:07Beautifully done.
00:11:10Brilliant stuff from the Russian, we get the first male athlete coming out now,
00:11:14and look at that through the monkey bars.
00:11:16Just missing out, tried to skip the fifth one, but couldn't do it.
00:11:20And this is a quick one, up the steps and through the wheel before the next transition.
00:11:25And here comes the transition to Anastasia Gordieva, another fine young Russian athlete with the
00:11:31Philippines catching up very slightly, moving from obstacle to obstacle.
00:11:36It is tilting ladders, climbing holds as we see here, and they complete their leg,
00:11:41the third leg with the over wall. Clear lead for Russia right now.
00:11:48Now the Russian anchor picks up as he goes under the tunnel. It's Andrei Ikovolev who is going
00:11:55through the rings like they aren't even there. He is going to make it through the steps.
00:12:01The final obstacle, he is absolutely powering through the cross country.
00:12:07Gordie nearly had a slip there, but gets through, and it's going to be Russia who take the mixed
00:12:12under-17 title. And coming up in the rear, it is the Philippines, and it is Mark Pakiguan who's
00:12:20going to cross the line for the silver medal.
00:12:24And there must have been a fall early on for team number three, but there is the champions,
00:12:33and the handover finally for this team competing on home soil.
00:12:45And China will take the under-17 bronze medal here at the mixed relay, the world championships.
00:12:53It must have been an early fall there, but keen to finish in front of this home crowd.
00:13:00And there we have it, the under-17 mixed team competition complete here with Russia taking the
00:13:07gold medal. Philippines with silver, China with the bronze.
00:13:13That was a happy start from Russia, and it was a happy finish as well.
00:13:17Yeah, they led from start to finish, so they had no problems there. Beautiful legs from all of our
00:13:23Russian athletes loving the changeover. Literally like slow down. Technique was fantastic. We did see a
00:13:29little bit of a momentum slip. There you go. That's exactly it. But held well with the other arm. Changeover
00:13:36from leg two to three.
00:13:39Nicely done on the wheels. And then he powers towards that finish line. Well done to Russia.
00:13:52Brilliant stuff. The Russian quartet. Daniela Kozikova, Konstantin Mozeko, Anastasia Godiva, and Andrei Yakulev.
00:14:03Four champions of the world. We move on to the under-19 mixed final.
00:14:12That is the Philippines Gabriela Dizon going in lane two from Chloe Haidt of Australia in one.
00:14:18And now Isabella Allen from Australia is teaming up with three Israelis for a mixed team.
00:14:25And Poland's Hanna Paciota will lead out. Time for the world title fight in the under-19 mixed team relay.
00:14:46And they are off Thumbi their race director of the 400 meters from the Philippines just making sure
00:14:52everyone is good as they tackle the first obstacle the net. Nice little difference of techniques.
00:14:58Looks like someone might have to go around again but we are on the warped wall.
00:15:02The mixed team with Australian in the lead. With Poland slow well just not too far behind onto the balance
00:15:11beam.
00:15:11The mixed team in the lead.
00:15:13Great start from Isabella Allen. She hands over to Eren Soot. The Israeli through the monkey bars.
00:15:19Look at the technique. Fabulous stuff. The mixed team are miles ahead here.
00:15:25Into the steps of the big wheel and now the next transition.
00:15:28Yeah, changeover from Israel to Israel in the mixed team. We've got Ronnie Golan.
00:15:33They can pick some of the best athletes here. And here she goes. Nothing but focus as she goes from
00:15:41obstacle to obstacle. Now on the climbing holds. But Poland are catching up.
00:15:48And Poland are now in the lead. Absolutely beautiful move from Gabriela Brzezdovic.
00:15:53And the changeover now. Brzezdovic hands over to Zufliki. Simon Zufliki. Oh, he's fallen. He's fallen in the rings.
00:16:03He's going to have to repeat. And now it's Shafri-Fri in the mixed team representing Israel. He is through.
00:16:09And he is going to make this as long as he doesn't make a mistake through the wheels.
00:16:14This is a fabulous race between these under 19 athletes and the mixed team.
00:16:20One Australian, three Israelis take the gold here at the World Championships.
00:16:25What a finish in the end.
00:16:29Poland must have made another mistake there because that looked like Oliver Clapham from Australia getting through.
00:16:37And here comes the Philippines. Kaiser Rosales to finish things off. It must have been a second fail for
00:16:45the Polish team who really had stormed ahead of the mixed team.
00:16:51Philippines still some way to go.
00:16:53Yeah, definitely something wrong with the Polish team. And they did so well with Gabriela catching up.
00:17:00But something went wrong on that final changeover or the final athlete. But yes, here we go with Rosales.
00:17:09All the way across the line. Well, coming out to the wheels now.
