To offer state-of-the-art driver assistance, the new VLE is equipped with ten external cameras, five radar sensors, and twelve ultrasonic sensors, as well as a water-cooled high-performance computer running the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS). This exceptionally powerful control unit can process up to 254 teraoperations per second (TOPs). AI algorithms, trained on extensive fleet data, process the raw sensor data to create a detailed understanding of the traffic environment. Thanks to MB.OS, the VLE is always up-to-date via over-the-air updates and technically ready for advanced Level 2 functions.
