00:00Bu her 5th time this season,
00:02in all competitions.
00:04And only 26 days after their last meeting.
00:08Once again,
00:10Arsenal vs Chelsea.
00:13Local rivalry in a global spotlight.
00:18Two teams who know
00:20that there is no capital punishment
00:22quite like losing a London derby.
00:26Ebe Eze, who was at his imperious best last weekend.
00:31Arsenal hoping that that could be the start
00:33of a run of form for their number 10.
00:36For Chelsea, they've had more Premier League defeats
00:39against Arsenal in the past,
00:41than against any other opponent.
00:51Now Mikel Arteta has the luxury of naming an unchanged team
00:55from the impressive North London derby win over Spurs.
00:58David Reier starts behind a defence
01:00that is looking to keep its first clean sheet
01:02in four Premier League games.
01:04Gabriel scored a winning goal against Chelsea
01:07at Stamford Bridge three seasons ago.
01:10The midfield remains Martin Zubimendi,
01:12who has played in all of Arsenal's Premier League games
01:15this season.
01:15And Declan Rice, who has only missed one.
01:18Ahead of them, Ebe Eze, who was rewarded for his two goals
01:22against Spurs last Sunday with another start today.
01:26And leading the line,
01:26another player who scored twice last weekend,
01:29Victor Jokeres.
01:30There is no Martin Odegaard today,
01:32not even on the bench,
01:33but former Chelsea player Kai Havertz
01:36is back amongst the stars.
01:41Now Liam Rossinia makes two changes from Chelsea's last game.
01:44The 1-1 draw at home to Burnley last weekend.
01:47Both alterations are in defence.
01:49So Robert Sanchez starts behind a back four
01:52that is without the suspended Wesley Fofana.
01:55So Mamadou Saar starts in the Premier League
01:57for the first time.
01:59And teenager Jono Hato,
02:00who's been a sub in seven of the last eight Premier League games,
02:03in from the start,
02:04replacing the injured Mark Kukulea.
02:07The last time these sides met to the Premier League,
02:09Moise Casado was sent off after just 38 minutes.
02:13He is partnered by Brazilian Andres Santos.
02:16Ahead of them, Cole Palmer has scored five goals
02:19in five Premier League appearances
02:21under Liam Rossinia so far.
02:24Four of them from the penalty spot.
02:26And Chelsea's top scorer this season is Joao Pedro,
02:29hoping today to be on the winning side against Arsenal
02:32for the first time in his career.
02:34On the bench, Mauro Gusto,
02:37who had started the last four Premier League games in a row.
02:41This is the third time these sides have met in all competitions
02:44in the last 46 days.
02:47Arsenal beat Chelsea both home and away
02:49over two legs of their League Cup semi-final.
02:52Both of those matches though had only a one goal margin between them.
02:56Arsenal beat Chelsea 1-0 here with the Emirates.
02:59And then Stamford Bridge had finished 3-2 to Arsenal in the end.
03:04Chelsea get some revenge for that semi-final defeat today.
03:08Yeah, really looking forward to this one, Connor.
03:11It's a London derby.
03:13Both sets of fans ride up for it.
03:14Both sets of players will be too.
03:16We'll see whether that Arsenal nerve is tested
03:19and is shredded a little bit before the end of the game,
03:22or whether or not they get in front and prove too powerful,
03:26too effective for this young Chelsea team.
03:30Today, the 1st of March,
03:32what an important month it is said to be for Arsenal especially.
03:36Mikel Arteta's team still in pursuit of a quadruple of trophies.
03:40During this month, they are going to play key games
03:43in all four of those competitions.
03:54Sanchez nearly giving it away to Jocarez.
03:56What was the Spanish keeper thinking there?
03:59There was no danger.
04:01Wow.
04:04Just about made amends there, didn't he?
04:06But he lost his concentration,
04:08looking where he wants to play the ball,
04:09and he's forgotten where it is.
04:11Very lucky there, Robert Sanchez.
04:20Here is Gabriel.
04:24Trossard, he's been having a little tussle or two off the ball
04:27with Rhys James during the game.
04:30Look at this, James in again.
04:32He's really man-marking Leandro Trossard at the moment.
04:38Saliba.
04:41Sanchez has given it straight to Eze,
04:43who spots that Sanchez is off his goal line.
04:46Well, it would have been rude not to.
04:49It's a great spot from Ebeze.
04:55Each of his last 11 Premier League goals have been scored here in London for Ebeze.
05:26He's had a fair few touches of the ball so far, hasn't he, the goalie?
05:30It's time he gets it, he's going to feel a little more pressure each time.
05:34And Sanchez is at the second most touches of the ball, a very chance he'd wear.
05:38Nice.
05:39Arsenal get themselves a quarter kick.