00:17:12Never give up is what they say. And the Philippines were miles behind, but they kept going.
00:17:17And they have taken the bronze medal here at the World Championships.
00:17:20Well, what a race. The mixed team taking the gold from Australia and the Philippines taking bronze
00:17:27after a double fail from Poland. We think through the rings.
00:17:34Yeah, we'll hopefully see this. There's the changeover. There's Gabriela in Poland.
00:17:39Obviously, the changeover in the mixed team was fantastic, but Gabriela absolutely flew.
00:17:43So what happened? Let's find out. Beautiful technique. She looks over as she passes.
00:17:50And then here it probably is. Yeah, down. I get that. That's fine. Comes back round as he does.
00:17:56But what happens after that is a double fail. Yes, it is. So Poland are eliminated for double fail on
00:18:02the same obstacle.
00:18:06Delighted Shafirifi over the line. The mixed team have taken the gold medal. Isabella Allen from Australia
00:18:14with her three Israeli comrades, Eran Sur, Ronnie Golan and Gal Shafirifi, the new world champions.
00:18:28We move on to the senior age group in this four by 100 mixed relay. China, Israel and a mixed
00:18:34team
00:18:35go in heat number one. China, a mixed team and New Zealand go in two. And then we have a
00:18:40third mixed team
00:18:41going up against Russia and France in heat number three. And this is all about the clock. So we need
00:18:47to
00:18:47start writing down time, Stu. Here is the first heat. China leading out by Guo Zhenchai. Israel will be led
00:18:57out by Adi Kerem. Now the mixed team led out by Switzerland's Florina Yurt.
00:19:07Yeah, this is going to be exciting. We're looking forward to what happens in this. A little slip from
00:19:14Kerem from Israel. But Israel is in the lead. First obstacle done. The net onto the warp wall. That
00:19:21is how you do it. Straight down that slide. It looks so exciting. I might give that a shot later
00:19:27on.
00:19:27And on to the final obstacle, the balance beam, making sure she makes that changeover well. Changing over
00:19:33there to Tio Harari, who misses the first two of the monkey bars. Three, five and seven. And he is
00:19:42flying
00:19:42through this. Big steps into the wheel and on to another transition. And if you're going to transition
00:19:49it to anyone, let's it be Daphne Gitler, who is age group world champion in the 100 meters. Absolutely
00:19:56flying. Look at the power and the speed. Wow. As she makes her way up to the climbing holds,
00:20:01we can't see anyone else. There's the mixed team, the other Yurt Pentathlon athlete. But Daphne
00:20:07Gitler is over the top of the wall and changes over. Nevo Beck entering for Israel.
00:20:14They are going to set the fastest time in the three heats. And he is through the rings as though
00:20:19they
00:20:19weren't there. Unbelievable speed in between the obstacles. He needs to be careful not to make a
00:20:24mistake here though. He gets to the wheels. Oh, super. But did he make it over? It looks like
00:20:31he did. He's powering across the line. And that will be the fastest time set so far. What has happened
00:20:37to the mixed team? Because the Philippines have come in here. And it is, it is the mixed team who
00:20:43make it
00:20:44over the line because that was Marc Rodelas crossing the line for a mixed team of three Swiss athletes and
00:20:51the Philippines. And here the Chinese team grinding through the obstacles here. It is supremely hot,
00:21:00but great to see host nation teams taking part. Yeah, definitely. This shows how difficult these obstacles
00:21:07are. We see maybe a relatively inexperienced athlete tackling these obstacles. But when you see the
00:21:13ninjas and how good they are. When I say ninjas, the explosive athletes. And we're seeing this right
00:21:19now with our final legged runner. It is Su Yongfang going from obstacle to obstacle on to the giant steps.
00:21:29Wheels to go. I'm sure he wants to put on a show here. Big jump. Yeah, that is how you
00:21:33do it.
00:21:34Quick movement from hand to hand and all the way across the line.
00:21:41Well, there we have the times. China with a 150 35. Israel setting the fastest time so far.
00:21:52Yeah, great start by our Israeli athlete. Karen loving the changeover. As you said, a high five of
00:21:58sorts. That was a pat on the back. Harari, a great competitor getting ready for that changeover.
00:22:06To Daphne Gittler, as we said, an experienced athlete and powerful as she makes her way over that wall like
00:22:12it's not even there. And then here we go. This is how you do it. Going from ring to ring.
00:22:20Going for the
00:22:20double grip technique, which just means I'm guaranteeing I'm not going to slip. If you go for one arm,
00:22:26you could have that problem. And Beck crosses the line and brings Israel home in first.
