00:21Welcome to Buffalo Park here in East London in South Africa and to this day
00:25night match between Australia and the South Africans the news from Buffalo
00:30Park is that Kepler vessels has won the toss for South Africa who have decided
00:34to bat first so the South Africans batting first on strike at the moment
00:37it's Peter Kirsten he's out there with Hudson and the bowler is rifled one bang
00:45on target so far just one run one no ball has been scored now the South African
00:52side there it is Hudson Kirsten Cronier Rhodes vessels batting down the order
00:55there caper brought into the side he's the big hitting South African Adrian
00:59caper Simons Macmillan Richardson Matthews and Davilias so quite a lot of depth in
01:03their batting Richardson right down there at number nine
01:07plenty to go there Macmillan comes in for Snell it's by comparison with the first
01:15match and for Australia just one change Tim May is in for Craig McDermott and so
01:24the batting lineup will be Boone no doubt with Slater Dean Jones in the side the
01:29War Brothers Alan Border Ian Healy Paul rifle the spinners Shane and Warne and Tim May
01:36and Glenn McGrath his bowl just won over so far
01:52just moving away just a little bit through to Healy so quite a tidy start so far nothing dramatic has
01:59happened here just one no ball so far
02:03Paul rifle who's pushing into the breeze getting just a little bit of outswing
02:07there he's coming from the bunkers hill end and so far both rifle and McGrath have
02:13just got it to move away from the right-handers both Hudson and Peter Kirsten
02:19looking a little uncertain
02:27and as yet no run off the bat with just the no ball in that over and Glenn McGrath bowled
02:33a maiden
02:36Andrew Hudson coming back into the South African one-day side
02:44and Peter Kirsten playing in preference to his half-brother Gary one of the reasons could be
02:50that this is Peter Kirsten's home ground so he knows it extremely well plays for border in fact
02:56captain's border in the provincial competition they play here at Buffalo Park
03:04I think that's the eastern beach and bunkers hill itself the golf course just over the left there
03:08and uh the big car park football ground car park
03:14McGrath continue
03:17in the end no one in that area down to third man
03:21and so the first run comes up the bat big crowd here
03:24I reckon about 70 000 is the capacity and sure enough it looks to me as if it's pretty well
03:29packed
03:31right from early this morning people have been uh wandering up the road
03:35to this ground they've uh they opened the gates at uh something around around about 11 o'clock
03:41but the car parks were open very early this morning and so you can see it's an interesting ground
03:45just a very few seats are able to be bought
03:52oh that's a good delivery
03:55it's the uh the majority of this ground are banks all around it's been built a little amphitheatre
04:02reserve seats are very very hard to get here
04:10uh
04:28so this was your uh home ground for club cricket too many many years ago greggy
04:32yes when i left school i came down and joined this club the buffalo club it's a very different
04:38ground now to what it used to be one of those banks around the edges of the ground they've also
04:42got a lovely clubhouse that's been there for years a bit of a phrase down here once a buffalo
04:47always a buffalo and of course it has the big buffalo badge the head of a buffalo same as the
04:54border
04:54badge which is the province we're in at the moment and i think perhaps was the only club that i
05:04knew of
05:05down in this part that actually wore the baggy aussie type cap the buffalo cap is quite a tradition
05:12associated with the career club here and all that baggy aussie style cap
05:24they're still pouring in and there'll be barbecues everywhere this evening
05:33pad i'd say it's running away down towards final leg will he get to it
05:36he's locked it back rifle fielding down at final leg
05:43like bye signaled there by umpire liebenberg good effort there from paul rifle
05:49it's slightly downhill towards the bunkers hill end so rifle did extremely well to get around and stop
05:57that looked as though it was headed for the the ropes
06:14that's got that one through the gap once again third man will cover it
06:19kirsten just playing that shot he plays so well the little run shot down to third man that's the
06:23end of the other let's know we get to six
06:26you
