00:00So everyone keeps obsessing over Claude and ChatGPT, but no one is looking at this tool and yet I've used
00:06it to make more money, be more efficient and do less of the stuff that I don't really want to
00:10do.
00:11And the coolest part about it is that it's embedded in everything that I already use. So in today's video,
00:15let me talk to you about Gemini.
00:17So look, the last few months I have been on a bit of a mission, basically testing out every single
00:22AI tool there is. And over the last few weeks, I've been focusing on Gemini.
00:25Now, you might be asking, what makes Gemini different from Claude, ChatGPT or any of the others?
00:31Well, the answer doesn't really come down to the AI itself. It's about who's behind it.
00:35Google, a $4 trillion company, one of the biggest on the planet. So really think about it for a second.
00:41Google owns an absurd amount of the infrastructure that most of us use day to day.
00:47Your email, Google, your calendar, Google, your documents, Google.
00:51The platform that you are watching this on right now, YouTube, well, that's also owned by Google.
00:56Almost no other AI has that. Not a single one of them is already integrated inside of everything that you
01:03use.
01:03So I've gone ahead and pulled together the best tips that I found while using it.
01:08And I've actually split them into three levels. You've got beginner, intermediate and advanced.
01:12But real quick, before we get into it, as your big brother here on YouTube, I want to give one
01:18of you a brand new MacBook.
01:19It's a little gift from me to help you along in your online journey.
01:22So if you want to win, here is all that you have to do.
01:25I want you to watch the entire video. Once you've done that, leave a like and also leave a comment
01:29of which tip that you found the most useful.
01:31Even though the topic of today's video is AI, if it is an AI comment, you will be disqualified.
01:36Trust me, I can tell who's actually watched the video and who hasn't.
01:39So go ahead and drop it in the comments section and come back to next week's video.
01:42And I'm going to leave it as a pinned comment under that.
01:45But with all of that out the way, let's jump straight into it.
01:47All right. So starting off with beginner tip number one, setting up your personal intelligence.
01:51Now, I know that that might sound fancy, but honestly, it's not.
01:55It took me like 10 or 15 minutes to set up.
01:57If that literally all you have to do is hit the settings icon, click on personal intelligence, and then you're
02:02going to see three things pop up.
02:03You've got memory, connected apps and instructions.
02:05And we're going to come back to memory in just a second.
02:08So let's actually start with connected apps.
02:09This is where you're actually going to link whatever you're already using day to day, your calendar, your email, your
02:14Google workspace, YouTube, pretty much anything Google related.
02:18You can just plug it in here.
02:19Now, this is actually going to become a bit more relevant later on in the video when we get into
02:23one of the more advanced tips.
02:25So for now, just go ahead and connect it while you're already here.
02:28Then you've got instructions.
02:29And this is really just you telling Gemini how you want it to behave with you moving forward.
02:33Because when it comes to AI, context is everything, right?
02:36Yes, of course, the tool is super powerful.
02:39But if it doesn't know how you work, how you think, and how you want to work with it, it's
02:43going to slow you down more than it actually speeds you up.
02:46And honestly, I cannot stress enough how worth it is to sit down and do this.
02:50So mine is actually configured to do two things.
02:53First is keep answers short and straight to the point.
02:56And second, I told it not to be a yes man, okay?
02:58Actually push back on me.
03:00If the idea is weak, tell me it's weak.
03:02And then also tell me why.
03:03That way we end up going back and forth instead of just agreeing with whatever I say.
03:06It's little things like this that might seem tedious to do.
03:10But spend literally 15 minutes doing it properly.
03:13And I promise you the payoff is huge.
03:15Now, I said that we'd actually come back to memory.
03:17And here's why.
03:18Because this one is in a slightly different spot for whatever reason.
03:21So you're going to go back into settings.
03:23And just below personal intelligence, you're going to see import memory to Gemini.
03:27You're going to click into that.
03:28And then there's two options sitting in there.
03:30Now, I'll be honest.
03:31If this feature didn't exist, I would probably still be on ChatGPT right now.
03:35I stayed there way longer than I should have purely because of its memory with me.
03:39Because after you've worked with an AI for long enough, it starts to understand your preferences,
03:44your business, and the way that you make decisions.
03:46Moving to a new tool can feel like starting from zero.