00:22:33Beck, Gittler, Harari and Kerem of Israel with a time of 84 38. The time to beat. And they're pretty
00:22:41happy with it. And I tell you what, they were absolutely pegging it between the obstacles.
00:22:47They handled the obstacles beautifully. So that could be a very tough time to beat. We move on to the
00:22:53second of the seniors heats. Yang leading out for China. And New Zealand led out by Katie Graham. A
00:23:03mixed team has Nikita Rishbi from South Africa beginning. And we are off China, mixed team and New
00:23:11Zealand. So tentative start on this one. Going for the up on the air technique. You can see the
00:23:18difference from the mixed team and the Chinese team. It looks like Rishbi with that slightly. But China
00:23:25definitely not giving up. And you're going to hear the crowd get that little bit louder as we get to
00:23:31the final obstacle in this leg one. Balance beam for them. And South Africa make the change first.
00:23:38Yeah, in the mixed team and handing over to Jeffrey Reginio. And he gets the monkey bars. He just touches
00:23:45two and three but very quickly through. Different technique. Mixed team still leading but only by a
00:23:51whisker as they come through the steps into the big wheel and hand over to athlete number three. And there
00:23:57is the handover. It's neck and neck between these two teams. The mixed team and the Chinese team doing so
00:24:03well. In the mixed team we have Serrano from the Philippines there. And Zhu from China. Philippines
00:24:11athletes showing her experience as she makes her way up onto the climbing holds. Where is the Chinese
00:24:17athlete? Here she comes. So again, Ace is just making sure she makes her way safely. Both athletes being quite
00:24:26cautious on that. The next one is the overwall before the final changeover.
00:24:33And here we go for that final changeover. Sean Nile Ong up and through the rings. Just held up a
00:24:41little
00:24:42bit but uses his momentum there on the swing to get through over the steps. Leaping over the final two
00:24:49steps. And now up onto the wheels. He whizzes past the competition two and four and over the line from
00:24:56the mixed team.
00:24:57Trust the line in first place. I'm not sure that's the time to beat as China are anchored by Gao
00:25:03Yiming.
00:25:06New Zealand team still out there on the field of play. I believe that's Laura Grant. It is, yeah. Age
00:25:15group second place. I believe she was yesterday in the 100 meters. She's going to compete as hard as she
00:25:23can
00:25:23for our teammates. This is the Kiwi team. So Laura Grant handing over to Ben Vidios.
00:25:31Kia ora Ben. He comes up through the rings.
00:25:42And looking to set a good time here. It's not going to be the fastest but it is about finishing
00:25:49this one.
00:25:50Now Ben just having to grab that last ring. They've slowed up. It looks like he's got some issues with
00:25:56his
00:25:56hands as well. You can see all that tape. He'll be thankful of the steps.
00:26:01Yeah, the tape is because some of the climbing holds have been a bit rough. And if you can imagine
00:26:07four days of competition, it can start to wear those hands away. And that's probably what happened.
00:26:13So he's probably making it look comfortable, but probably going out, out, out, out, out,
00:26:18all the way through that final obstacle. New Zealand crossing the line. And they will set a time of 191
00:26:25.25
00:26:26for the second senior heat. That's the mixed team that got the fastest time at 108.37. And here it
00:26:34is.
00:26:37Yeah, fantastic work from our mixed team. Jeremy Reguino there handing over to his
00:26:43Filipino teammate. Obviously it's a mixed team in this one.
00:26:49And then we see Serrano. Beautiful movement using that lower body to propel her forward as she makes the
00:26:58change over to Sean Neely Ong. And he, I'll tell you that's one of the best techniques and well spotted
00:27:05as well from you that it went two to four leaving out the big wheels.
00:27:18Oh, delight all round. A real surprise. But we move on to the third senior heat.
00:27:28So we have a mixed team, Russia.
00:27:32And Russia being led out. Off this is Russians and the French.
00:27:38A bit of a neck and neck, but big jump.
00:27:40A little stumble as well, taking a risk. But that's what happened as we move from obstacle to obstacle.
00:27:47This is the one, the last minute team in the lead. Kasia Yonezic.
00:27:51A very decorated 100-meter ninja second in yesterday's competition.
00:27:57Hands over to Daniel Ekstrom, who goes 2-4. He was going for six, but he had to hit five.
00:28:04And Ekstrom now coming around into the steps of the big wheel, keeping the lead for the mixed team.
00:28:10But let's not forget, this is about time.
00:28:12It is indeed. As the changeover from Daniel, one of our obstacle race experts,
00:28:17handing over to Madeline Zurnsack, definitely a 100-meter specialist.
00:28:22And you can see why. She is powerful. She is strong.
00:28:25She's making her way from climbing hold to climbing hold, increasing that lead for the mixed team.
00:28:31And Lou, have you got on the last leg? Wow, one of the world's best.
