00:08American startup Taubrobotics has developed a humanoid cleaner designed to tackle the
00:13same everyday chores a person would.
00:15It's a humanoid, so it can do basically everything a human can do.
00:19It can vacuum clean, it can mop the floor, it can wipe kitchen counters, it can dust
00:26off some shelves.
00:28Taubrobotics launched the service about a month ago, more than 50 homes have already
00:32been cleaned and there is now a waiting list for people wanting to try it.
00:38It's exciting, the fact that it stumbles a little bit almost makes it endearing, a little
00:43bit like watching a child.
00:45And I think that's kind of like how it's entering society, it's not about expecting it to be
00:49completely perfect, but the fact that it can climb back up after it falls or pick something
00:53up the jobs.
00:54It's like the error correction that kind of makes it like seamless and kind of like in
00:59my home.
01:00But the robot isn't working alone yet.
01:02The human operator controls it remotely, seeing the home through its cameras as it carries
01:07out each task.
01:11Taubrobotics says its robot still cannot match the speed or ability of a human cleaner.
01:17But for some customers, taking a little longer is worth it if the robot handles the jobs they
01:22would rather avoid.
01:24Like I don't want to clean the toilet, like I'm willing to wait a little bit more and
01:28read a book or do some work.
01:29So I'm very excited, it's like a glimpse of the future.
01:32For now, that glimpse of the future comes in one hour slots.
01:36Taubrobotics says it hopes to offer longer cleaning sessions as the service develops.
01:41And cleaning is only the beginning of its ambitions.
01:44The company eventually wants its humanoid robots to help with some repairs and maintenance
01:49and even elderly care.