03:49And starting fresh from zero wasn't something that I was looking to do.
03:52But look, you don't have to worry about that anymore.
03:54Because these days, it is so easy to transfer over.
03:57The first part here is importing your memory.
03:59How it works is Gemini is actually going to give you a prompt.
04:01You're going to copy it.
04:02You're going to paste it into whatever AI that you've been using.
04:05And it actually hands you back a summary of everything that knows about you.
04:08And then you're going to bring that summary over to Gemini, paste it in, and done.
04:12Then the second one goes a little bit further than that.
04:14You can actually export your entire chat history and bring that all in too.
04:18Now, I know that these seem pretty similar, but they are actually quite different.
04:21Memory is more of like a summary.
04:23So your job, your preferences, facts about you, that kind of thing.
04:27Whereas chat history is literally every conversation that you've ever had with it.
04:31And that means that you're not sat there trying to play catch up and rebuild your past conversations.
04:36So if you are properly making the switch, honestly, I would just do both.
04:40And even if you're only trying Gemini out for now, I would still do it anyways.
04:43To do it, it's pretty simple wherever you're coming from.
04:46I'm not going to show you exactly how to get it done because it's slightly different depending
04:49on where you're actually migrating over from.
04:51But once again, just head into the settings of your old AI and somewhere in there, there's
04:55going to be an option to export your chat history.
04:58From there, just come back to Gemini, click on upload and give Gemini your files.
05:02Is it a little tedious?
05:03Yes.
05:04Is it worth doing?
05:04Absolutely.
05:05Remember, this all comes down to context because context is everything with AI.
05:10And the more it gets to know about you, the better it gets.
05:13So now that you've helped Gemini understand you a little bit better, it's probably worth
05:17understanding it a little better too.
05:19And that's actually tip number two, understanding the different models in here and what each of them
05:23is actually doing to your usage.
05:25Because when you signed up for Gemini, you probably saw a bunch of different plans on
05:29there.
05:29Each one saying that it had more usage than the last.
05:32And what that usage actually is, is tokens.
05:35Now, tokens are basically just credits that you're spending every time you use the software.
05:39And look, if you're balling out and you've got no problem paying hundreds of dollars a
05:43month on buying extra credits, then by all means, you can go ahead and skip this tip and
05:48move on to the next one.
05:49You see, at my company, consulting.com, we've got AI built into pretty much every department
05:53at this point, sales, support, marketing, dev, all of it.
05:56And then on top of that, we've either built or licensed multiple AI software companies that
06:01our clients use every single day.
06:03That's thousands of users across multiple tools.
06:06And when you add all of that together, we are literally spending hundreds of thousands
06:09of dollars a month just in tokens alone.
06:11Now, of course, you're not spending anywhere near that.
06:13I know.
06:14But it works the exact same for you, just on a smaller scale.
06:16It is the difference between getting your work done or hitting your limit halfway through
06:20and then just sitting there waiting for it to reset.
06:22And it really just comes down to one simple concept.
06:24The higher up the tiers that you go, the more that the model thinks and the more complex
06:29the work it can handle.
06:30But that also comes at a price.
06:31And that price is tokens.
06:33The deeper that it thinks, the more that it burns.
06:35So let me actually walk you through the three models that Gemini has to offer.
06:39The first one is called Flashlight.
06:40And this is for all the stuff that doesn't really need much thinking at all.
06:43This will be just for a quick back and forth or summarizing a meeting script, organizing
06:47a prospect list, maybe refining the text on a resource that you've built.
06:51Basically, all of the things that you could technically do yourself, but you're just handing
06:55it over to it to save time.
06:57Look, let's be real.
06:57None of that needs any real thinking from it, which is exactly why you should be using
07:01it because Flashlight barely touches your usage.
07:04Then you've got your middle ground, which is actually called Flash.
07:07And this is really your daily driver, OK?
07:09It's the balance between getting proper work done while also not torching your usage by
07:13doing it.
07:13Now, with this specific model, you get a bit of that second layer thinking where it's reasoning
07:17through the problem instead of just handing you the obvious answer.
07:20So let's say you're either building something or working through something that needs a little
07:23bit more thinking.
07:24This is where you're going to spend most of your time.
07:26And then there's pro.
07:28And this is really the one that you're going to pull out when your boss asks you for something
07:31that you haven't even started.