00:28:36Oh, here we go. Gal Shrimp set that amazing match time in the immense 100 meters yesterday.
00:28:42And a new world champion here in the four and the one.
00:28:46And now he comes through to the wheels. What's the time going to be here?
00:28:51Look at the speed through those wheels, over the line.
00:28:55And a mixed team, number five, set the time.
00:28:59We haven't got it yet, but it's coming in as France have overtaken Russia in 83-69 for the mixed
00:29:06team.
00:29:06France are going to come across the line in second place with Russia just behind them.
00:29:11And we wait for those times to come in because 83-69 puts Gal Shrimp and his teammates in that
00:29:20mixed team,
00:29:21in contention for a medal here.
00:29:23And 98-38 for France.
00:29:26They also put themselves in the medals as we take a look back at that brilliant race,
00:29:31starting with Kasia Januszczyk of Poland.
00:29:36Harlem Globetrotters is all I can say.
00:29:38You put the best players together.
00:29:39And I tell you what, you had a dream team there.
00:29:43Some of the world's best competitors.
00:29:46Kasia Januszczyk, Daniel Ekstrom, Madeline Zurnsak.
00:29:50And you put it at the end.
00:29:52The end runner is a double gold medalist from these championships, Gal Shrimp.
00:29:59Wow.
00:30:00In one position for number three as well, because 83-69 is the fastest time so far from mixed team
00:30:06five.
00:30:07Kasia Januszczyk, Daniel Ekstrom, Madeline Zurnsak, and Gal Shrimp.
00:30:24Well, here we have it.
00:30:25Mixed team at the top of the order from Israel and sitting in third position.
00:30:33We think is mixed team two.
00:30:36We're just waiting for confirmation on that as we move into the start for the elite competition.
00:30:48Three heats here.
00:30:49China, France, Hong Kong, and Israel going in heat number one.
00:30:53It will be Philippines, Italy, South Africa, and Poland in two.
00:30:57And Russia, South Africa, Philippines, and the USA in three.
00:31:01And again, this is all about time.
00:31:06So we start with China's Chen Junling, medalist already at this competition.
00:31:11Beatrice Taborel will go out for France in the lead.
00:31:15Chuck Feiyin for Hong Kong.
00:31:17And there is Neuer Erlich from Israel.
00:31:21Yeah, this is a fantastic first lineup with these four athletes.
00:31:25China, France, Hong Kong, and Israel.
00:31:27Some gold medals amongst them as well.
00:31:30So the net done.
00:31:31It is China and France in the lead.
00:31:34Bernice Taborel and Chen from China.
00:31:37The little slide done.
00:31:39Absolutely love that balance beam now.
00:31:41Neck and neck between China and France with the first changeover.
00:31:46Yeah, France having the lead here.
00:31:48It's Dorian Libes on the bars coming through.
00:31:52But look at the catch-up there from Israel.
00:31:55And coming up in the back, he takes the tight line, the Frenchman.
00:31:59He's through the wheel.
00:32:01Yeah, and onto that changeover.
00:32:03That was Shinor Shirim on that one.
00:32:05Sorry, Shir Shirim on that one.
00:32:08And to May Yalom, yesterday's 100 meters.
00:32:10If you're going to have someone on the third leg,
00:32:11you might as have the world's best.
00:32:14Onto the climbing holds.
00:32:16It is Israel versus France.
00:32:19May Yalom versus Manuela Malem.
00:32:22And wow, look at that changeover.
00:32:25Handing over to the anchor for Israel.
00:32:28He's up and around.
00:32:30It's Shirim who's on the money here.
00:32:33He comes around the bend.
00:32:35This is one of the Shirim twins, and they are superstars of this sport.
00:32:40As he gets through the wheels, misses two and four.
00:32:43Just touching two and three.
00:32:45And Israel set the benchmark for the elite division here.
00:32:49France making it over the line.
00:32:51Their anchor, Alexandre Vuitt, coming through as well.
00:32:55And 83.02 for Israel.
00:32:58Hong Kong taking third place in the first heat.
00:33:00But don't forget, this is about time.
00:33:0388.67 for France, as China will complete the first heat.
00:33:1295.85 set by China.
00:33:16I think that might be the time for Hong Kong, actually.
00:33:19We will double-check that and get back to you.
00:33:22Yes, it was. Hong Kong setting a 95.85 to China with faster time.
00:33:30So, yeah, what an amazing race from our Israeli team.
00:33:35That is the fastest we've seen so far.
00:33:3783.02.
00:33:38So they've definitely put the benchmark.
00:33:40But well done to France as well.
00:33:4388.67.
00:33:45I mean, you've got some of the absolute world best in that Israeli team.
00:33:49Mae Yalom there.
