00:08Opposition MP Brian Manning is adamant. There's no decline in his support as suggested in an internal PNM report made
00:17public through a news article on Sunday.
00:19It's funny that, you know, I report to the party that the constituents are concerned about certain activities within the
00:29constituency, and their response is to write a report on everything but the issue that I brought to the attention
00:36of the party.
00:38I find it very strange, and I think everyone finds it very strange. They spend more time talking about the
00:44person who made the report and the accusation than the person who should have been the subject of it. You
00:50would have to ask them why.
00:51Manning recently raised concerns about alleged corruption within the San Fernando East constituency executive, prompting criticism from some members of
01:01his own party.
01:02He says the results of the last general election also contradict the suggestion that his support is waning.
01:10We just won an election in which San Fernando East now is the only PNM constituency from Toco to Icarus.
01:17We are surrounded by UNC constituencies. You know, there are persons in the executive right now who lost relatively marginal
01:25or safe seats by almost 4,000 votes.
01:27Yet they are in senior positions in the party. So I don't know why the last election results could be
01:33used as a barometer of support within the constituency.
01:36I promise you that is absolutely not the case. San Fernando East is rock solid, and we are with the
01:42People's National Movement and we remain that way.
01:45Manning is also challenging the process to install a new San Fernando East constituency executive.
01:51He alleges the process is biased and involves conflicts of interest and says it has reached the final approval stage
01:59without him being given a report despite several requests.
02:03But Manning maintains that his disagreements with the party executive have not affected his loyalty to the PNM.