07:33And he asked for it yesterday.
07:34In this case, there is no time for back and forth or arguing with it.
07:38Or this is for if you're working on something that's really big and important, where you actually
07:42need multiple layers of thinking.
07:44I'm talking complex, multi-step stuff.
07:46That is what pros for.
07:48But once again, use it sparingly, because if you don't, you're not going to get more
07:51than a few back and forths from it.
07:52All right.
07:53So you've got Gemini understanding you and you already know which models to reach for when
07:57you need to get a specific task done.
07:59Now we're actually going to take it a step further and become a lot more efficient when
08:03it comes to using Gemini.
08:04And that is tip number three, which is gems and skills.
08:07You see, once you start using these properly, you're going to realize how often you've just
08:11been wasting your time prompting AI with the same instructions typed out again and again
08:15for the exact same job.
08:16And that's just a waste.
08:17If you ask me, well, that is exactly what these next two features are there to fix.
08:21So let's start with gems.
08:23Now, before we get into it, you might be wondering why would they name this gems?
08:26I'll be honest, I had no idea.
08:27So I actually asked Gemini why they called it gems.
08:30And apparently it's because you customize it for a specific job, which to me still didn't
08:33really make sense.
08:34But anyways, where were we?
08:35Yes.
08:36A gem is basically just a regular Gemini chat, but with a knowledge base that you actually
08:41stack on top of.
08:42Now, what that means is it already knows the context that you've given it, right?
08:45So it already knows the instructions that you've set.
08:47So you're not going to be sat there re-explaining yourself over and over.
08:51So let's say you write your emails in a certain way.
08:53Instead of telling Gemini how you like them written every single time, instead you build
08:57that into a gem once.
08:58And from then on, it just knows.
09:00Or maybe Gemini is helping you refine a process.
09:02You can upload all of the documentation behind that process, and then it can just reference
09:07it directly when it helps you build.
09:09Look, either way, setting one up is pretty quick.
09:11All you're going to do is hit the settings icon.
09:13Then you're going to click on gems.
09:14You're going to hit add new gem.
09:15You're going to give it a name, a quick description, and then you're just going to spend a bit
09:18of time on the instructions because, well, I mean, that's kind of the entire point, right?
09:22Then the last step is to actually upload any files that you have that would help this gem
09:26get the job done.
09:27And look, you're not just limited to one of these, okay?
09:29You can build different gems for different tasks, for different projects.
09:32So I would just recommend giving them a go.
09:35Now, on the other side of the coin, you've got skills.
09:37A gem is something that you can talk to, okay?
09:40Like a customized version of Gemini to go back and forth with.
09:42But a skill is a repeatable process that Gemini can call into when it needs to complete a certain
09:47type of task.
09:48And once that is created, Gemini can just pull from those instructions so that way you
09:52don't have to re-explain how to do something.
09:55And the best part is you don't even need to build these from scratch.
09:57You can just describe what you want, and then you can have Gemini build a skill for you.
10:01And if you've already got a skill file written for Claude, or any other AI for that matter,
10:05you can just upload it straight into that.
10:07And let's say that that's too much effort for you, or you want to get a little bit more
10:10creative, there's actually a site called AI Agents Library, and people are already sharing
10:15ready-made ones on there.
10:16So that way you can just go ahead and download it.
10:18Literally thousands of them sitting right there.
10:20Between writing, coding, design, whatever it is you need, it's probably there.
10:24So if you just spend some time setting up both of these, you're going to save a lot of
10:28time repeating yourself over and over again.
10:30Now, look, I don't know how much time you spend on YouTube, but if you're anything like
10:33me, it's probably more than you'd like to admit.
10:35And look, I think that this is the most valuable platform out there.
10:38The amount that you can learn on here for free is crazy.
10:41I think it's something like 500 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every single
10:45minute, which is 30,000 hours of content every hour.
10:48So that comes out to something like 80 years of content a day that's posted.
10:51Now, of course, granted, that's not all educational, okay?
10:53A lot of it is entertainment or just random bits and bobs.
10:56So look, the point is there is a lot of content on this platform, which is genuinely great,
11:00but there is nothing more annoying than only needing 30 seconds of the video and then having
11:04to watch through the whole thing to get it.