00:33:50Look at her jumping over that as if it's not even there.
00:33:54And then we hand over to one of the shrimps, Sheer Shrimp.
00:33:58Beautifully done.
00:33:59A little bit of a slip there, but he made sure.
00:34:01And then look how quick he goes from almost leaning back there to then powering forward.
00:34:08That is sheer power from Sheer Shrimp.
00:34:11Ah, very good.
00:34:12He's almost got the same core strength as I have.
00:34:16I wish.
00:34:17Brilliant stuff, as you say.
00:34:19The fastest time set so far over this course.
00:34:22Unsurprisingly coming from Israel.
00:34:23Unsurprisingly in the elite division.
00:34:26Neuer Ehrlich, Sheer Shrimp, Mae Yalom and Shnoor Semyak completing the line.
00:34:34Here is the second heat.
00:34:36Philippines lining up with Italy.
00:34:41Federica Toni starting out for them.
00:34:43Now South Africa and Gail Podgitta will start for them as Anna Solakiewicz starts for Poland.
00:34:53Second of the mixed elite heats.
00:34:57All right, I can't wait for this one.
00:34:59This is going to be another close one between Philippines, Italy, South Africa and Poland.
00:35:05But it is Melissa Campos with that lead.
00:35:08A seasoned professional.
00:35:10She is so good.
00:35:12Again, very decorated from the Philippines.
00:35:15A really, really good athlete.
00:35:17But also is Federica Toni very good in the European Championships that we see her.
00:35:23Where the changeover is Philippines first.
00:35:24Yeah, Philippines.
00:35:26John Disson is on the monkey bars.
00:35:29Misses at two, four and six.
00:35:32And he will be quickly handing over to number three here as he goes through the steps of the big
00:35:36wheel.
00:35:36Philippines have a massive lead.
00:35:38Yeah, they do.
00:35:38Handing over to Aubrey Marlette Lusanta.
00:35:42Again, these Philippines are some of the world's best athletes.
00:35:45But big slowdown there.
00:35:46And I think Anna Garlis from Poland tried.
00:35:49Oh, we've got a double fall.
00:35:50So it looks like Italy could take the lead.
00:35:52Michel Monti.
00:35:54Michel Monti benefited from two failures from our Philippines and Polish team.
00:36:01So it is Italy in the lead.
00:36:05Climbing hold to climbing hold.
00:36:06Here comes the Polish.
00:36:07Here comes the Philippines.
00:36:09But Italy with the last leg runner.
00:36:12And he is no slouch.
00:36:14Here we go.
00:36:15Here he is.
00:36:17Valentino Divana is looking to be a winner here in Beijing.
00:36:23Coming around the bend.
00:36:25Oh, brilliant technique with the feet there.
00:36:27Just almost like a rugby side step to get himself in the line for those steps.
00:36:32Through the wheels.
00:36:32Two and four.
00:36:34Flying through the air.
00:36:35Sprinting over the line.
00:36:36Italy set the fastest time in heat.
00:36:38Two Philippines weren't too far behind.
00:36:41And Poland dashing over the line.
00:36:44With Premislav Janszuk finishing things off.
00:36:48But 98.88 for Italy.
00:36:50It was not the fastest time out there.
00:36:53In fact, it doesn't make the top three.
00:36:55Philippines just over 100 seconds.
00:36:59And South Africa bringing up the rear here.
00:37:03We have a time of 104.63 for Poland.
00:37:07South Africa just trying to get across the line.
00:37:09And a fail there on the obstacle from the South African.
00:37:12Brandon Hulley.
00:37:13I tell you what.
00:37:13It's really sticky and steamy out there.
00:37:16Hulley actually elected to go on a different set of rings.
00:37:18Maybe he made that one a little sweaty.
00:37:21And tried for a different line.
00:37:24Comes through the steps.
00:37:26And he's still smiling.
00:37:28There is a party atmosphere here on the final day of the World Championships.
00:37:32And look at that hand speed.
00:37:34Despite the efforts he's gone through.
00:37:36Brandon Hulley crossing the line for South Africa.
00:37:40Great run by all of our competitors.
00:37:43Yes, I think to challenge the athletes in heat.
00:37:47Number one in the elites.
00:37:49It had to be one of the other two.
00:37:51The Polish or the Philippines.
00:37:53That mistake let Italy come in and take the lead.
00:37:56The Philippines were looking so good.
00:37:59But as you'll see.
00:38:00Both athletes on the same obstacle.
00:38:04Here we go.
00:38:04Tilting ladders.
00:38:05Poland down.
00:38:06Anna Garlas.
00:38:07Missing out there.
00:38:07There goes our Philippines athlete.
00:38:10Aubrey Lusanta.
