ಜಮ್ಮು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರದ ಶ್ರೀನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರೋತ್ಸವದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ವಂದೇ ಮಾತರಂ’ ಗೀತೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆರು ಚರಣಗಳನ್ನು ನುಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಒಮರ್ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ಲಾ ಹಾಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಷನಲ್ ಕಾನ್ಫರೆನ್ಸ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಫಾರೂಕ್ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ಲಾ ಹಾಡು ಮುಗಿಯುವವರೆಗೂ ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತು ಗೌರವ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.
ಇದೀಗ ಈ ವಿಚಾರ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ರಾಜಕಾರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪೂರ್ಣ ‘ವಂದೇ ಮಾತರಂ’ ಹಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನಾಯಕ ಕೆ.ಸಿ. ವೇಣುಗೋಪಾಲ್ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದ ನಾಯಕರ ನಿರ್ಧಾರವನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಿ ಮೊದಲ ಎರಡು ಚರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಹಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನಿಲುವನ್ನು ಮಿತ್ರಪಕ್ಷ ನ್ಯಾಷನಲ್ ಕಾನ್ಫರೆನ್ಸ್ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
A political controversy has erupted over the rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ at the inauguration of the International Film Festival held in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.
All six stanzas of the song were performed during the ceremony, with Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah standing in respect until the song concluded.
The issue has triggered a political debate after Congress leader K.C. Venugopal expressed objections to the full rendition and urged its alliance partner, the National Conference, to support the Congress position of singing only the first two stanzas.