11:06Even if you bump it up to two or three X speed, you can still spend hours on here trying
11:10to
11:10absorb everything.
11:11Well, you don't have to anymore, which is tip number four, which is using Gemini for YouTube.
11:15Now, you remember how Google basically owns everything?
11:18Well, YouTube is one of those things.
11:19So it makes sense that Gemini would talk to it directly.
11:22You can actually click the Gemini button while you're on a video and you can ask it questions
11:27about what you're watching.
11:28And from there, you can actually get the whole thing summarized or pull out the bits that
11:32you actually need.
11:33And this is especially useful when there is no timestamps on a video and you're trying
11:37to track down one specific thing without scrubbing through the whole video.
11:41Now, look, it's not perfect.
11:42It can hallucinate.
11:43And depending on how tricky the question you're asking, it doesn't always get it right.
11:47I actually use specialized tools for this myself most of the time.
11:50These are designed from the ground up to help with this.
11:52But during my last few weeks where I've only stuck to Gemini and just used it as my daily
11:56driver, I made myself stick to it instead.
11:59And the truth is that Gemini gets you about 70% of the way there and for 0% of
12:03the price
12:03because it's already included in your subscription.
12:05And for most of you out there, 70% is more than enough.
12:07All right.
12:08So this next tip is going to fall into the bracket of it's pretty cool, but you probably
12:11don't really need it, but you're already paying for it every single month.
12:14So you might as well know it's there.
12:15And that's tip number five, which is using Gemini Live.
12:17And what it does is instead of typing back and forth with Gemini, you can just speak
12:21to it like you are literally on a call with someone.
12:23And on top of that, you can actually turn on your camera so it can see exactly what you're
12:27looking at while you're talking to it.
12:29So realistically, for most of your day to day, you're probably not going to use this
12:32that much.
12:33I mean, to be honest, that was the case for me.
12:34But when I was putting this video together, I actually spoke to some of my colleagues on
12:37my product team if they've ever used it.
12:39And I had some interesting stories.
12:41One of them actually told me that he used it to fix his garage door.
12:44He literally pointed the camera at the motor and then told Gemini what the issue was.
12:49And it actually walked him through exactly how to reconfigure it, what to push, what to
12:53hold, when to stop, basically whatever goes into configuring a garage door motor, which
12:58is pretty impressive if you think about it.
13:00But it's a bit of a niche one.
13:01I'm sure if you play around with it and test it, you'll find some more use cases for this
13:05specific function.
13:06And now for the more intermediate tips, we're going to focus on building with Gemini.
13:09So look, one of the most frustrating things for me when I'm building something with AI
13:13is having to sit there, copy it out, and paste it into whatever it is I'm working on.
13:17And then go back, work and tweak some more, and then copy it back again.
13:21Every single time.
13:23That back and forth takes forever.
13:25If you've ever used AI before, then I'm sure you've been there too.
13:28Well, look, Gemini's got something for that.
13:30Which brings us to tip number six.
13:32Use Canvas.
13:33Your chat stays on the left and whatever you're working on sits on the right.
13:36So that way, when you ask it to change something, it's just going to update it right there
13:39in place instead of reprinting the whole thing back at you to copy over.
13:43Look, this one's a little bit hard to describe because there isn't just like one specific
13:47use case for this.
13:48It works for writing.
13:48It works for coding.
13:49It works for studying.
13:51Basically anything where the thing is constantly updating and you want to keep your eye on it
13:55as it does.
13:55So instead of trying to explain, let me just go ahead and show you how it works.
13:58Let's take studying because that's an easy one for me to show you.
14:01Now look, I'm not studying at the moment, but just to show you how it works, I'm actually
14:04going to go ahead and upload a chapter from one of my favorite books straight into the canvas.
14:08And then I'm going to ask it to build me a 10 question quiz off the back of it.
14:12And you're going to see that it's interactive as well.
14:14Now, the first question, if I get it wrong, it's going to tell me straight away and then
14:18I move on to the next one.
14:19So look, you might be in the same position as me, which is not in high school or not
14:22studying in college, but I know there's a lot of you out there that are just learning
14:26something, okay?
14:26Whether that's exams or certifications, or you just generally want to brush up on your knowledge
14:30about something.
14:31Well, then in that case, this is for you.
14:33Then you've got coding and it works the exact same way.