00:38:11And that is the point where it was then handed to the athletes or the teams in heat one.
00:38:18Because they set an amazing marker with 83, 88 and 95.
00:38:27So this is the moment that Italy took the lead with Michelle Monti.
00:38:31And as I said, no slouch is Valentino Davana.
00:38:37Absolute powerhouse of an athlete.
00:38:38I mean, look at him go.
00:38:40Yeah, 100% effort used by Italy and the Philippines to cross the line.
00:38:45In first and second in the second heat.
00:38:47Not good enough times to challenge the podium just yet.
00:38:51But we have one more heat to come.
00:38:53And I'll tell you what.
00:38:55There's a couple of teams in here that you've got to look out for.
00:38:58Ekaterina Akharova starts for Russia.
00:39:02Ashley Raff goes in the second South African team.
00:39:07And there is Maritas Masoya for the Philippines.
00:39:12And this team led out by Tiana Webley.
00:39:15The United States could be in for the medals.
00:39:21Yeah, in my opinion, this is between Russia and USA.
00:39:25And it could be between those two for the gold medal.
00:39:28Look at T Webley.
00:39:29Tiana, they're absolutely flying.
00:39:32You've got, this is packed with podiums, etc.
00:39:37Ekaterina Akharova with Tiana Webley as they make the change over very soon.
00:39:42After the balance beam, neck and neck.
00:39:45Well, the interesting thing here is the USA continue to hold the lead
00:39:48with Luke Bextran, who flies through the monkey bars.
00:39:53But the Russian just behind, Proctor Kanonen, is going for it.
00:39:58And absolutely brilliant.
00:40:00It's actually Salibra who hands over.
00:40:03And to the next change over two of the world's best.
00:40:06This is Anna Sadova.
00:40:08Four medals in these championships so far against Jaleesa Himka, Ninja Jaleesa.
00:40:13These two are two of the world's best ninja athletes.
00:40:17And it looks like his young 14-year-old handing over from...
00:40:22Well, it's over to Daniel Kostinov.
00:40:24Can Russia get themselves amongst the medals here?
00:40:27Will it be five out of five podiums for Sadova?
00:40:30Kostinov is going for this.
00:40:31He's absolutely flying.
00:40:33Luke Beckstrom's catching up with him, though.
00:40:36They're into the wheels.
00:40:36This is going to be a massive...
00:40:38What an overtake from Luke Beckstrom.
00:40:41The 100m champion has set a fabulous pace in that final leg.
00:40:47The USA and Russia, we wait for their times as the Philippines come through.
00:40:51At 78.56 for the United States of America.
00:40:54That puts them in the gold medal position.
00:40:57South Africa trailing with the Philippines.
00:40:59Into 79.12 for Russia.
00:41:02And I think that puts them gold and silver.
00:41:05We wait for confirmation of that as the Philippines cross the line at 89.40.
00:41:10Is that enough for the medals?
00:41:12I'm not sure it is.
00:41:14South Africa desperate to cross the line here.
00:41:17But what a run from Luke Beckstrom in the United States of America.
00:41:21I think that was what won the gold medal for the USA.
00:41:27As we wait for South Africa to cross the line.
00:41:29Aristo Nolan finishing the job here.
00:41:32He goes through the wheels.
00:41:34Fist pumping the crowd here.
00:41:36Delighted to be involved in this elite competition.
00:41:39And they're going to set a time here to finish things off.
00:41:43The absolute electric action here in Beijing has finished on the track.
00:41:48And it finished with Luke Beckstrom throwing everything at it.
00:41:52A 140.70 for South Africa.
00:41:55The last time to come in.
00:41:57Oh, look at the start as well from the USA.
00:42:00We haven't seen anyone else do what Tiana Webberley did over that rope, that net.
00:42:05Yeah.
00:42:06Amazing.
00:42:07Amazing from the USA.
00:42:08And I'll be honest.
00:42:09I thought Russia had it until I remembered that it was Luke Beckstrand on the last leg.
00:42:13And I just went, no, hang on, hang on, hang on.
00:42:16Watch this.
00:42:18Well, there's a handover to Sadova who's competed in all five events that she could have done here.
00:42:23And she's been on the podium in every single one.
00:42:25A superstar teenager made here in Beijing.
00:42:32Yeah.
00:42:33Amazing.
00:42:34You cannot write off Luke Beckstrand.
00:42:36The Russians are a dream team as well.
00:42:39So, so good.
00:42:41But look at Luke.
00:42:43I mean, that was amazing.
00:42:44But watch this bit.
00:42:45He knew he had one option.
00:42:47Danila is no slouch.
00:42:49But look at that.
00:42:51Almost didn't even need that last ring, but did it.
00:42:54And overtaken on an obstacle is Luke Beckstrand in a nutshell.
