00:00It's not something you do after work. It is the work. It's an amanah, a trust from Allah.
00:03He didn't just give you a child. He gave you a soul that could be your road to Jannah or
00:09your
00:09reason for regret. And the Prophet ﷺ said, each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible
00:16for his flock. Bukhari and Muslim. Let's be honest. Parenting today is tough. We're stressed,
00:24distracted, exhausted by screens, pulled in a hundred directions. And in the middle of all that,
00:30we're trying to raise emotionally intelligent, spiritually strong, and confident Muslim
00:35children. That's why many of us slip into what I call emergency parenting mode. The child
00:42misbehaves, so we yell. They cry, so we toss them the iPad. We begin to compare. Why don't
00:49you behave like your sister? She memorized the Quran. She passed all her exams with an A grade.
00:55Sound familiar? But we forget prophetic parenting is not reactive. Let's understand it by real-life
01:04example. Fatima, a working mother, comes home to find her son hasn't done his math homework.
01:12She shouts, he cries, and the home fills with tension. But what if instead she sat beside him
01:20and said, I know this is hard. Let's do it together. That one moment of compassion might teach
01:28responsibility better than a hundred scoldings. We say no phones at the dinner table while checking
01:34WhatsApp under the table ourselves. Also scrolling in free time. But remember, children don't follow
01:41instructions. They mirror behavior.
