00:00We've always been treated respectfully by President Putin and his team.
00:04Relationships are critical in terms of solving conflicts like this.
00:09And if you don't have relationships with both sides and you have poor communication,
00:16then you probably have very, very little chance of getting to a peaceful resolution.
00:22We came to see President Putin first.
00:26We needed to hear where he stood.
00:27We had good, concrete conversation with him, which we advised President Zelensky and his team about.
00:34Both sides have to come to a resolution here.
00:38And my job and Jared's job together is to bring the parties together,
00:43to narrow the issues between them, to create good communication channels.
00:47And hopefully we began that process constructively in the last 48 hours.
00:53And we're confident that there'll be a good resolution here.
00:56You never know with any deal, right?
00:58So it's not done until it's done.
00:59And it could happen quickly.
01:00It could happen slowly.
01:03But it's not going to happen if you don't have these meetings and these dialogues.
01:06And so, again, we're doing a lot of work behind the scenes to try and create the right conditions for
01:11it.
01:11It's a very, very hard problem.
01:13But we're going to try.
01:14And I think if we can achieve that, it would be an incredible thing.
01:17It doesn't mean that we will achieve it.
01:19But it's an effort that's very important to try.
01:22And so we're going to continue to do it.
01:24You know, we have to start with the first principles idea of what the best outcome could be and what
01:29benefits all people.
01:31You know, President Trump comes from the business world,
01:33which in the business world you think about things in the context of win-win.
01:37You know, how do you create opportunities for both sides to do what's in their interest?
01:41War is negative sum.
01:42You know, everyone loses from war, whereas, you know, business and peace is positive sum.
01:47And hopefully you can find big benefits from that in a big way.
