00:01On the hill day for the Giants will be the 25 year old right hander it'll be Logan Webb Webb
00:07in his third year at the big league level off to a great start five starts three and one with
00:11a three two six C.R.A. Tommy Edmond hitting three twenty two for the Cardinals three home runs fourteen
00:20batted in and he takes way inside it low so Webb is just out of whack at the very beginning
00:24of this game a four pitch walk to start the game very very rare to see that there he goes
00:29on
00:29the two two and it's a strikeout of Goldschmidt and a stolen base for Tommy Edmond number seven and the
00:36batter will be Nolan Aranato make a case that he's off to the best start he's ever had in his
00:42career the pitch Aranato rifles into the gap and right center field that ball is down picked on a hop
00:49by Yastrzemski and Aranato has a long single driving in Tommy Edmond one nothing first of all if it's in
00:56you're not going to hit it second of all if you look in you're not going to hit this and
00:59clearly he
00:59he was not looking inside and that is just such a pretty swing man I'll tell you what when he
01:04is right he is right the left hander Steven Matz former New York Met 30 year old left hander out
01:11of Stony Brook New York
01:15on the ground the third Aranato knocks it down can't pick it up it'll be a hit welcome back yes
01:21they'll just off the COVID list today three two pitch
01:26belt takes low and outside it's another walk and the bases are loaded with nobody out and here is Wilmer
01:33Flores
01:33two two pitch swing there's a shot to left field hit well hit high way back there
01:43it's a grand slam for Wilmer Flores man if they needed that and the Giants have a four to one
01:51lead
01:51Harrison Bader is over at first base with Yepez at third Yachty has a chance to drive him in and
01:57a chance to drive in
01:58run number one thousand the O2 base hit into right RBI number one thousand for Yachty Air Molina the eighth
02:09catcher in the history of
02:11Major League Baseball with two thousand hits one thousand runs batted in Yachty Air Molina that's hit up the middle
02:20and that's in the center of the
02:21here comes Bader throw is off line and Paul DeYoung picks up a base hit to make it four to
02:29three
02:29here's Mauricio Dubon he swings and he drives one into center field well going back forward Bader still going back
02:35it's over his head it's over the wall goodbye a two-run homer for Mauricio Dubon six to three Giants
02:44Dubon over the center field wall
02:46here's Ruff who popped out in the first inning high drive to left back is O'Neal out of here
02:59Darren Ruff for this first home run of the year the first of the year for Darren Ruff and the
03:05Giants have hit three home runs in the first two innings of Buster Posey day
03:12the next delivery is laced into left field that's going to get down for a hit and Bader who has
03:18just stolen
03:18second base now scores and the Cardinals tack one on it's eight to four San Francisco and DeYoung with his
03:26second
03:26RBI of the afternoon he's two for two way to go stating the obvious but this lineup would look
03:33completely different if you can get Paul DeYoung going it's a good job right here just no chance that
03:38Bader is going to get thrown out oh two rough hits ground ball could be two to short DeYoung
03:44boots it does not feel the cleanly the Cardinals make their second error of the day very unlike the Cardinals
03:53the best defensive team in baseball that one was right to DeYoung and maybe it took a little bit of
03:58a
03:58tweener hop and loads the bases up for Wilmer how about Wilmer he's already hit one grand slam
04:03that would really be something on on Buster Posey day here's the pitch Wilmer hits a pop up behind home
04:12plate
04:13Yadier Molina didn't see it at first now he finds it and he can't catch it
04:19it hit right in and out of his glove he had a hard time finding the ball he screams it
04:25himself he called off
04:27the ball ball gold Schmidt and even a gold lover like Molina having trouble with the pop up in northern
04:35California it's never been an easy play so new life for Wilmer Flores hit high to right
04:42Carlson will catch tagging his Duvon the throw will go to the cutoff man at short and the Giants take
04:51advantage of the error it's nine to four nice at bat by Wilmer Flores pitch number 30 of the inning
05:01and
05:01number forty one for Whitford in the air left side and the catch made by Nolan Arenado Giants
05:14and to their lead make this a little interesting the Cardinals have a chance to do that and he's graded
05:20with a base hit
05:21off the bat of Paul Goldschmidt Cardinals have 10 hits in this game they have had base runners on but
05:28just
05:29have not been able to cash in and the next to Tyler O'Neill line drive base hit so two
05:35hits for the Cardinals here in the seventh be nice to see Dylan get it rolling Danny the 2-1
05:41pitch
05:41and Carlson a drive deep right and gone three run homer
05:49Dylan Carlson his first of 2022 and with one swing the Cardinals right back in this
05:57here's Tyro Estrada he's played every day he started every single game at second base
06:05hammered down the left field line
06:07on the move is Gonzalez
06:09they're going to wave him in
06:12here's the throw
06:14not in time
06:19the Giants get one of those runs back on the double by
06:23Estrada
06:24now the pinch belt swings and misses at a changeout
06:28and I think belts feeling that he is too
06:32and here comes brush
06:35yeah I heard him
06:37it's coming out I mean he just got activated off the IL today
06:41Estrada with a ringing double and his last at bat and here he hits a high fly ball
06:46the fairly deep right field it's starting to carry
06:49and Carlson makes a nice play and it'll be a sacrifice fly
06:55on another run
06:57and St. Louis down to their final out
07:00this should do it
07:05and that's the ball game
07:08Giants snapped their five game losing
07:11straight and on Buster Posey day
07:13the Giants beat the Cardinals 13 to 7
