00:00The young guys, the turkey that the young guys ran.
00:03Koiv at 3M, Thor at the Rocket, Michael Brennan at the Wyndham,
00:07the back-to-back-to-back wins.
00:09Like we're talking about the future game.
00:11That was such a cool stretch of golf and the way it impacts the season.
00:16And that folds right back into this discussion we're having
00:19about Challenger vs. Championship is that that is a fun –
00:23all the majors are done.
00:24We're kind of waiting for the postseason to begin.
00:26And I love that stretch of the schedule for the exact reason
00:30that we saw this year.
00:31So that was another theme.
00:32And then my last theme I had was brother golf stuff, right?
00:36You played a ton of your golf growing up with Lucky.
00:38I played a ton of my golf growing up with David.
00:41Seeing Mac and Alex Fitzpatrick win the Zurich Classic
00:44and then Alex go on to make the Tour Championship at Eastlake.
00:48Loved that story.
00:49So those are my favorites from the year.
00:52Yeah, nobody to add really from the young guys,
00:54except I'll go a little bit on the other side of the coin
00:57of young guys who I was expecting to have better years
01:01that really surprised – honestly shocked me.
01:05I thought Luke Clanton was poised to have a pretty good year.
01:09Maybe not quite President's Cup selection possibility,
01:12but something to where he was on the line of making the Tour Championship
01:17in his first full season on the PGA Tour.
01:20And he finished at 147.
01:23So that was a really, really big surprise for me.
01:25And I don't know because that's a full season sample size
01:30and watching him play coming out of –
01:32or when he was still at Florida State.
01:34I just wonder where the disconnect was for him.
01:37And I could just kind of briefly look at his stats
01:40to kind of tell a little bit of the story.
01:42Because we had – when I was looking at it back in 2025
01:47when he's coming out, the one thing that I noticed
01:49was that his chipping stats were a little bit off.
01:52But like he had the ball speed.
01:54The putter was kind of hit or miss.
01:56When he's come on the show, we've kind of talked about
01:57how the putter was something that he was kind of green on, if you will.
02:03It's like this is kind of what I do well.
02:05But when you look at his stats, man, his irons were really solid.
02:09Off the tee game, the putting, and then around the green
02:13were all just like losing strokes every round.
02:16So clearly he needs to get better off the tee.
02:20That was something we saw him be very, very successful with
02:22when he came out.
02:23But the short game is still an area that he needs to improve.
02:26And then a couple other guys I wanted to mention
02:28that I think just need to continue developing and growing their game.
02:33I thought Neil Shipley was poised to have a big year.
02:36And he was a guy that I think even James Nittes came on and said,
02:39this is a guy that's built to play more on the PGA Tour
02:42versus the Corn Fairy.
02:43And his putting was something that I thought was potentially
02:47just the way he sets up to it going to be like,
02:49is this kind of just going to be a streaky putter guy?
02:51Just maybe going to win, have some hot weeks.
02:54Was told he's a great ball striker.
02:56And I know one of those categories he was actually really good in.
02:59It was, I couldn't remember if it was iron.
03:00Off the tee.
03:01Led the fuel and stroke scan off the tee or led the tour.
03:03But I think his iron game was like not good.
03:05So it was one of the other, like one was good and one was bad.
03:08But so Shipley is another guy.
03:10I still feel like Gordon Sargent's like still getting rid of that scar tissue
03:16from when he was really struggling in his senior year,
03:19or I should say his junior year in college.
03:21So I think that scar tissue is like kind of slowly coming off.
03:24I think Gordon, I'm not ready to write him off by any means
03:29because like he was a world beater as an amateur.
03:32And I think he took his lumps this year.
03:33He had some moments, finished second at Putakana.
03:37And so like he had times in which he was like, all right,
03:41get him like on a full season,
03:42either on the Challenger series or the Corn Fairy
03:44where his confidence starts to come back.
03:46I could see Gordon potentially making that next jump.
03:50But his iron game is like the biggest thing that he needs to keep working on.
03:54And one other guy I wanted to give you was, you know,
03:58I hope that Nick Dunlap can prove everybody wrong.
04:03I think Dunlap is a guy that has shown that what his ceiling is,
04:08but he's also shown the floor.
04:09And I can personally relate to it.
04:12I've been through the driving stuff.
04:13But as we've talked about on the show with my experience,
04:18and Michael Kim has spoken about it,
04:20you've got to fix the technique first.
04:22And until you fix the technique, you can't fix the scar tissue
04:27because you're going to continue to worry about it.
04:29So his technique in this offseason, you know,
04:33if he can just not try to play as much competitive golf
04:36and focus more on like building the blocks to get back,
04:39I think Dunlap is plenty good enough,
04:42and we've seen it to be a guy who's on that championship series
04:46like consistently.