05:43Enzo Fernandes slow to get back up to his feet.
05:47Good run there.
05:48Yuri and Timba does really well.
05:51Enzo Fernandes gets into a good position right down the line of that cross.
05:55takes that one in the ribs.
05:57in the ribs.
06:01Saka's corner.
06:02Gabriela the far post.
06:05They've done it again.
06:07For the 30th time this season, Arsenal score from a set piece in all competitions.
06:19The last touch may have come off a defender,
06:23but Arsenal on a day they want to return to being five points clear at the top,
06:30take the lead midway through the first half, and once again it's from a corner.
06:39It's a great ball in, you know, because it's really deep.
06:43And you watch Gabriel, number six, just hanging around that back post area,
06:50making that first contact. Saliba then gets the touch.
06:53It may have come off of Mamadou Saar, but once Arsenal win that first header at the back post,
06:59then Chelsea are in trouble.
07:01You've got to make sure you deal with it.
07:03Rhys James doesn't really do enough, only tries to block the run.
07:07And they're two and one at the back post.
07:10Arsenal have got a man over.
07:12If he doesn't head it, Zubimendi's there to pop it back in the six-yard box.
07:17Chelsea front-loading everything, got loads of bodies there.
07:20Not enough where the ball arrived.
07:23And the Premier League are giving the Arsenal goal to William Saliba.
07:29Cole Palmer in pursuit.
07:36Saliba's done really well to hold him up.
07:37Andre Santos, and it glinks down for Chelsea again.
07:41And that's happening far too often at the moment.
07:43Now, Jokeres steps down on the accelerator.
07:49Saliba bides his time, picks his moment.
07:52Oh, there's a second lunge.
07:54And that might have been inside the penalty area on Jokeres.
07:57The video assistant referee will be having a look at that in the background as Chelsea continue.
08:02Certainly will. Yep.
08:06Here's Petro Neto.
08:08And it's blocked out by Incaffier for a Chelsea quarterback.
08:12Let's come back and have a look at this.
08:14Saliba on Jokeres.
08:16It was a good battle between the two of them initially.
08:19I thought Saliba did really well to deny him.
08:21Once he gets back up on his feet...
08:23No, that's not him. No.
08:28No surprise having seen the replay that did his check complete.
08:31And they agree with the referee's call of the field of play that that is not a penalty.
08:35Very little connection, if any at all, and Jokeres there.
08:41The game is fast and pretty furious.
08:45The ball is changing hands a lot.
08:47There's always a counter-attack available for both teams.
08:54Chelsea haven't had many attacking set pieces today.
08:56Rhys James swings this one in, flicked out of the front post.
08:59And Raya is able to claw it away.
09:04Now, the video system referee is looking again at the background.
09:07There was a lot of pushing and shoving here inside the six-yard box as the ball came in.
09:12This will be worth a bit of scrutiny.
09:14Declan Rice there, look with his arms around Hato like that.
09:17I mean, again.
09:20You have to be so careful, you really do.
09:23There's a little deflection off his shoulder, actually.
09:25I don't think it was off his elbow, was it that?
09:28I think it looked like it was more off his shoulder.
09:32Yes, video system referee today is John Brooks.
09:35He has had a look at that.
09:37They do think it might have come off Declan Rice's arm,
09:40but they feel he's in such close contact with the opponent.
09:43Mind you, most of that contact, he's the one putting it in.
09:45I think that's handball.
09:46He moves the arm upwards, doesn't he?
09:49One, he's got his arms wrapped round, the Chelsea player.
09:52I really do, I think that it's almost like I can't head that,
09:56so I'm going to put something on it, lifts his arm towards it.
09:58I think he's very fortunate there.
10:00Declan Rice gets away with this one.
10:06Arms around the shoulders of the defender and then moving the arm upward.
10:12The officials have given him the benefit of the doubt there.
10:27Into stoppage as we go, three minutes to be added on.
10:31Actually, Rhys James has clipped some nice balls in himself towards that near post.
10:34Talk about Arsenal's corners.
10:37Honestly, I think Declan there is fortunate.
10:40Look, he's got his arms around Hato, you can't do that.
10:43And then he lifts his arm at the last minute and that,
10:46I think it's a penalty, I really do.
10:54Arsenal survived that scare.
10:56Here's another!
10:58And this time it's in!
11:00Rhys James' delivery causes panic again!
11:04And just before half-time, Chelsea get it back to 1-1!
11:11Ray Paul in again.
11:13Teasing deliveries, aren't they?
11:15From Rhys James, but they're right on the money.
11:18And they're so hard to defend.
11:20Sometimes, as a defensive player, you know you're going to put something on it.
11:25You don't dare want to touch it.
11:26And I think that's what's happened there for Incapié.
11:30He's standing there, waiting for this delivery to come.
