00:01Authorities in the United States are working to recover the remains of five people killed
00:06after an Amazon Prime Air cargo plane overran a runway and crashed while landing at Miami
00:12International Airport on Sunday. Prime Air Flight 7598, which had departed from San Juan,
00:19Puerto Rico, overran the airport's diagonal runway shortly before 2 p.m. and struck several
00:25vehicles on the ground. The aircraft was a 32-year-old Boeing 767-300 freighter.
00:32According to Flight Tracking Service Flight Raider 24, the plane had previously operated
00:38as a passenger aircraft for several airlines between 1994 and 2015. The National Transportation
00:45Safety Board, or NTSB, has sent a team to investigate the crash. NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy
00:53said investigators are now working alongside recovery teams at the crash site.
00:58The recovery of victims is most important. The investigation and access to the aircraft as well
01:08as evidence can wait while the recovery operations go forward. That is most important. Reuniting
01:18families with their loved ones is most important. And so we want to respect that process and do what
01:25we can to begin our investigative duties but allow what's most important to go forward. We were able
01:36to recover the flight data recorder and the cockpit voice recorder that is going back to the NTSB tonight
01:44in just a couple of hours. And we'll be at headquarters where it can be evaluated and downloaded.
01:52Boeing and 21 Air said they would support the government's investigation into the crash. Five others
01:58were injured, including three who were in critical condition. The NTSB said the two pilots on board
02:04survived the crash. Investigators are expected to examine several factors, including the aircraft,
02:10crew training and procedures, air traffic control, communications and weather.
02:15Oh Unfortunately.