14:35It just asks you to build a simple app to do whatever you need, and it builds it right
14:39there in the canvas.
14:40So let's say I wanted to track one of my workouts.
14:43Let me give it some basic information about what I want, and let's see what it comes up
14:46with.
14:47And there it is.
14:47First version working.
14:48Now, sure, I could sit here for a while, make it perfect.
14:51But the whole reason I would build this instead of just downloading something off of the app
14:54store is that I can make it exactly what I need it to be.
14:57And it doesn't need to be workout stuff either.
14:59If there's something you're stuck on for work, something that's a pain to deal with, see if you
15:03can actually build an app around it.
15:05I mean, look, it's sitting in your subscription anyways.
15:07And lastly, canvas works the exact same way with writing too.
15:10So if you're working on a script or a document, you can just bring it up into the canvas and
15:14work on it right there instead of juggling two different tabs.
15:16So look, up until now, almost everything that we've done has had Gemini stuck inside of its
15:21own chat window.
15:22The next tip changes all of that, and that's actually using Gemini inside of Chrome.
15:27Now, this one is probably obvious, but this is only going to work if you're using Chrome
15:31as your main browser, it's not going to work with Safari or Firefox or anything else.
15:35But as long as you're using Chrome, you've got it.
15:37So if you look at the top right of your screen, there's actually an ask Gemini button there.
15:41You're just going to click on that.
15:42And then Gemini is going to open up on the right side next to whatever it is that you're
15:46currently working on.
15:47And now it can actually see your screen.
15:49So let's say you've read some long article and you've got a question about it.
15:52You don't need to copy a big chunk out and then paste it into a chat anymore.
15:55It's already looking at the page.
15:57You just ask directly there.
15:59And if you want to get a real techie with it, you can actually point it to a few different
16:02tabs at once.
16:03So let's say you're booking a holiday.
16:05You've got five different places that you're thinking of staying at.
16:07Normally, you're clicking back and forth between those tabs, trying to figure out which one's
16:11cheaper or which one's got the better reviews or closer to the beach.
16:15Instead, you're going to type the at symbol.
16:17You're going to pick your tabs and ask it once.
16:19It's going to go through all five and tell you which one fits what you're after.
16:23Now, look, I know that sounds like a small thing on its own, but once you get used to it,
16:27it's saving you that 15 seconds of jumping between tabs every time.
16:30And when you're doing that 30 or 40 times a day, it starts to add up a lot more than
16:34you'd think.
16:35Now, right at the start, I told you that the reason Gemini is different is because Google
16:39is the one behind it.
16:41And Google runs pretty much everything you're already using day to day.
16:44And this is supposed to be where it all pays off.
16:46And it does in a way.
16:48And I'm going to get into the butt in just a second.
16:50But nevertheless, that brings us on to tip eight, which is making use of the workspace integration.
16:55You see, some AI tools do plug into other software to some degree these days.
17:00But because Google owns the tools themselves, they are built directly into the software.
17:06I mean, it's already sitting there inside of Gmail, Docs, Sheets, all of it.
17:10You never have to leave what you're doing to go and use it.
17:12So let's take Gmail, for example.
17:14You're writing an email and there's a little pen icon sitting right there in the compose
17:18window that will basically write it with you.
17:20Or let's say that you land on one of those threads that's gone 40 replies deep and you
17:24have no idea what's even been decided anymore.
17:27Just tell Gemini to summarize it and then it hands you back exactly what was agreed and
17:31what's landed on you to do.
17:33Docs work the exact same way.
17:34It's just a panel sitting right next to whatever it is that you're writing.
17:38Draft the whole thing from scratch.
17:39Get it to summarize what's already there.
17:41Or ask it a question about whatever you're reading without ever opening a new tab for it.
17:46Sheets is probably the one that saves you the most pain out of all of them.
17:49Basically tell it what you want to do and it writes the formula and drops it straight into
17:53the cell for you.
17:54No more sitting there Googling how to build formulas because respectfully, if the tool
17:58can write the formula for you, well then why are you spending 20 minutes on the task?
18:01And on top of all of that, you can tell it to pull from an email thread or let's say
18:05a
18:05file sitting in drive both at once and draft something off of the two of them together.
18:10Now look, on paper, this is all very impressive, but it's really only effective if you're already
18:14on workspace, if docs and sheets, as well as Gmail are your daily drivers.