11:34In it comes.
11:35He jumps, he can't get his forehead on it.
11:37He knows he's only going to flick it.
11:39You don't want to duck, you end up inadvertently flicking it beyond everybody,
11:43right into the far corner of the goal.
11:45But it's a great ball in.
11:48Well, perhaps Declan Rice was fortunate not to be sanctioned further
11:53with the delivery just before that.
11:55But it's an instant reprieve from a Chelsea point of view.
12:07Down goes Tossard.
12:09Free kick to Arsenal.
12:10And that will bring the first half to a halt.
12:13So, William Saliba setting Arsenal on their way with his first goal of the season.
12:18That was a goal from a corner.
12:20Hit last touch it up, Sarr, but you can be sure that Saliba will be claiming it.
12:25And then an own goal.
12:26Again, from a corner.
12:28Incapié into his own net.
12:30This one is all square of the break.
12:32Arsenal 1, Chelsea 1 for now.
12:40The last five Premier League games between Arsenal and Chelsea here at this stadium
12:45that have been level at half-time.
12:47Arsenal have not gone on to win any of those matches.
12:52No changes from Mikel Arteta.
12:54But he will want renewed effort, renewed concentration now in the second half.
13:01Tossard against Rhys James.
13:05Surely Chelsea will have a spring in their step now.
13:07That boost of coming from behind.
13:09Oh, yeah.
13:09Yeah, massive.
13:10It certainly does.
13:14It really helps when you think you're going in one down.
13:18All of a sudden, it's one apiece.
13:20And that changes the mindset completely.
13:24Arsenal just need to find that extra gear once more.
13:43Incapié.
13:45Piero Incapié, who's become the first Arsenal player in over a decade to score an own goal against Chelsea in
13:50the Premier League.
13:51Here's Enzo Fernandes.
13:53Save from Raya.
13:54First shot on target of the day from Chelsea.
13:57And they get a corner kick at the end of that.
13:59Enzo Fernandes has got a problem, though.
14:02He's gone down after taking the shot.
14:04Yeah.
14:04Hits it early, doesn't he, there, Enzo Fernandes?
14:07Does it very well.
14:09Michel Pedro just rolls it on one more.
14:11He hits that quite early.
14:13That's a good save from David Raya, making sure he gets a nice hand on that, knocking it away from
14:17the goal.
14:17But nothing wrong with the strike.
14:25Raya's punch.
14:28He's gone out again.
14:30Chelsea wants another corner.
14:31The on-field decision is corner, but the video-assisted referee is going to look to see if there was
14:36a foul on
14:38Jean-Petro here.
14:40Let's have a look and see whether David Raya gets clean contact with the ball.
14:44I'll tell you what, misses it.
14:45Does he get that much on it?
14:48Let's have another look again.
14:50I mean, it looks like Jean-Petro actually comes off his forehead.
14:54I don't think that one, personally again, is a penalty, but
15:01no doubt David Raya's coming there, coming across there in amongst traffic.
15:06He didn't really make great contact on it, might have got a little bit of something.
15:13Check complete from the VAR booth.
15:15Jean-Brooke's been assisted by Dan Ravathan today.
15:20Corner to Chelsea and for Rhys James.
15:28To that near-post area again, Jean-Petro denied by Raya.
15:33Good head and good save.
15:36Arsenal are getting a taste of their own medicine from those corners,
15:39because they're giving them problems.
15:42They really are, Chelsea are working them excellently.
15:46Just couldn't get enough on that, Jean-Petro.
15:50Lovely flick on at the near-post.
15:52The centre-forward just couldn't get the power he wanted.
15:59Here's Jean-Petro, allowed to turn.
16:02He has spotted in his peripheral vision that Pedro Neto has got this space in the right way.
16:06up against Hincapier.
16:11Rhys James.
16:13Dangerous whip in.
16:15Both Jean-Petro and Colpalma went for it.
16:18And Arsenal relieved to see that wide.
16:21What a ball in that is from Rhys James.
16:23How to whip a ball in first time, that's how you do it.
16:26That is right on the money, that's such a great ball.
16:30Again, got good numbers in there.
16:33Unfortunately, Jean-Petro may be just getting a little too much on it to start with,
16:37but it's a fabulous delivery.
16:48These are really important for Arsenal now.
16:51These free kicks in this sort of situation,
16:53Declan Rice really needs to find something to give people a chance in there.
17:01Here it comes from Declan Rice.
17:03Plenty spin, such danger.
17:05Gabriel was close and Sanchez punches it out for a corner.
17:11Right on cue, he produces a really good ball there.
17:14Because that's dipping in front of the goalkeeper.
17:16He comes for it, Robert Sanchez, but the traffic in front of him,
17:20that's always a worry.
17:22He comes for it in the corner.
