00:00Hello, everybody. Good afternoon. It's so nice to be here in New Hampshire because in Arizona right now might be
00:07like 115 degrees. So I'm happy to be here for for Maggie, for Chris, for all the candidates up and
00:16down the ballot, because I got to tell you, I'm kind of fed up.
00:20Yeah. I mean, you guys fed up with this war in Iran. Are you fed up with Donald Trump's tariffs
00:28that are jacking up prices on everybody? I am. I'm also fed up with him taking away health care and
00:38food from people who can't afford it to give a big giant tax cut to his friends. Yeah, we're sick
00:46of it.
00:49You know, the one thing that gives me a lot of hope is obviously I listen to my wife, Gabby,
00:53a lot. I listen to what she says. You know, she was the politician in our family. She was a
01:01member of Congress. I was at NASA flying the space shuttle and then she was injured, shot, nearly assassinated, serving
01:11her constituents, meeting with them, doing the most basic thing in a democracy.
01:14And that's listening to the people that you represent. And I often think to myself, if if I was the
01:23person who was injured, would my wife Gabby have become an astronaut?
01:31She says yes. Yeah, she's with you. But, you know, I've been in the Senate for about five and a
01:39half years now, and I think a lot about Gabby's service to this country.
01:47And, you know, I flew 39 combat missions in the first Gulf War. I flew in space four times. I
01:52thought I had the risky job. Turned out it was her.
01:56You know, Gabby often says, never give up and never back down, even when the odds are the longest.
02:07Now, I don't think the odds are very long for us right now, but these have been challenging times.
02:12And what she says about challenging times is that we're up for the challenge. And that gives me a lot
02:18of hope.
02:20Let me tell you a quick story. Last October, I took my eldest daughter, Claudia, to see the house where
02:27we lived when I was 30 and she was born.
02:31She's 30 today, has two kids of her own. This house is near the Navy base where I was stationed
02:37as a Navy test pilot.
02:39But we knock on the door. The guy who sold the house to was still there, recognizes me, invites us
02:44in.
02:45And we get a tour of this house. And for me, this was like an awesome experience.
02:49It brought back some really great memories of when my daughter was a baby.
02:54Not the experience for her.
02:58We get back in the car, and the first thing she says to me, she says,
03:04Dad, Dad, I don't understand.
03:10I mean, you were my age, and you could buy that house in that neighborhood, four-bedroom house, big backyard,
03:18nice neighborhood.
03:21I mean, what happened?
03:23And by the way, you were in the Navy?
03:25I mean, my daughter and her friends, young people like her, all across Arizona, across New Hampshire,
03:33who've done everything right.
03:36They've got good jobs.
03:37They save what they can.
03:39They're playing by the rules.
03:42But all of that doesn't get you as far these days as when I was a kid, or many of
03:49you were kids.
03:53Whether it's like, you know, health care, groceries, rent, everything costs more.
04:01And the anxiety of the change that's going on around them.
04:07Many people now worry.
04:08They wake up worried as they're driving to work.
04:12Is it a day I'm going to lose my job to some kind of AI?
04:15And then when they get home, they're trying to figure out what bills to pay this month.
04:20What bills are going to be paid next month and what bills aren't going to be paid at all.
04:25And here's the thing.
04:27It's not that hard work stopped mattering.
04:30It's just that your hard work now makes somebody else rich.
04:34You're still generating wealth.
04:37It just goes into somebody else's bank account.
04:41Our country is the richest it has ever been today.
04:48Now tell me, does it feel that way to you?
04:53Not to most of the country.
04:56And as I told my daughter, the system is still working.
05:00It's just not working for you.
05:03You know what it's working for?
05:06It's working for the rich.
05:09It's working for the people making the rules.
05:11And those are the rich, the powerful, the predators in the Epstein files, the people who kiss Donald Trump's ass.
05:22And every time they take money out of public education, they're saying your kid's education and future is a bad
05:30investment.
05:31And every time they make health care more expensive, they're saying corporate profits matter more than your family's health.
05:41And every time some rich guy writes a million dollar check to be a member of Mar-a-Lago or
05:48writes a check to invest in Donald Trump's latest crypto scam or gives money for a ballroom, here's what they're
05:58saying.
05:59They're saying that they know how the system works and it works for them.
06:05But the country I risked my life for, it's supposed to work for all of us.
06:12Now, you may have seen a while back that your Congresswoman, Maggie Goodlander and I, you know, said something that
06:24Pete Hegsath and everybody else should agree with.
06:29That members of the military should not follow illegal orders.
06:37You're welcome.
06:39And in response, Donald Trump said we should be hanged, executed, prosecuted.
06:46The guy couldn't even get the order right.
06:52And then he said we should try to indict us and throw us in jail.
06:58But here's the thing.
06:59This isn't about us.
07:01He's trying to silence anybody who is willing to stand up and speak out against him.
07:12And I've got to tell you, there's nothing more un-American than that.
07:19What they're doing here in New Hampshire and across the country, they're trying to make it harder for people to
07:23vote.
07:24Because they know if they can put barriers in front of people who want to participate in the democracy, more
07:33likely that they win.
07:36But this next election, it's not going to be about Donald Trump.
07:41It's going to be about you.
07:44I mean, you know better than anybody.
07:48You know better than anybody about your kids' dreams and their future.
07:56Your family's health and budget.
07:58Your family's freedom and safety.
08:01You know, those decisions should be made in your homes, your schools, your doctor's offices, and your communities.
08:10Not on a golf course in Palm Beach and not on a patio in the White House.
08:17And when we flip Congress, and we're going to do this.
08:25And by the way, we're going to do it by electing Chris Pappas and senators across the country and House
08:31members across the country.
08:33When we flip Congress, we can bring down costs.
08:39You know, we can build more homes instead of support hedge funds.
08:43We can make corporations pay their fair share.
08:46We can make sure that we have a say in how AI is going to change the economy.
08:52And at the end of the day, you know, kids can dream about their future.
08:59And know that the hard work that they do is actually going to pay off for them.
09:04And we could stop this corruption, including stopping members of Congress from trading stocks and end the corruption to this
09:13president.