18:19If that's you, brilliant.
18:20This is going to work exactly how you would want it to.
18:22If it's not, then none of this really applies to you the same way.
18:25And that is something I'm going to come back to once we've gone through the rest of the
18:28list.
18:29All right.
18:29So that's the intermediate stuff done.
18:30And the last two on this list are stepping up from everything that we've covered so far,
18:34but they're probably the ones you're also going to get the most out of.
18:37First up is Spark.
18:38Now, if you've ever heard of Claude's co-work feature or ChatGPT work, this is basically the
18:43Google equivalent.
18:44It basically runs on its own, makes its own calls and gets stuff done for you without
18:49you sitting there watching it happen.
18:50Trust me, I'm aware of how that sounds.
18:52AI doing its own thing, making its own calls, that probably makes you feel a bit uneasy and
18:57I totally get it.
18:57But think about it like this.
18:58Spark is basically like hiring your own personal assistant.
19:01And I'm sure you would agree.
19:02If you hired a personal assistant and then you just sat there overlooking every single
19:07task that they did, well, then you'd kind of be missing the whole point.
19:10No, the whole reason you hire someone like that is that they take the load off of you.
19:14And that is exactly why right at the start of this video, I told you to go and connect
19:19your calendar and all of your other apps, because that is what makes this personal assistant
19:23good at its job.
19:24So after a couple of weeks of using this, here is how I've got it working for me.
19:28Every night before I go to bed, it's going to go through my entire inbox while I'm asleep.
19:32And that way, by the time that I wake up, it's taken everything that came in and actually
19:36turned it into a summary sitting inside a Google Doc.
19:39That way, I just grab my coffee and I spend my morning going through what's priority and
19:43what's not, instead of having to go through every single email one by one.
19:46Now, you might not be getting emails at all hours like me, but let's say you've got a
19:50lot on your plate this week.
19:51That is when you sit down, you give Spark the full list of everything that you need to
19:56get done and ask it to prioritize it.
19:58It's going to go ahead and block out time on your calendar for each one.
20:01So that way you can just do the work instead of trying to juggle it all in your head.
20:05Or let's say your inbox is full of hundreds and hundreds of emails.
20:08Just ask Gemini to go through them and clean it up for you.
20:11And if you want to push this a bit further, Spark can work directly on your laptop too.
20:15If you're anything like me, your desktop is a complete mess.
20:18You've got files and folders you haven't touched in months, if not years.
20:21You can literally just tell Spark to go in there, sort it, categorize all of it.
20:25And a few minutes later, you come back to a clean desktop.
20:27Now, look, I want to put one caveat here, okay?
20:30Because I don't want you to come back to me saying,
20:32hey, Spark's deleted all my important files.
20:34AI has gotten good these days, really good.
20:36But I'm not sure it's at the point that I trusted with everything.
20:39So let's say you have a folder with your banking information,
20:42medical records, anything like that.
20:43Just move it somewhere else safe first and then let Gemini work the rest.
20:47All right, so last one on the list.
20:48Tip number 10 is deep research.
20:51But we're going to do something a little different with it here.
20:53And I'm going to get into that in just a second.
20:55You've probably got a rough idea what this is by now.
20:57It's when you get AI to go off and pull together a full research report
21:01on whatever it is that you've asked it.
21:03And it's genuinely useful, okay?
21:04But you've got to know how to properly use it.
21:06If you are not specific about what you actually want out of it,
21:09you're just going to get a whole lot of nonsense back
21:11and you would have burned a big chunk of your usage getting there.
21:14So before I even run the research, I get Gemini to help me build the prompt first.
21:18I give it a bit of context on what I'm trying to do.
21:21And then I tell it to ask me as many questions as it needs before we go anywhere near the
21:26actual research.
21:27And the results come back noticeably better since I started doing it this way.
21:31But look, you already know that AI can go ahead and do the research.
21:34That's nothing new, right?
21:35What we're doing here is taking it one step further.
21:38Now, once that report's done, we're actually going to pair it with something called Gemini Notebook.
21:41Now, if you haven't come across it yet, they also sometimes call it Notebook LM.
21:45It's depending on where you look.
21:47Google can't seem to really settle on a name for it.