00:43:00I mean, I don't know if he'd got the whole disappointment of the 400 meters losing his shoe on that
00:43:07net and just went, I am taking this home.
00:43:10I want another gold medal.
00:43:12Well, 78-56 the time set by the USA Quartet of Tiana Webberley.
00:43:17Max Salibra and brilliant stuff as well from Jaleesa Himka and Luke Beckstrand, the man who brought it over the
00:43:29line.
00:43:30A 78-56 enough for the gold medal in the elite competition for the United States of America.
00:43:37Russia in that final heat setting a 79-12 to finish second.
00:43:41And there we have confirmation that it's Israel with a 13, I'm sorry, an 83-02 or a 1 minute
00:43:4723-02 to complete the lineup for the podium.
00:43:51United States taking gold here in the elite 4x100 mixed rail here at the UIPM 2026 Obstacle World Championships.
00:44:00Russia taking the silver, Israel in bronze.
00:44:20Russia taking the silver, Israel in bronze.

00:44:38Russia taking the silver, Israel in bronze.
00:44:41busy entrance of a fairground attraction park and here okay so I'm here with the
00:44:53elite mix team four by 100 meter winners gold medal world champion first of all
00:45:01led out by Tiana Weverly Tiana tell us what happened I just was so excited to
00:45:08be a part of this team these guys are animals and just wanted to get out there
00:45:11get us a good start just so cuz I knew they could carry it the rest of the way
00:45:14no matter where I was at so just wanted to get us a good start very quickly tell
00:45:19us about that neck technique I've never seen that before that rule that you did
00:45:22I think it's just the stunt performer in me I just throw my body over and you know
00:45:27find my feet so that's what my my plan was so if you're gonna hand over it's not
00:45:32bad to hand over to this man this young man Max Alibra Max how was leg two for
00:45:36you it was terrifying competing with so many of these elite athletes I'm
00:45:40haven't competed in elite for OCR ever so this was such a wonderful first
00:45:44experience yeah you are amongst some of the world's best but Max will see you in
00:45:50elite very soon I'm sure so then we hand over to Jaleesa Himka Jaleesa how did
00:45:55that feel it was super exciting I knew I had to send some moves to keep up with
00:45:59Anna but it was a lot of fun and just ran as fast as I could and handed it off
00:46:04to
00:46:04Luke he took it so basically in commentary I'm
00:46:08like oh rush I'll have it and then I saw you take the bat and then I went this
00:46:12guy is annoyed from what happened in the 400 meters and wow wow wow Luke taking it
00:46:18in second place what was in your mind I knew I had to push it he's an incredible
00:46:24athlete I was trailing so I tried to run as fast as I could and I hit my moves on
00:46:29the wheels this time and so caught up and got the win and feels amazing yeah I
00:46:35think I've almost lost my voice commentating on your moves on that final
00:46:38two obstacles ladies and gentlemen the USA team number one gold medalist world
00:46:44champions in the four by 100 well done guys
00:46:51it's so young much more to come from team USA 78 56 the time that took the world title but
00:46:59it's a final leg from Luke Beckstrom was something to behold absolutely thrilling
00:47:06overtake on an obstacle every single day of these championships has brought us some
00:47:13stunning moves by these amazing athletes special nods to Anna Sadova as well from
00:47:19Russia they took the silver medal she's teamed up with Arcarveur, Kanonin and
00:47:26Kozinov and she's competed in five events here most that she could do for a 14 year
00:47:33old and she's taken two golds a silver and two bronze medals absolutely stunning but
00:47:40the man of the day Luke Beckstrom and the man of the moment back in the commentary box
00:47:45Stuart Amory they were absolutely brilliant and accomplished PR training done for team USA as
00:47:54well they were very good when you say man of the moment I'm like Luke Beckstrom's behind me I mean
00:48:00what a guy I'm honest I said I was in commentary and I thought oh Russia I've got it and
00:48:05then I was
00:48:06like oh hang on a minute they've got their secret weapon well I'll say secret that's a secret isn't a
00:48:11secret
00:48:12and I mean what a move and he said he had to send it and yeah when I asked him
00:48:18about yeah were you
00:48:21annoyed about the 400 meters and he just looked at me and he went yep and it was like a
00:48:26calm I had to
00:48:27right some wrongs and that was what was in his face I love the fact that Max was like I
00:48:33was in a
00:48:34team with these guys I mean they are multi-podium world champions the three of them and Max obviously
00:48:40age group quite often so Max deserved his place in that team but he performed really well he was so
00:48:46good
00:48:47I mistaked him for Luke Beckstrom in the second leg he was super fast and did his job for for
00:48:53that team
00:48:54what what about I mentioned uh Anna Sadova five events five medals two gold a silver now in this
00:49:00and then two bronze medals as well she is something phenomenal she's incredible she's absolutely
