00:00Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander is assuring that the opening of the mobile police posts located outside Grand Bazaar
00:07at the Edi Hart Savannah in Takarigua
00:09and that the Taruba flyover built by this government as part of their crime-fighting and crime-prevention plan is
00:16only awaiting the go-ahead from Prime Minister Kamala Pusad-Bissessa.
00:35Alexander says the government and relevant stakeholders don't want to rush into any of the processes involved in the opening
00:42and logistics of the police posts as they intend for these to be long-lasting measures.
00:49And when I say soon, I will tell you something. We operate with any type of knee-joke reaction, a
00:55knee-joke reaction.
00:57It's something that you're putting in place strategically and systematically where everything would work like clockwork.
01:06So you're just not running about the place and doing this running out.
01:09So when we intend to fill that unit with officers, the defense force and the police, it is something that
01:20we intend to sustain for a long, long period of time.
01:24Not something that we're fighting to get police today and tomorrow we can't find this one or not.
01:29Addressing those who are detractors of the police posts and their locations, Minister Alexander had this to say.
01:34The people have put in those mobile units where there were crime.
01:40Some people have put it all over Canada. Some people have put one in their yard.
01:44But it's not just about crime. Some are strategic areas that could respond, intercept.
01:51It's that strategic eye that we're looking for.
01:54You cannot just, anybody that calls for that type of unit, you have to give them to them and tell
02:00them before I'll put one in your yard and the other man yard at TV6.