21:49But the point is, all you need to do is drop your report straight into it.
21:52Then you're going to click the Notebook icon in the top right.
21:55It's going to open up a new tab.
21:57Once again, it doesn't cost you anything extra either.
21:59It's already sitting in your subscription.
22:00Once you're in there, it can feel a little overwhelming at first.
22:03There's quite a bit going on in there.
22:04You have audio overviews, flashcards, mind maps, quizzes, full written reports, the whole lot.
22:10That alone, probably I can make a whole dedicated video on, but that's not what we're going to do today.
22:14The one I want to show you here is the audio overview.
22:16So let's say you've pulled together all this research.
22:18You're going to click into the audio overview.
22:21You're going to pick your format.
22:22I would probably start with deep dive if I wanted the full explanation.
22:25But brief critique and debate are also useful depending on what you're trying to do.
22:29Then you're going to pick your length and you're going to pick which source it's actually pulling from.
22:33And what it spits out on the other end is basically a podcast episode built entirely off of your own
22:38research that you can just put on whenever you want.
22:40So I'll actually put it on if I'm going for a run or going to the gym or let's say
22:44out on a long drive.
22:46It's basically another way for me to get the information into my head.
22:49Once again, I know that not all of you are students.
22:51I mean, I'm not.
22:51But even if reading is just not your thing or you're trying to get some sort of certification or become
22:55an expert on a topic, this is genuinely very useful.
22:58And I would put it near the top of your list.
22:59So I'll actually get my team to put up a 10 second clip of what it made for me.
23:03Yeah, that is the exact problem that this research blueprint we're doing a deep dive into today tries to solve.
23:09It's it's basically a rigorous treasure map.
23:12Now, look, that was only 10 seconds, but I hope you kind of get the idea, right?
23:15This is actually quite insane.
23:16So on its own, deep research basically just hands you a big wall of text.
23:20Whereas notebooks is what actually turns it into something that is a lot more approachable that you're actually going to
23:26sit down and use.
23:27Or in my case, just something I can put on and listen to.
23:29Those are the 10 tips that I found useful when using Gemini.
23:32But I've got to be a little bit honest with you here for a minute.
23:35Like I said, right at the start, Gemini is in a unique spot because Google owns it and Google owns
23:40most of what you're already using.
23:41And there is genuine upside to that.
23:43OK, it's right there in your Gmail, in your docs, everywhere you work.
23:47It's good across the board.
23:48But that's exactly the problem.
23:50It's good across the board and not great at any one thing because it feels like Google got so focused
23:55on getting Gemini into everything.
23:57They've gone very wide with it.
23:58OK, Gemini is in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Search, Chrome on your phone, literally everywhere.
24:03But going wide doesn't automatically mean going deep and making it exceptional at one thing.
24:08And here's where I personally think they've fallen a bit short at the moment.
24:11And you can see it.
24:11It's changed so much over the last few months that it just doesn't feel ready.
24:15And that is the trap with all these generic AI tools.
24:18The wider you go, the more that you try to do, the more average the whole thing gets.
24:22It ends up being fine at everything instead of brilliant at just one thing.
24:27And for most of what we covered today, fine is enough.
24:29It's going to tie to your inbox.
24:30It's going to teach you something.
24:31It's going to sort your files.
24:32Little fixes that take some weight off of your day.
24:34But that's not the stuff that changes your life.
24:36What actually does change your life is having something specialized.
24:40Something built to go deep on one area and really deliver there.
24:44Whether that's your health, your relationships or your income.
24:47So if you are after real change in one part of your life, not just the surface level stuff,
24:52then I'm running an event called the Side Hustle Summit.
24:55It runs from the 6th to the 13th of September live over the course of five days.
24:59And it's completely free to join.
25:01I'm going to show you how AI can help you build a side hustle without showing your face,
25:06without any money upfront and without any experience going into it.
25:09And to top it all off, I'm bringing my own billion dollar mentor with me.
25:13Someone who's helped other people generate over $10 billion tracked online.
25:17So if that sounds like you, come join us.
25:19There's going to be a link in the description to sign up.
25:22And before you go, remember that MacBook I mentioned at the start.
25:24If you want to win it, drop a comment and let me know which one of these 10 tips you
25:28found most useful.
25:29But until then, as always, I'm watching from afar and I'm rooting for you.