00:49:07incredible like I said a couple of days ago I saw her name on the start list of the 3k
00:49:13and I went
00:49:14surely that's a mistake and that's that's really naive of me but a hundred meter specialist favorite for
00:49:21the hundred she wins the gold medal in the 400 and that is the point when I'm like hang on
00:49:26a minute
00:49:27she's doing a 3k yeah I mean it's the equivalent of doing a 5k in athletics and winning the hundred
00:49:32meters as well I mean it's it's it's pretty bonkers and she's just 14 years old and if she keeps
00:49:38her
00:49:38program up like that she is going to set all new records now on that point um I think it's
00:49:44worth mentioning
00:49:44you're you're well entrenched in this uh sport you know all of the athletes they they all love you
00:49:50coming up to you for selfies who's this guy standing next to you and I just stand there and
00:49:54hold the camera and take the photograph but you know you know these guys the idea is that you know
00:49:57these guys so well they have loved this competition haven't they and they particularly like the coverage
00:50:03as well yeah that is one thing that's definitely been mentioned um because we had more sports this
00:50:11year we had more events we had the 3k we had the four by 100 as well added to an
00:50:17amazing
00:50:17championship last year we had more athletes here and I think to finish the event with a relay just
00:50:24like athletics we see on tv to finish it with that excitement and what a final final final final heat
00:50:31we
00:50:31had there um yeah they've loved it I've loved it it's been an absolute honor to be here in Beijing
00:50:37China
00:50:38yeah it's been fabulous uh competition here uh setting a new benchmark for the sport as it makes its bid
00:50:45for
00:50:45the Olympics and uh well by this standard here what we've seen over the days the three different
00:50:52venues has been absolutely stunning and I'll tell you what the other thing is your athletes are massive
00:50:59ambassadors for the sport when they're talking about it and they're going on they're talking about
00:51:04inspiring other people to get involved in this and let's face it every kid plays in a school playground
00:51:09and I even called uh the 3k a playground for the under 11s and it wasn't great to see the
00:51:15under 11s
00:51:16competing it was so good and so well planned with the elites and the under 11s in the 3k and
00:51:24you summed
00:51:24it up perfectly well this is what happens when you never stop playing this is playgrounds we saw
00:51:30Laura Grant one of our our older athletes from New Zealand out there alongside some under 11s and and
00:51:38absolutely loving it everyone loves this sport and as you were saying earlier the athletes are the
00:51:45nicest athletes I can't and I wouldn't even if I could think of one I wouldn't mention a bad one
00:51:51but there seriously isn't they are the nicest people they're hugs Tiana at the end um I went and high
00:51:58fived them all and she went she gave me a massive hug and she goes I'm a hugger I'm a
00:52:01hugger so it was like
00:52:02they are the nicest loveliest people and I'm glad you've got to see it as well they are they are
00:52:08amazing
00:52:08me too absolutely fabulous performance uh the only bad thing about this has been your American accent
00:52:13that was bad wasn't it sorry
00:52:16well we've had a brilliant four days here featuring uh the 400 meters uh the three kilometer
00:52:23the 100 meters on neon street last night was probably my highlight I've got to be honest
00:52:28uh but I think because the atmosphere uh this venue allowed for that but today's 4x100 I said to you
00:52:35yesterday I'm not sure what to expect here you know I've watched some obviously but but that was
00:52:41stunningly quick I mean you move from uh one athlete to the next in a blink of an eye and
00:52:47the time set
00:52:48under 80 seconds phenomenal absolutely phenomenal to touch on what you said about the 100 meters what I
00:52:54loved is we are here a universal city walk right next to the 100 meters course on one of the
00:53:01main
00:53:01buildings I don't know if it was a cinema but we had a big screen so there was a crowd
00:53:05of people looking
00:53:06at the big screen and then they actually realized that if you turn around what is on the big screen
00:53:11is
00:53:11right behind them on neon park neon street and the crowd there was brilliant which made that atmosphere
00:53:18and what an amazing final race to have two two times exactly the same and then to finish off this
00:53:25event with that uh relay team was just phenomenal
00:53:31unfortunately all good things must come to an end and uh we move on from uh beijing but I say
00:53:38we move
00:53:38on from beijing beijing signed a contract to host these world championships for four years they held it last
00:53:44year this is the second year of the uipm obstacle world championships and we've got two more years
00:53:50here in beijing uh to come and they have proven that they're absolutely brilliant hosts what we've got
00:53:57left here in our coverage is uh the medal award ceremony as they call it at this competition for the
00:54:03athletes and that will be coming up very soon
00:54:20uh
